Good selection of local pints. Glasses so good you can take them home with you! The food is cheap enough to feed my hungry children.

Overall for the price you pay the food quality is great, marketed as a slightly up market pub food and boasting fresh ingredients (inc. salad and buns) as well as a big drinks selection I would definitely recommend. There isn't a great variety of foods on the menu and I would say they cater to primarily day dining rather and evening food. Food is delivered by an alarm system in which you go and collect your food when your alarm sounds and is great for those people who hate the constant awkwardness of a waiter hanging round your table.

I have enjoyed frequenting the university bar at London Road with friends throughout my time at university. I have never witnessed staff being aggressive, rather that they are actually extremely friendly and helpful. Music in the establishment is always quite reasonable and I like the fact that they have a juke box. London Road Eat and Drink is, for the most part, a bar that is frequented by students who do not wish to go to a club but also by many locals who it seems are very welcome. This is one of the many reasons I prefer this bar to some others on campus and in town. The food menu is pretty good and I've heard that it's improving over the summer. The staff do listen to constructive criticism and do their best to accommodate customers. I think the prices are extremely reasonable. That being said, London Road Eat and Drink is not a place where people go to get drunk and stay up until all hours. It is a place to meet friends and relax. All being said, I would whole heartedly recommend anyone to attend if they are in the area. The staff will make you feel welcome and at home.

"Cotton Club" used to be the second best place for a drink on the University campus, after, of course, Park House. Nowadays it could still probably pull off that title - speaking more about the standards of the other places on campus than here. In the last few months, staff have been becoming ever more unfriendly. They cater, essentially, for first year students who didn't make it into a club that night, and no one else. They frequently turn the jukebox music down when it is a song they don't like, and up again when it's a song that they do (think clubbing music). They also physically assault, threaten, and insult their customers purely on assumptuous whims. What's worse, when one actually makes a complaint about this the manager simply brushes it off with "oh they're just having a bad day." Drinks are still cheaper than most other places, and their ale selection is generally nice, but they are increasingly getting more and more expensive. The food is also, quite simply, not very good. They're still nice as the only place open past 00:00 that isn't Wetherspoons, but don't expect a great experience: for the days appear gone from when Cotton Club would offer one.

Nipped in here for a cuppa whilst waiting for an appointment. I ordered a tea and was extremely disappointed - I've seen dishwater with a better colour on it, and it most certainly wasn't the robust blend I had ordered. Prices are low - and if anything reflect the nature of the place - it's an eaterie aimed at students at the University's London Road campus. Not a place if you fancy a decent cuppa tea, to be honest. Disappointing.

Eat and Drink is very much operating at the budget end of the market and for the prices you pay (£2 for a fosters, burger £4.50) it is pretty exceptional. You obviously can't expect five star service at these prices however the service was warm and welcoming and the quality of food was better than many more expensive restaurants. Definately one of the best cheap eats in Reading and not a chain!

London is a great bar for students and the public, very reasonably priced food and drink, with several large flat screens and 2 pool tables. Staff are friendly and it has a great location being on London road and on London road campus

Just had the nachos which were lovely. Very modern feel to the whole place and you get a little alarm thing that beeps when your food is ready to collect. They've also got a large TV with a Wii. Prices are reasonable and they do private bookings. Plan to visit again soon.

Fantastic pub! Best in Reading but if you fancy a Carling and/or want to watch the footy go to O'Neill's. Proper old style pub serving real ales, real cider/perry and mead, but they do, do Czech Budv
