The best restaurants serving British food in Wokingham South East

Ordered salad boxes and jacket potatoes for our office lunch. Absolutely perfect. Both were delicious and received great feedback from staff. Every item was labelled with the name which made it so much easier giving out the food. Would definitely recommend if you want good food for the office lunch!

This is such a lovely place! Not only can you buy amazing pies but you can pop in for a drink, some breakfast or lunch. The food is delicious and the staff are all lovely.

We went to The Lord Raglan, on a whim for lunch, as it was opposite a sewing shop I wanted to visit. That said, my Husband who knows Wokingham from his youth, said the pub used to be his old stomping ground, so was interested to know how much it had altered. And apparently altered it had! It's now a lovely venue, with wood floors and a variety of places to sit and enjoy drinks or food. We wandered in with no booking, today (Friday 6 December) about 1.30ish and were met with a lovely cheery welcome from the lady behind the bar, who explained we could choose anywhere to sit with our two dogs. We sat in the restaurant area as it meant our dogs weren't underfoot from people coming in from the cold. It was fairly busy with a couple of large Christmas office lunches in full swing so the atmosphere was cheerful and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The service from the staff was exemplary from the warm welcome, to being offered water for our dogs, and checking if we needed more drinks or anything else after our initial food order. The food was tasty and I will definitely be having the garlic pil pil again when we next visit as my Husband managed to sneak half of mine today! But both the staff and the clientele were friendly and happy, and the food was definitely much above average "pub grub" which is perfect for what we wanted. Looking around at what other people were being brought out by the staff, I think the Christmas turkey dinner looked amazing, with the world's biggest Yorkshire puddings! I note another reviewer here said they didn't think all the food was homemade, but to be honest, I don't think that was a realistic expectation as it's not advertised as such. "Freshly prepared" and "home cooked" are two separate entities. However, we were more than happy with the excellent food and presentation and obviously a lot of care had been taken over it, prior to it being served. I'm really pleased we tried this pub as we had been told by someone we know, to try another Wokingham establishment that they liked, but due to the proximity to where I needed to go, and the handy Pay and Display carpark right behind it, The Lord Raglan was perfectly suited for us. And we were both so impressed with everything, we will definitely be back. Great venue for family gatherings too it seems. So next time we may have a few more of us! A lovely meal. Varied menu...all food cooked beautifully... Our waitress Turrin was attentive and lovely. Hope to be back. Well recommended

Visited over lunch wasn’t too busy considering the park was very busy, ordered easily and quickly. The falafel sandwich I ordered was not what I expected - I was thinking the falafel would be flat with hummus instead it was whole falafel balls jammed in a sandwich- very strange and messy! Bit of a shame as not cheap..

Super Service, gutes Essen, tolle Lage jederzeit wieder, außerdem im Hof Möglichkeit mit WoMo oder Bus zu übernachten.

Great cafe. The hot chocolate is the best in the world BUT...... the last two occasions (in Wokingham and Bracknell) it has been diffferent. Not so ‘chocolatey’ as usual and with a slightly different flavour. Can you change back please!!

Visited Saturday 30th November for lunch. - Welcomed by a young man and shown to a table. Youngster needs to be told to greet customers with a smile and be friendly. -Sat at a table for a few minutes and needed to request a menu. -Ordered croque monsieur, vegetable wrap, coffee and water. Requested brown bread rather than white and told ok. - After several minutes water had failed to appear so asked a waitress. Told that our order had been lost! Re-ordered and advised not possible to have brown bread and coffees would be on the house. - Food came and was good. While eating the manager came to apologise and I did say that not impressed with customer service. I did point out that there on an adjacent table there was a small dog sitting on a chair with a customer. No problem with the dog being in the restaurant but on a chair! Hopefully when the customer left the chair was cleaned properly however I would have my doubts. - A table top was cleaned but under the table food and a knapkin were left. While paying the bill I did point out the cleanliness to the manager who did respond immediately. In my opinion the staff need to be trained properly and dress appropriately with midriffs covered. Unlikely to return to this restaurant in the near future.

Came here for a family lunch and just stayed for a drink as the place is really grubby! Needs a good clean! I would hate to look inside the kitchen. Definitely would not recommend. The marquee outside looked nice.

Honestamente viajé por todo el Reino Unido y probé muchos lugares diferentes, pero la comida y la calidad del servicio era excepcional. Simplemente exquisito. Recomendaría encarecidamente este lugar para visitar a todos los que buscan un buen desayuno y café seguido de altos estándares de servicio.

Great breakfast today. Decided to skip the full welsh and opted for the avocado and poached eggs on sourdough. Perfectly poached. Had 2 lattes so on a bit of a coffee high at the moment. Waitress kindly gave me a small jug of hot milk to add to them. The rainbow cake looked fantastic, hope it’s still on the menu next week. Love this place.

Excellent service, lovely food, good price, been quite a few times over the past ten years or so and can easily recommend a breakfast, a baguette, a roll... All with a smile. Freshly made to order and a great independent!

This café is such a great place to go have breakfast with your friends and family!! In my opinion the Turkish Borack is my favourite!! You need to go to Daisy love because I love it!

We had dinner and breakfast here as part of a hotel stay. The menus offered a wide range of interesting choices, and catering for dietary allergies was accommodated without difficulty. The food quality was very good and dinner portions plentiful. We did feel that particularly the drinks were quite expensive. The breakfast is a mix of buffet and table service. Whilst both dinner and breakfast was supported with attentive friendly service, the costs of the evening meals and drinks are exacerbated by the addition of a 10% service charge, which is a practice that we find annoying.

Vino con unos cuantos compañeros de trabajo mientras estábamos fuera por negocios y un jueves estaba lleno de gente joven ruidosa, sobre sustancia, borracha y emocional. Al entrar unas cuantas parejas y familias con perros, nos dirigimos hacia la mesa de billar y llenos de jóvenes vagabundos, gritando e intentando hacer un cuestionario, muy mal.
