Found the manageress less than child friendly and often quite rude. It's a shame because otherwise it would be nice.

First pub we tried on our stop-over and in hindsight the dearest. We live 90 miles away so were infamiliar with the local pricing though thought it a bit steep. after, having visited a few others, realised the cost was double. The pub itself though dark, had some character. Add carpets, some decoration above the bar, lighten it up and it could be very nice. But, address the pricing.

Having visited before, the experience was enjoyable. Yet, this time I walked out almost as soon as I walked in. Having reached the bar, I asked if cash was accepted. Unfortunately not! So I left to find a place that would. If you want to lose custom because you won’t accept cash, that is up to you. But I won’t be back with my card.

Not bad but can be much better. A bit of elbow grease cleanliness can be much improved and the selection of drinks can also be looked at. The day we visited there was no Guiness and some lager was out of stock as well. Hope you had a really busy day to say you don't have certain drinks. On the plus side the building is beautiful and with character, and a bonus is the decent size rear garden (wich needs a bit of tidying up weedol and a good sweep will do the trick). All in all potential on the horizon, expected better but cannot say that we are fully dissapointed as it was a good dri k on a hot summer evening. Try it and give us your impressions or thoughts

So I came into the pub as I had been told they’ve just started food so I thought I’d give this pub a second chance after the last grotesque visit I had. I was wrong. Walked to the very dirty dead bar to be told on day 2 of them suppling their customers with food that “the chef has gone home because he’s too hungover” Are you kidding me? Whoever is “running” this pub needs to give it up and try a new career. This was the 3rd and last visit. The last two visits I was surrounded by feral kinds who I assume live here whilst another eating his toenails at the table. (I also think he lives here) I think it’s safe to say I wont be returning.

I went here with one of my great friends, the footballer R Horn. R is one of the best footballers to have played the beautiful game and he always talks about the importance of a good pint after. Always graceful on the pitch and, said with love, disgraceful in the bar after, Mr Horn is a legend. We all love him, we love it when he shows us his clips of times gone by and we cannot wait to see him out kicking the pigs bladder again. The Prince of Wales is a wonderful venue for sharing stories, having a great pint and a lot of fun. Highly recommended.

We love this pub, in the heart of Tunbridge Wells. When we first moved we went for a drink and met the most wonderful man, Brian. He went to the Prince every night, without fail, for two pints of bitter. We hadn't been around for a while and decided to go tonight to catch up with Brian over nightcap. His table was empty, the lovely staff told us the news we were so sorry to hear - our old friend has passed away. We think he was 90 years old and he had the most incredible and interesting stories that you could listen to for hours - we did, many times. We feel so lucky to have known him and so sad that he has gone. We will miss him very much, he was a true gent xx

One of the nicer things about shopping in Tunbridge Wells has always been a lunch stop at the PoW, nice atmos, good value home cooked food, reasonably priced. We hadn’t been for several months and last time it was disappointing; small portions, bit pedestrian, but everyone has an off day, right? Pre- holiday shopping trip today we decided to give it another go. No specials anymore and the standard menu hadn’t really changed, but one nee item, frittata, looked interesting so mrs had that snd I went for a fave, mac n cheese w/ salad n ciabatta with a side of fries. £19 the lot. A piece of the frittata main event that looked less of a portion and more of a dirty plate, 4cm x 8cm wedge. Ok not great but it was tasty enough. So no salad no ciabatta and an egg cup of fries, irritating but wtf. Fork into the mac n cheese - no mac. Seriously. Fusilli pasta, barely drained so the cheese sauce, which had obviously been caught on the bottom due to the smokey bitter taste, was watery. I took it back and was initially greeted with ‘it’s pasta’. Remember that time you bought a spaniel and the guy handed you a Pekinese and explained it was still a dog? Initial stupidity over, the barmaid became an exemplar of customer service; offer of alternative, free drink both of which I declined, opting for a refund of the £10. Terrible experience in a now soulless pub. Will only return on a change of management or zombie apocalypse (if there’s nowhere else)

We were looking forward staying here, but so disappointing our massages got cancelled two days before staying, the room was disappointing toilet was running water all night and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever stayed in, mattress so hard that I even tried sleeping in the chair in the room. Dated rooms and bathroom needs attention, plug didnt fit the bath and the coffee and tea tray had to put the kettle on the floor as no socket for it. Room service approx hour wait for a sandwich, to be fair it was a really good sandwich though. Breakfast very tasty but over 45 minutes wait and had a hair on the sausage! Also had to ask for our toast as got forgotten and the staff were so rushed that you couldn't even talk to them. Staff all rushed off their feet so no reflection on them, poor management I suspect not hiring enough people and trying to get them to do too much. Also walls are paper thin in the rooms, can hear when people are going to the toilet and hear full conversations. Needs work to get it up to par for a 4 star hotel.
