Although the server, Amelia, was absolutely so oung her best, stayed cheerful and polite, the fact remained that the small sign that ' half coffee machine' was not working was only at her till did not help the enormously long queue forming. If the sign had be put up at the point the queue devided, it could have saved a lot of people a long wait. I also object to several managers and colleagues popping by and vanishing again instead of helping Amelia in any way or informing the crowd of the issue with the coffee machine. Poor Amelia - you did great, but I felt for you.

We stopped by on our way to visit a friend, and were very impressed with the delicious coffees and brunch. It is a lovely place to visit, and the staff are a huge credit. A particular thanks to Ange M - who went out of her way to serve us and help out. Much appreciated. Thank you.

We come here every week to meet with work colleagues as we all work remote. I love the dog-friendly section as not only can I bring my dog but often lovely to see some of the elderly customers sitting in that area too as they love stroking the dogs. It is so nice to have a cafe that allows dogs and by having a separate section you know that those that may be scared of dogs can sit elsewhere and are not bothered by them. Well done Notcutts we will be returning. Oh, and the staff are super friendly too.

We always enjoy coming to Notcutts, extensive range of plants and other products. The meals are good but we would really appreciate some healthy options for puddings. Could you not sell organic yogurts?

Plenty of parking, clean and organised eatery with efficient staff. There are lots of nice tables and comfortable seats. Prices are fair. Thoroughly enjoyed the sausage rolls though their scones are perfect!

Such a warm welcoming place for both people and dogs. Enjoying our morning tea ,coffee and cake in the dog friendly section of the restaurant sharing and chatting with like minded people. Then leisurely shopping in the well stocked garden centre and Christmas and gift areas.

Large but able to cope with the large numbers that visit. Cleverly designed so that most travel through centre, restaurant and 'shop' areas before paying and exiting. We understand access/entrance through exit doors direct to restaurant available if needed. Our first visit but many others making regular returns. Cafe/restaurant was heaving but still coping and choice of food excellent (indoor/outdoor tables). There is also an on site butchers with many 'bargain' deals that looked really good. There is also a small Play Area near exit that our 3 yr old grandchild enjoyed. Very relaxed, friendly and welcoming staff

Very good coffees in a pleasant cafe with views of the gardens. Would have been nice if the two girls serving this morning smiled and made eye contact. Appeared bored with their jobs sadly.

i’m writing to say how great and wonderful 3 members of staff particularly were today. (Sophie Laura and Amber) -Thursday 12th September. Not only did they work well as a team helping each other out with taking the food out quickly to tables while clearing and cleaning. They also made sure customers were happy with the food and drinks while sorting any problems out if there was any. The restaurant was really busy and they were rushed off their feet, but they didn’t let that stop them rushing round with a smile on their faces which made our experience wonderful. We just wanted them to get a pat on the back as hospitality is a hard sector to work in but they are smashing it.

I’d heard it’s now dog friendly here so I took my beloved dog along with me to browse, shop, meet family and dine. We arrived early and I was hungry so stopped at the restaurant and checked that yes indeed there is a dedicated dog friendly seating area within the restaurant, 12 tables so plenty of room. Not only that but they’d bring over my tray of coffee and bacon bap to me which was a great relief rather than trying to balance it with a dog on a lead. We were made to feel very welcome. After we browsed the wonderful selection of plants, pots, soil and all and made my purchases we left looking forward to return again.

Love it here. Staff are friendly and helpful. Having the dog friendly area is a great addition to the restaurant!! Breakfast was lovely! I was also about to change some items too.

Great food and friendly staff. Coffee a bit tepid. Although dog area which is nice for dog owners sadly one very loud barking one making it hard to hear conversation.

We wanted you to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea and scones at the Tunbridge Wells garden centre. I phone to find out if dogs are allowed and was told “Not only are they allowed, they are encouraged”. When we arrived, there was a special area dedicated just for families with dogs. We will definitely be back to enjoy their delicious food again.

Went for a coffee and lovely scones . A greet place for breakfast or lunch and the designated area for people wi the dogs is great.

We popped in for a drink and snack. Was really pleased that they were so accommodating with our dietary requirements and as an added bonus we could bring in dogs into the restaurant with us 👏🏼. Would definitely recommend. Also Michaela’s amazing, love her energy.

At last Nocutts have allowed our four legged companions to accompany us in a designated area in the restaurant. Beats having to sit out in the cold while sampling the delicious food on offer. Our trips to the Pembury Nocutts Garden Centre are now on a regular basis and is a lovely garden centre with so much to choose from. 😀

Such a great place to enjoy coffee and a slice of irresistible cake. It was so nice to be able to take our puppy into the dog friendly area of the restaurant. No more sitting outside in the cold! There is a lot to browse at in the shop and the gardening area, which has plenty of plants and gardening supplies.

It was nice to see a dog area within the restaurant but I feel it would get more use if signage was placed at the entrance to the restaurant, instead walking to the dog area first and asking a customer did they walk through or entry via the French doors to the patio area For reference you can walk through the restaurant with your dog

Fantastic to have a dog-friendly zone, so we could bring our border terrier too. The staff were very helpful to keep the tables clear so dog owners are able to find a space.

Great to take an anxious dog you can’t leave at home out with to somewhere that has a small corner dedicated to dogs all year round. Instead of waiting for summer to have to sit outside. Should have allowed dogs sooner!

A very good garden centre with everything you could possible need for your garden, your home and yourself. Friendly, helpful staff and a very good cafe with a good choice of snacks and drinks.

Visited on Thursday 26th Oct with a friends young children and my slightly older kids. Fabulous Christmas displays and Halloween scavenger hunt - great for all ages and a good toy section, park and cafe. The staff at this centre were brilliant - very friendly. I would like to make a special mention of the lady working on her own on the small coffee till in the restaurant between 12-1, she treated every customer with such care and attention. A few of the customers before me had tricky orders or mobility issues and she was so caring towards them, a real asset to your store.

Very disappointed in our Cote de boeuf we bought when visiting our Daughter, we always look at them and decided to get one this time. I can cook steak and was very disappointed how tough it was, in fact I couldn’t eat it, my husband also found it difficult to eat, the dog was ok, I cooked it medium rare, but my local butcher’s ribeyes are beautiful, such a shame, maybe that’s why it is always on offer?

Used as a pit stop. Decent coffee shop, we had baked potatoes. Pleasant and efficient staff, nice environment. But good heavens it's a long and awkward descent from the car park, and it is a challenge for people who are less than nimble.

Just come from visiting relative in the nearby hospital. That was stressful and the universally cherry staff at Notcutts lifted our spirits. Food was outstanding too. We've now found a place to go when we need a break: and not just from a hospital visit.

Food was sparse, plenty of white plate visible! Sausage ciabatta also had plenty of blank space and no sign of the onion chutney. No consistency between portion sizes as my dad had the same, with a full bun and enough chips to justify the price....

There's not many places to stop for a drink on the A21 between the M25 and Goudhurst but The Kitchen at Notcutts Garden Centre is one of them. There's plenty of places to sit, both inside and outside. It was towards closing time but the staff were still friendly after what must have been a long day. Soya milk was available for my wife, who is Gluten Free but everything else was normal for a garden centre cafe

As irregular weekday visitors we find weekends to be a very dfferent experience altogether. The food here is always good. There can be a wait during busy periods, which is "normal" in most places.

The Gardeners Breakfast are really good value, but on our last couple of visits we've had to send the breakfasts back as half the food was cold (beans and mushrooms in particular). This could be easily resolved if those plating up the food didn't leave half the plate sitting out over the front of the counter and not under the hot lights. Unfortunately they are busy and try to plate up too many breakfasts in one go.

Superfood salad hmm nothing super about this food. 45 minuets for a ploughman's and a salad - rudely spoken by a mid twenties dark hair waitress. Wrong food brought to the table. Just saddened by something that has brilliant potential!

Been here a few times visiting the local hospital nearly opposite, and just for a visit to get some plants, the Garden Centre cafe is really nice, does a wonderful breakfast for a good price for what you get, good array of seating to and you can sit outside if you wish, the tables are kept nice and clean to, you are given an electronic tracker to put on your table, so they know where you are sitting, very good and not bad service to, will definitely come back!

Is what you come to expect at a garden center cafe, a good range of cakes but overpriced coffee served in mugs that look fancy but actually dont give you a lot to drink. Reasonable selection of sandwiches but I think you would be better off going for coffee and cake at brunch than for lunch.

Never had a bad visit here. Always enjoy the free hot drinks for I members. Friendly service, clean tables, impressive jacket spud , very plentiful. Sausage in ciabatta tasty. Easy parking, clean facilities.

We like visiting this garden centre and often use the restaurant. We haven't ever had problems with service (although the younger members of staff look half asleep). The food we find is usually hot and good quality. The past 3 times we have been I have ended up with a basil oil dressing on my plate. With tuna mayo jacket potato, ham egg and chips! And this morning with my poached eggs on ciabatta. None of those meals call for basil oil and it's such a strong flavour it completely over powers the food. I asked if there was a comment card or feedback form but nobody seemed to know. Disappointing, if we visit again I shall be requesting NO oil whatever it is I order.

Crap service as usual. Why do they bother? Takes ages and ages to get anywhere. Not worth the wait for the average food served.

Weird service area. Took two drinks from the fridge that the girl on the checkout then took out into the kitchen to change for cold ones! As if that doesn’t slow the checkout down she then has to take your food order and punch it into the till and then make any teas or coffees. What a strange system causing unnecessary delays. We ordered sausage ciabattas and chips which took a long time to arrive and when they did the ciabattas not only looked like baguette’s they were really dried up with no butter in them and the onion relish was cold in a pot rather than how it sounded hot in the ciabatta. Not very good value for money and not something I would recommend and won’t be repeating anytime soon.

Had Sunday lunch here a couple of days ago. Waited in a queue to order for the best part of half an hour. Perhaps it would be an idea to separate the drinks and food service areas? menu limited and food quality average. Overall a pretty dispiriting experience. I accept that this is a Garden Centre and not a Michelin star restaurant but there are nicer places to go that are within the same price range - Wyevale in TW for one.........

On the plus side, the food is freshly prepared however the ciabattas and sandwiches lack any butter or mayo, by the time the food actually arrives you've finished your drinks, and the tables were a bit grubby.

Sausage was tasty but only just warm Ciabatta was cold....no butter Onions lukewarm Chips hot and tasty Tea was weak and hardly piping hot Overall food here has been reducing in quality on each visit ....disappointed!

I have complained about this place previously and here I am complaining again. Do you really think these burnt ciabattas are acceptable? It’s not even a ciabatta it’s a bit of french stick!!! Waited 45 minutes to be served this on Saturday. Absolutely disgusting. Certainly won’t be returning now.

I am reluctant to give poor reviews particularly with this place because it is a nice place to take my elderly mother and has always been ok in the past. I do though feel obliged to warn people about the cod and chips I had yesterday. The restaurant was as usual crowded and with a warning that meals would take 30 minutes to be delivered. The food turned up impressively in about 10 minutes. When I tried the fish, it was strangely rubbery with a very rubbery bit down the middle of the fish. It also smelt off, so I took it back and they brought another one. Unfortunately, that was not much better. I suspected it either wasn’t cod or was off and wrote the chef a note to that effect. However, after doing a bit of research it may just be it had been over-cooked or reheated. Whatever, coming from Hastings I eat a lot of cod and chips and this is the worst I can ever remember and won’t be repeating the experience until someone can reassure me it won’t happen again.

First checked online for lunch start times - nothing found. Turns out it starts at 12.00. Why not tell us public. Stood around at 11.53am, saw the brunch/breakfast on menu, husband asked for it but she said it's not avail now. it was before 12.00.

So we arrived at 11.45 and tried to order a brunch which is served from 10.30-12 told we couldn't as it had finished. Asked to order some lunch and couldn't as it was 11.52 and lunch service is at 12.

Just had Sunday lunch. Not coming back again on a Sunday not worth the money. Served on a 9 in plate, s slices turkey. Wish we had gone to a Toby or Wetherspoons. Not impressed.

Could die of hunger waiting at the till. Cobwebs grew on me while I waited. Definitely need some organisation here.

A very brief visit and time for a quick snack. A nice modern eatery. I assume some of the produce comes from the in house butchers. A good selection of cakes and traybakes too. Have to say everything worked well. My sausage could have been hotter, and it was served in a baguette as opposed to the advertised ciabatta. But, was very nice nevertheless.

The queuing system is total madness, it’s over priced and the staff seem to get told very little by the management as when we went and asked two different members of staff a question we were told two different things the manager had told them. Unfortunately this place is starting to believe it’s something far better than it is..

My wife & I come here for coffee fairly regularly and for the occasional Sunday lunch. Queues are pretty horrendous due to the hot drinks being served at the tills and food waiting times can be extended, as on Sunday when we last visited, and it was not particularly busy either. Food is better than average and the ability to sit outside in a pleasant terrace area is most welcome.

We have visited many branches of Notcutts and found the restaurants excellent. Not so here. The queuing system is ridiculous. Queue for food. Queue for cappuccino (although not on a Saturday as the coffee stand was closed at noon) then queue to pay... for 20 minutes by which time hot food is stone cold. This really needs sorting as it ruins the whole experience.

Delicious food. Good quality. Especially with your sage card allowing you buy one get one free three times a year and two cups of coffee a month free also. Does get very busy at main lunch time which does mean a long wait for food. Wheelchair friendly.

Bring an elderly relative here each week, it's always been a bit average but a recent menu change has made things worse. Lots of stodge, little in the way of healthy eating choices. Have also changed cake selection to a sponges with loads of icing,all now unappealing and the wait can be awful. We've had a refund on a few occasions as it was so bad

Visited the garden centre today with my other half and our daughter. We grabbed some food for lunch and my other half had a hot dog - two sausages in a bit of baguette, with a few onions. He could not see an advertised price for this. He chose a bottle of squash too. The total price for both items came to £9.50! We were both dumbstruck at this absurd price - how in earth can this be justified ? Pic added below, to show just how ridiculous this is! Seriously taking the pee!

My husband and I have been here on at least two occasions for lunch in the week. We always get there early about 12 to 12:15 to avoid a lengthy queue at the till. There is always a good choice on the menu food is promptly served and fresh it always seems very popular even in the week so I would imagine at weekends you would be prepared for a longer wait . They always seems plenty of staff and the tables were always cleared quickly

It's the second time in a couple of months since I've been. We had jacket potatoes with coleslaw. The potatoes were overcooked and the coleslaw was in big pieces and not pleasant to eat. The service was good and the drinks were had were great. As it is the second time I have been disappointed with the jacket potatoes. I will visit again but will choose carefully next time. Its a shame as its a lovely place for a drink. Lunch or snack.

Lovely staff and setting. Always enjoy the free hot drinks for members! Hot choc with Jaffa cakes looked delicious. Prices are good. Easy parking. Loads of nice gifts to peruse. Often get good discount with member card. Fab butchers, try the scotch eggs!

Very nice garden centre at Penbury nr Tunbridge Wells and has a good restaurant and offers good variety of hot and cold food. Worth a try.
