The best restaurants serving British food in Reading South East

Some changes need to be made it’s need updating and maybe looking after the loyal customers More variety on the menu Lovely staff ! Maybe give them a uniform . Kept very clean I’ve seen the other cafe and it’s totally different to this one have the owners no interest in this one anymore?

Entró el sábado por la noche antes de ir al teatro. El personal era muy servicial y atento a nuestras necesidades, a pesar de que estaba bastante ocupado. La comida era excelente y servida con prontitud.

Este es uno de esos pubs a los que te atraen y siempre intento venir cuando estoy en la ciudad. Aunque en el centro de Reading el exterior sencillo probablemente no llame la atención de los transeúntes. Visitado un sábado por la tarde con un grupo de amigos y siempre es interesante echar un vistazo a la selección de cerveza, tanto en grifo como embotellada, antes de decidir qué probar. El área del bar es bastante pequeña, con paredes y techo cubiertos de colchonetas de cerveza, pero hay algunos "apretados" en el pasillo trasero. Hay un área al frente con un par de bancos tipo picnic, un lugar agradable para sentarse cuando el clima es propicio. No se sirve comida, pero noto que tienen huevos encurtidos y patatas fritas!

Good selection of local pints. Glasses so good you can take them home with you! The food is cheap enough to feed my hungry children.

Me sirvieron comida fría y muy vieja y luego me dijeron que no podían reembolsarme ya que estaba en contra de la política. . . incluso después de reconocer que la comida estaba fría y añeja, el miembro del personal se negó a devolverme el dinero y me dijo que el gerente no lo permitiría. ¡Evite este lugar a toda costa!

Lovely Sunday roast with the family. Food is always delicious and service was top tier. Thank you to Lucian for looking after us and providing awesome service!

Great service, drinks came very quickly and lovely staff!!! The bottomless brunch is very worth it, it’s the best in Reading and drinks came almost every 5 minutes. Would absolutely recommend and the food is delicious!!!

It's a very chill place. It's not a pretentious fake place filled with people that look and feel the same. They, and their clientele are lucky to have been able to create a place that feels like home, and is recreational at the same time.

All the food was stone cold was saying out for delivery for 45 mins.

Food was very poor, tried this place twice now, both times very dissapointing, won't be using again.

Left my food on the side to go cold and forgot my large sausage so had to wait for it to be cooked checked my food before leaving and when got home I had no sausage an food was cold ( only live 3 mins away ) what a waste !!

A family Christmas party with 5 adults and 2 babies. Food was amazing lots to choose from the Christmas menu for both adults and children. Made to feel very welcome, special table set up, Christmas cards for all. Food hot and beautifully presented. Would HIGHLY recommend and will DEFINITELY book again for 2025. Thank you Karen and all the team.

Unfortunately it appeared so understaff that the staff working were incredibly busy and overwhelmed. It took 20 minutes to clear our plates and a further 20 minutes to get us the bill. We wanted desserts but didn’t bother waiting in the end. When we asked for the dessert menu, the server brushed us off and said how busy she was. She was very rude but I expect she was just feeling a lot of pressure. We felt the waiting around and lack of server attention spoilt the meal for us. Our table was also dirty, sticky and the wasn’t very pleasant. Unfortunately we wouldn’t return.

My family and I were served today by Patrick who was very prompt and accommodating and made our whole Toby experience a great one
