Came in on a tuesday and the food was buy one get one half price! Had lovely food and the service was amazing. Spoke to the new owner Robyn and im planning to come back for the famous poker night! Great choice of drinks and lovely atmosphere can't wait to see what else they have planned

I heard this place was under new management, and after an awful visit last summer I decided to retry We popped in for a drink and a spot of lunch, the menu looked like it had an overhaul and the choices were great. I had the spicy clucker, maybe not enough heat for me, but the flavour and quality were plenty! Will be returning in the near the future

Been coming in here for about a year now and it’s a shame to see the way the pub is going. Losing the old management and now all of the original tuns staff has made such a difference. Atmosphere has completely gone and new owners have changed the most popular beers and food menu. Sad to say we won’t be returning

The three meat monster plate with vegetables, for two was more than enough.The gravy was so delicious. In general I would definitely recommend it. We had tea as well.

Wonderful news the Three Tuns is no longer managed by idiots who closed the pub whenever they liked. Robin, the manager/landlady, is keeping to the advertised opening hours. She's also friendly and chatty.

Local not been for several years, lots of pub choice in the area. Service ok, not busy but a small wait. Snacks ok. Went for the footie but limited volume, may be a technical glitch. Decent beer and snacks. Got dropped off at the garage opposite, lots of people mentioned the over zealous parking system. Decent interior, clean, tidy, friendly staff and ok clientele. Will give it another go for the footie

The big problem with this pub is the parking. The parking company they use will insist on you paying a fine even if you are a bona fide customer. Other reviewers have complained about this. You get referred to debt collectors even if you supply proof of custom. They say you haven't registered (I've registered my car here many times), but there's no proof if you registered or not. It amounts to extortion. And what amazes me is that the pub doesn't seem to realise that this puts customers off. I certainly won't risk it again.

Delicious food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere (the vegetarian Sunday roast is sublime!).

Thursday quiz- good fun. Feels smaller in the inside than it looks from the outside but large bar with good range of draughts

Exactly what we needed at the time, I'm sure there would be more atmosphere if it wasn't empty. Weekday lunchtime visit.

Avoid at all costs. Group of 8 of us went visited after a football tournament & we ALL received parking charge notices. When contacted (with receipts and proof of our custom), the pub ignorantly dismissed us without sympathy stating there are signs up about parking (clearly they are not visible enough after dark). To make matters worse, we did not hear back about our appeal & the fine has been moved to debt recovery agency and gone up to £170. We won’t be visiting again. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Ross and and his crew are very professional with your visit. That also includes, Georgina, Dan, Jake, and the others. The staff are always very welcoming and you sense a pride of a great team who cares about your experience. There is plenty of space to choose a from, with a nice selection of food and drinks. Their food is delicious, especially their Chef’s specials. Always looking forward to the next visit.

Ross and his chefs did an amazing job today. We had the back part of the pub as private hire for my son’s Birthday meal. 10 children & 12 adults - everything was seamless & nothing was too much trouble.Delicious food, and great portions for kids meals. Ross was pleasure to communicate and organise the party with. Highly recommend.

Great Thursday night quiz with dinner too. Sea bass was delicious! Service friendly.

Two of us go for a drink after work on a Friday and we have always found the bar staff welcoming and efficient. The atmosphere is fine, not too loud or raucous. Never tried the food so can't speak for that.

This is another Greene King pub that looks to have been recently refurbished. It's done to a good standard and unlike others retains some individuality. Has on site parking that requires a login on an iPad to avoid a fine. Didn't use the front seating as the weather was appalling but it would be a lovely place to sit if not for the main road and buses constantly going by. Inside the bar was mercifully not affected by the sound of the traffic rumbling past. This is a very friendly pub, with attentive staff and friendly locals too. A good amount of seating to choose from, with a cosy feel despite the size. Great selection of drinks and knowledgeable staff to tell you what's what. There is the usual Greene King menu for food, I didn't order anything but saw many plates leave the kitchen so it's obviously popular After my experience in another local pub it was refreshing to see that was a one off. Maybe this team could be dispatched to look after that establishment? Didn't see much evidence of events, but this looks like it trades on cosiness and food rather than razzle and dazzle. Would definitely be happy to drink here again.

Ross is a friendly manager that will welcome you to his pub. And it's also dog friendly. With WiFi and a good selection of beers.

The food here is excellent. Nice comfort food that is perfect with a pint. The atmosphere is really lively here on a weekend and really chilled during the week. Staff are fantastic and always have a smile for you. Even when they are really busy, they are happy to help. Might be biased as it's my local but genuinely a really nice pub.

I wasn't very hungry - had the starter, spicy meatballs ... they were good and tasty. Cheetful servers !

Totally unhelpful staff were more interested in each other than customers, had one very quick drink then left. We spent 2 hours travelling got to the Tuns, wouldn't let me use the loo because they didn't open for 15mins meet my daughter the staff then took ages to come to the bar to service just the icing on the cake,

Visited the pub on bank holiday Monday, as we were meeting up with old uni friends. My boyfriend called up and booked in the week, and the manager went out of his way to arrange for the chef to come in and cook especially for us. We really appreciated them going above and beyond to host our party. Food was great, affordable and was a nice atmosphere inside. Felt very welcome and accommodating.

Had a wonderful afternoon/evening at the three tuns celebrating a 50th birthday, food/buffet was amazing and 40 of us had one side of the pub to ourselves, all went without a hitch and would recommend it👍

A great family gathering for a Sunday lunch with super service at a reasonable price. We booked in advance and arranged for the meal to come out at a certain time which worked very well even when a family member was delayed.

OK pub but rip off small portion Lasagne which was recommended tho expensive on menu .beer ok

Greene king pub without the Abbot. Fair choice of pub food but a little pricey. Fairly quiet mid week. Nice open pub with excellent staff.

I was impressed with the customer service at Three Tuns from the moment I made a phone call to make a provisional booking for a team lunch. The person who answered the phone was very friendly but professional, and the fact that we couldn't really confirm the booking until the day before was handled well. This continued with their email communication when sending our pre-order, and on the day when we were greeted by the manager (Ross) who politely showed us to our table and explained that they needed to finish getting drinks for a group who entered just before us. The explanation wasn't required but was appreciated, and Ross stuck to their word which was impressive. We'd asked for our food to be ready for 1PM, and it was brought out just before so the timings were spot on. The food itself was well proportioned for the money, came out piping hot and was clearly fresh. I had the lamb shank and this was literally falling off the bone, I can't really comment for my colleagues but all the plates were pretty much empty when they were cleared away. Desserts were also brought out quickly, and again resulted in empty plates at the end of the meal. I can really recomend the chocolate brownie - especially if you get it with vanilla ice cream - as Ross said "a match made in heaven". I've already recomended the Three Tuns to other colleagues, and I would certainly look to come here again myself.

The service from the bar was excellent. Friendly staff and happy to serve. Had the Sunday roast. The meat was touch, roast potatoes were soft and generally not very good. They swapped it for the fish and chips. The cod was super greasy and the chips were rock hard. Left the food and they still charged me for the food.

Lovely location and great views. Food portions were big and really delicious food. The only reason I didn't give 5* is due to the fact that one of the lads serving us had no clue how to make a mocha - after 2 attempts, one of the girls came to the rescue 😀 If you are visiting in the evening, be careful of the deep steps as it's a little dark as you exit

Had lunch whilst on my lunch break here and it was lovely, yummy chunky chips, a nice refreshing drink and great company!

I visited The Three Tuns while staying in the area. I thought it was a Greene King pub, but was misled by the misleading sign outside saying that it was a Greene King pub. So you can imagine my shock and embarrassment when I tried to get 20% off of my pint of Greene King IPA, using my AA app, and being told that it’s not a Greene King pub. Even though they sold Greene King beers. And the sign said Greene King outside. I was informed that they had not had a chance to take down the sign. So this led to the somewhat confusion on my behalf. I sat outside pondering my predicament, but still returned to the bar for one more pint. Without trying to claim my 20% discount. But all in all, a pleasant pub, despite the confusion induced by trying to use my AA app. For 20% discount.

I had my 40th birthday drinks at the pub last night. Leanna and her team were absolutely amazing and went out of their way to make a memorable occasion fabulous. They helped out in every way possible and I just cannot fault them for anything. Thank you so much for making my special occasion amazing. I have visited this pub a few times and never found fault with it and this just makes me want to come back more!!

Me and my friend came here for a spontaneous late lunch. Tried out the new cocktails that were on the new menu I hadn’t seen before. Had a Cosmo (which was made by Georgia! She did a great job for her first one👏🏼👏🏼) Also service was great and food was nice & will be coming back as usual. Thank u!

We arrived a little late as it was nearly kitchen closing time. À lovely girl working behind the bar advised us of the kitchen timings. I explained I'd order for my daughter who was arriving on 20 Minutes. They kindly provided great and I really mean good food as they arrived. Surroundings excellent. Great place

Missed the lunch hours and had hungry children in tow. Had a drink and looked for another place to eat.

Popped in about 8pm for dinner whilst away on business and we were adequately fed with a couple of steak pies, a lovely burger and a lamb shank. Food was lovely and no complaints from us four. Lovely gravy with the shank and a nice couple of beers each too. Recommended.

Absolutely shocked at the customer service here. When a mistake was made, instead of helping, all that was done was arguing from the staff both in person, via email and on the phone. I was a loyal customer for years before Covid with a big group of us (10+) attending the pub quiz and spending a lot of money every week. We will not be returning to this pub again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Not only are the staff very friendly and the atmosphere very conducive but to top it all they maintain a good range of bitter which are kept really well. Two excellent pints consumed - reluctantly had to leave but wanted more. We'll be back again soon.

Nice pub, good atmosphere- food nice but I wouldn't recommend Eton mess - think there was a total of one strawberry in it! Apart from this had lovely evening.

£4.80 for a pint of cask beer, seriously? This is East Reading, not central London! I know pubs have had it hard over the last 18 months, however so have many other individuals and businesses.

Very good service and very friendly

The steak wasn't great, it was very dry and they didn't add any basic sauce or gravy. When we had asked for garlic butter a few minutes later, it was solid garlic butter...

Arrived on site at this place and i couldn't have asked for an amazing greeting from the owners dogs, they were extremely friendly, and Leanna who runs the pub is an absolute Star, she invited us inside and let me do what i had to do in the gents washroom facilities, she's a credit to the pub, Extremely Professional and polite and very patient with us, she's always happy, and friendly to the public and staff on site, I always feel like im a nuisance while on site but she always puts us at ease.. 👍.. A decent drinking pub but the new (ish) land lady cannot deal with issues in a sensible manner, I've witnessed this twice now showing poor customer service and no empathy.

Fantastic local pub with friendly staff and a a decent offering of drinks and food. Always well presented and spotlessly clean. Dog friendly too, which is a definite positive.
