Took my son for a Sunday dinner treat at this quaint pub , on the outskirts of the village. Admittedly, third choice of venue, more local pubs were busy… this one , perhaps tellingly was not. Staff , pleasant enough- shown to our table and service quickly made. The carvery had the usual choice of 3 meats, roast potatoes & decent Yorkshire pudding- just the vegetables to help yourselves to - not a massive choice. Plates could have been warmed ( food got a bit tepid towards the end ) and also could have been cleaner - I had to swap a plate over before having my dinner served on it. Not sure about the ( presumably) member of staff stepping out the kitchen munching on a roast potato, while walking around the restaurant.. All minor details, until I paid the bill- which for 2 carvery dinners & three & a half pints of Inches cider totalled £57.55 . I didn’t think that was particularly good value, and was told I couldn’t have a receipt, so I couldn’t see the price breakdown. Shame ☹️

A lovely lunch today … tasty shepherds pie my partner had the lamb shank, which was beautifully cooked. I would highly recommend a visit to Waterside cafe, great food at a reasonable price, welcoming staff and all in a great setting overlooking beautiful lake! Will be back again!

Stopped here for lunch to break up a long journey home. It is a magical place and we had a delicious pub lunch outside in the October sun. The food was first rate. Great to see the steam train going past. Didn't make it up to see the high rocks but hopefully next time!

Var en tur i Calverley Grounds for en gåtur og da der kom en regn byge valgte vi at gå ind i denne lille hyggelig cafe. Her er servering både inde og ude. Hyggelig typisk engelsk.

We tried the new Clocktower Bistro expecting mediocre food. We were pleasantly surprised at the service (very busy) and delighted with our lunch, a creamy jacket potato with cheese and home made coleslaw plus a good crisp. side salad...all for £6.50. Great value will use regularly.

The restaurant is situated in a quaint greenhouse that has seen better days but that doesn’t detract from the fabulous attitude and effort the staff put in to deliver great food. Adele was our main staff member with a super knowledgeable attitude and demeanour. We had a tomato and basil starter followed by a lovely fresh generous portion of trout steak surrounded by a beetroot jus/sauce. Truly fantastic with the ultra fresh greens and leeks and baby boiled potatoes. The freshness of the product is overwhelming. Do try the verbena/citrus drink topped with tonic! We finished with blackberry sorbet/ice cream as we were getting quite full. Lovely afternoon in the Autumn sunshine!

Great place to drop into if you want a quick cup of coffee (and/or snack). The service is quick and friendly and the coffee is good. You can either drink it in your vehicle or at the outdoor tables (with good views across the surrounding countryside), as long as it's not raining or cold.
