The best restaurants serving British food in Wokingham South East

Ordered salad boxes and jacket potatoes for our office lunch. Absolutely perfect. Both were delicious and received great feedback from staff. Every item was labelled with the name which made it so much easier giving out the food. Would definitely recommend if you want good food for the office lunch!

Great breakfast today. Decided to skip the full welsh and opted for the avocado and poached eggs on sourdough. Perfectly poached. Had 2 lattes so on a bit of a coffee high at the moment. Waitress kindly gave me a small jug of hot milk to add to them. The rainbow cake looked fantastic, hope it’s still on the menu next week. Love this place.

We try steak double cheese pie and lamb mince pie, not bad,gravy also recommended

Came here for a family lunch and just stayed for a drink as the place is really grubby! Needs a good clean! I would hate to look inside the kitchen. Definitely would not recommend. The marquee outside looked nice.

Really lovely Sunday lunch, very relaxed atmosphere and staff couldn't be friendlier. Food was hot, delicious and just the right amount. A gf brownie for desert was an absolute bonus!

Several years since we have eaten here, but still as good as we remembered. Portion sizes are generous and, being freshly cooked, the meals were delicious. I never cook liver for myself but the lambs' liver here (in a rich gravy) was fabulous. My mother enjoyed the fish and chips (too much for her to finish). Despite being busy, the service was excellent and wait time was minimal.

We had dinner and breakfast here as part of a hotel stay. The menus offered a wide range of interesting choices, and catering for dietary allergies was accommodated without difficulty. The food quality was very good and dinner portions plentiful. We did feel that particularly the drinks were quite expensive. The breakfast is a mix of buffet and table service. Whilst both dinner and breakfast was supported with attentive friendly service, the costs of the evening meals and drinks are exacerbated by the addition of a 10% service charge, which is a practice that we find annoying.

Excellent service, lovely food, good price, been quite a few times over the past ten years or so and can easily recommend a breakfast, a baguette, a roll... All with a smile. Freshly made to order and a great independent!

Great food, especially the burgers, steaks and Sunday lunch. Good place for watching sport. Great atmosphere. Good value for money.

Visited over lunch wasn’t too busy considering the park was very busy, ordered easily and quickly. The falafel sandwich I ordered was not what I expected - I was thinking the falafel would be flat with hummus instead it was whole falafel balls jammed in a sandwich- very strange and messy! Bit of a shame as not cheap..

Great place great staff - special mention to Laura who served me, so nice to walk in to a place and greeted with a friendly smile I only popped in for a coffee, ended up staying for lovely lunch, and an awesome cappuccino 5 stars all round

Very clean , tidy place , staff and food is amazing. First fish and chips shop where staff is soo friendly and nice . We definitely recommend.
