Having had a pleasant lunch here, we decided to return to this lovely setting for dinner. Our experience was so different to the glowing reviews left by others, it seemed like a different restaurant. The menu was rather limited but we each chose the rack of ribs, mine the £15 version, his the £19 version. I am not a big meat eater which was just as well as the portion I received was tiny, dry and lacking any extra sauce. It came plonked on top of what were supposed to be cajun chips but they just tasted like dry chips. The worst though was the coleslaw - partly the reason I ordered the ribs as I am a sucker for lime and mint. What I got was a tiny dish with coarsely chopped cabbage, not one fleck of mint or taste of lime. Much as it is a treat to go out to dinner, I cook better meals at home. I'm afraid we won't be returning.

Thank you so much for an ACE sunday meal. The side room is perfect for a party of 10-12 people. The communication beforehand to discuss the dietary requirements was excellent and helpful. Thank you for sorting an off menu vegan nut roast, it was very well received . We were are welcomed (dogs as well) with smiles and lots of attention throughout. Sunday lunch was fantastic and watching the attentiveness of the Staff with all the patrons was a delight. Thank you to Owen (a big man with a big smile) and all the Staff. Will definitely visit again. A traditional pub with traditional beams (watch your head if your over 5’ 10”). Looking forward to my next outing. Had a meal with family at Horns on a Saturday evening, the menu choices are limited but that is a good thing because the few items that they do are done very well. I had the chicken terrine and ribs - both were excellent. My only criticism is the portion size is on the small size for the cost of the food. For example, my terrine was the size of a two finger KitKat with a tiny amount of salad on top plus a smear of dressing- for £7 that seemed pricey (or stingy on the portion size). The dining room is lovely and atmospheric and our waitress was excellent.

Nice setting and easy to find. The food was quite average (you’d cook better at home but nice not to have to wash up!). The kids menu is steep at £10 for just one course and a ice lollie. The kids food is really unhealthy and not home made (looks and tastes frozen). It’s a shame they stop serving food so early too. Would be great to invest in nice beer garden rather than plastic gazebos which are ugly. Beer was nice.

Visited for a family to celebrate my sisters birthday. The food was incredible, an amazing menu with the food cooked and served to an extremely high standard. The setting is gorgeous & the garden is well kept. The staff adhered to the COVID regulations well & it felt like a very safe place to be eating. The garden has many covered areas to allow for service in all kinds of weather. The owners went above and beyond to make this birthday meal special and we really appreciated it. Will definitely be returning soon (& frequently!). If you are in the area - do NOT give this place a miss! If you don’t go, you’ll regret it!

We wanted to take our motorhome out on it's first trip and saw The Horns on the pub stop over site, we were not disappointed. Jade and Owen made us feel very welcome. The service was top notch and the food was exceptional, especially the fish and chips, better than any chippie! it was quite a chilly evening, but the pub garden was very busy and we have no doubt that when restrictions are lifted in May, this will be a very popular pub, we and the motorhome will definitely be returning. There are also some excellent walks in the area.

Jade & Owen, the new tenants at the pub have taken over in rough times but have set their minds to providing the best they can to the local villagers and those lucky enough to find it on their bike rides and rambles. During lockdown they have provided a great selection of take away dishes (my only criticism would be for perhaps some lighter choices to ward off the lockdown pounds but it’s all very good quality pub favourites) The tempura fish and chips is yummy! They’re interested to hear your feedback and suggestions and are now home to a brilliant coffee truck and Sunday shop for local breads and essentials. It’s been a long time since our village pub felt part of the community and it’s great to have them, Looking forward to the end of lockdown and cosy nights back there.

Owen and Jade have made a great start as the new Landlord and Landlady at The Horns. They are so friendly and welcoming and know how to run a pub. We have eaten there twice before they closed for the November lockdown and on both occasions the food and service were excellent. All the safety factors were in place and well observed. These measures must add to the cost of hospitality but everything is great value and we appreciated being able to eat great food in a beautiful pub. We tried the new Lockdown takeaway service and I would recommend the Fish and Chips. Perfectly cooked and crispy and washed down with a great bottle of Pinot Grigio. They deserve every success.

Went for Sunday lunch with my retired parents for a celebration meal, on arrival lots of staff standing behind the bar at a loose end and there were only three other tables (at 1.30 on a Sunday, not a good sign). Anyway, the menu had a few options (all very hearty, not necessarily a bad thing) but was presented terribly, not even printed straight on a page. Which is again, all fine, if you're just a local pub serving pub food but the horns is now charging around £20 for a main (which is high for a pub, not unreasonable if the food is good). We ordered a cottage pie, a salmon steak and a chicken roast. All came with the same generic carrot/bean mix covering half the plate and the cottage pie was very small and very expensive, with my mother's salmon coming out with cold mash potatoes, which seems ridiculous seeing as we were one of three tables and the kitchen staff seemed to be chatting with the other staff behind the bar instead of cooking decent food! The service was ok, they popped over when we made eye contact but it's all a bit thrown together and overpriced for me to return. It's a lovely pub in a lovely position and I really hope these teething problems are ironed out as it is such a beautiful place.

We've been coming off and on for years but not so much for the past couple. Our walk through the woods was near enough to lunch time so we rang ahead and booked a table. We received a warm welcome and taking advantage of the weather whilst we can, sat outside. Service was friendly and very efficient. They are still working on their menu but it was varied with good choice for vegetarians. We enjoyed a starter of French onion tart and rocket. Mains for me was a dish of colourful and fresh stir fired vegetables with fine coriander noodles. For him, a rich hearty bowl of gnocchi with mixed mushrooms and a blue cheese sauce (a dish fit for a ski slope!). Lovely red by the glass (or two!). Everything was well presented and felt safe, clean, masked and social distanced. Well done The Horns. We will return before too long.

Went to The Horns twice within 3 days. First time was a Friday evening with my wife and the second time with my wife, nephew and his girlfriend. To get the drinks out of the way, wife enjoyed the glasses of Merlot she had. Nephew enjoyed the larger and I really enjoyed the Brakspear's bitter. I don't think it was the freshest pint I've ever had but still great! There is a limited menu but what they do is very good. A bit of a wait between ordering and being served with your food but acceptable in a small cosy establishment like this, very relaxing. My first meal was the steak and ale pie. I wasn't prepared for the size of it. Fabulous pastry stuffed full. Absolutely delicious; the pie could have been smaller and maybe the portion of chips larger...?My second mesl was the fish and chips. I can get very wary of batterd fish as batter can be excessively greasy and heavy but this batter was neither of these; it was light, crispy and tasty. The fish within was well cooked and delicious. As with the pie, my thought was that the portion of chips could have been bigger, but they were proper tasty chips. My wife had the vegetarian options each time and these too were goid portions and delicious. My nephew had a well presented tasty burger with loads of fillings and extras. His girl friend had the Sunday roast beef which was fantastic.Judging by the other tables everyone was enjoying their meals and from what I could see, all portions were reasonable. Great to see a small english country side pub doing ok and producing great food. Well worth a visit.

They offered extra gravy and had water jugs on the table and were also happy to bring out an extra Yorkshire pudding to go with my sons roast pork belly. Dropped in for lunch and I'm glad we did, baguette lovely and fresh with delicious fillings served with salad garnish and the best fries I've tasted in ages, lovely relaxed atmosphere and super friendly service, and excellent value too.

This bank holiday was special because not only did we have the weather we had Horns Fest. A well organised festival of Beer which came also with great food and top class entertainment. Our hosts made everyone feel welcome in a way that we were like extended family. As we worked our way through some tasty beers and fantastic Burgers the atmosphere was always one of inclusion meaning that of the hundreds passing through during the two days everyone left knowing they had ,had a most pleasant trip to an excellent venue. Thanks to our hosts Sandra and Adam and your staff.

The Horns was the pub with always a good Sunday lunch but based on our experience today the standards have seriously slipped, although the prices have not.Vegetables bland with rock hard overdone roast potatoes and average meat, the pub was quiet for a Bank holiday Sunday so maybe people are voting with their feet. The prices have always been higher here for both beer and food, a pint is now £4+ But if the food is good we don't mind paying their prices.

A few months ago we decided to have our wedding reception at The Horns. This was the best decision we ever made (apart from getting married of course). Sandra and her team made the day so special for us, nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious. The advice Sandra gave us running up to the big day was invaluable, and she so many great ideas. The Horn's gave us our perfect wedding day, a relaxed and personal experience which was just what we hoped for.We would strongly recommend looking at The Horns as a venue for any celebration (big or small) as they made it such a great occasion. We would also recommend popping in for lunch, dinner or just a drink as its a wonderful place with excellent food.

We have been to this pub a number of times and never fail to be welcomed by Sandra and Adam and the great pub that they have managed to establish. This time, we had rented the pub out for a family member's 50th birthday party, the event was unbelievable! From start to finish Sandra and Adam planned and delivered an event that will live long in memory. The standard of the food delivered by the kitchen was above and beyond anything that we had expected, made even more impressive by the fact that they catered for 60 people a la carte! I cannot recommend this pub enough for events and parties, we had a great time and I know that anyone else booking a party here can be sure that it will be one to remember!

Our hosts at a nearby B & B suggested eating at the Horns and we were very grateful for their recommendation. The barn-like room is fascinating with an amazing variety of pictures on the walls. There is enough space between tables and no piped music so it is easy to talk. The beer is good and the food really interesting, so much so that we returned next day for more. My husband loved his belly of pork and rib eye steak with duck fat chips and I really enjoyed the bass. I wish we lived nearer.

We arrived on Saturday for a "pre Henley fireworks" meal with 4 more people than expected. Nothing was too much trouble and a small table was found and added to our seating plan. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the food did not disappoint. We had soup which was tasty and fish and chips.....by the end of the meal all the plates were clean! Other people ate the lamb which was equally good. It is an attractive pub with a large characterful barn at the end and a big garden, Although a little out of the way it is worth the effort and we will definitely be going again!!

What a lovely pub this is, with a gorgeous large garden (separate decked area with tables, grassed area with tables, substantial climbing frame & goal-posts) great food, fabulous service and really lovely staff. Would recommend highly to anyone in the area, rain or shine, looking for a family lunch with the kids or a session with your mates. Can't think of a single negative!

Love the latest decor here and staff were very welcoming. Came for Sunday lunch and discovered a garden to visit nearby too. Very nicely presented meal and well cooked with great desert choices. Will visit again.

We visited for Sunday lunch and it was disappointing. The pork was fatty, but the beef seemed better and was cooked to preference. Choice of veg was tiny - carrots and cabbage in a small bowl for 2The potatoes were burnt and tough to cut through. Yorkshire pud tasted burnt. It is expensive and nowhere near as good for Sunday lunch as other local places.

We were given a warm welcome and shown to a table in a room full of atmosphere. The restaurant was packed but the service was still excellent. We had a delicious Sunday roast and a naughty but very nice sticky toffee pudding. The wine choice was good and not too expensive. There were several big groups of friends and families and some other couples. An excellent choice for Sunday lunch

Great breakfast today. Decided to skip the full welsh and opted for the avocado and poached eggs on sourdough. Perfectly poached. Had 2 lattes so on a bit of a coffee high at the moment. Waitress kindly gave me a small jug of hot milk to add to them. The rainbow cake looked fantastic, hope it’s still on the menu next week. Love this place.

Food usually very good but I had a sandwich today that I think must have been yesterday's as it was very dry and tough to eat.

Arrived with my daughter for a Brush Party which was a birthday present. She bought a large diet coco cola and an apple and raspberry J2O for which she was charged £6.80. Later, I purchased the exact same things and was told - by the same barmaid - it was £6.90. The 10p is neither here nor there but when I pointed it out she merely shrugged her shoulders - as if to say "so what?" There was no suggestion of rechecking the price or an apology. I fully realise that gone are the days of "the customer is always right" but a simple offer to recheck the price and a simple sorry would have cost nothing. Now, however, you have a poor review, bad "word of mouth" and a customer who will never return.
