Very nice pub, very nice staff, and very nice drinks, not too expensive either and it was a very nice sunny day as well which added to it

De los pasteles a los batidos, quedé impresionado. No es muy caro y sigue siendo un buen lugar para disfrutar de algunas delicias veganas.

What can I say, great pub, pool tables, juke box, everyone sooo friendly. Staff are amazing. Just tried a takeaway, best curry in Caversham.

This review is for Pierre's at the Harris Arcade in Station Rd, Reading RG1 1DN. This review is for Pierre's at the Harris Arcade in Station Rd, Reading RG1 1DN. We were staying in Reading for a few days and when we spotted this small establishment it looked an ideal place to stop for a light lunch. We noted that there was no Food Standards Agency hygiene scorecard displayed on the door. However, when we checked online, we saw that it had been given a score of 3 which equates to “generally satisfactory”. I assume that much of their trade is takeaway, but there are two tables for those who wish to eat in. There was quite a wide choice available, and I chose to have a jacket potato with baked beans and cheese. The member of staff who served me was polite and friendly and enquired whether I wanted salad. I said yes to salad and as the food arrived in front of me, I thought that it looked very nice and that I should surely enjoy it. It was served in a fairly large bowl and looked a generous portion. Unfortunately, as began to eat the food I realised that it was barely warm and certainly not hot. Of course, I didn’t want the salad to be hot, but I did want both the jacket potato and the baked beans to be quite hot. I immediately took my food over to the counter and very politely asked the young assistant to put it in the microwave to hot it up. She apologised and disappeared into the back part of the shop with my food. A short time later she reappeared with my food and another apology. Unfortunately, the potato and the beans were not the slightest bit hotter than they had been the first time around. I was sorely tempted to make another request to have it heated up in the microwave but thought better of it. I proceeded to eat the food but didn’t enjoy it at all. It was so disappointing. When we saw this little café that didn’t seem too busy, it seemed the ideal place to stop for a light lunch. If only they had been able to get the temperature of the food right, it would have been near-perfect.

I was so pleased to find a typical British / English café. Thee was so much from which to choose. The menu showed set breakfasts (eg full English or sausage, egg and bacon or wo eggs sausage and tomato). One could also pick various bits of English breakfast and ask for one's own plateful of options. I love friend bread so chose two fried breads, an egg and two fried fresh tomatoes (I could have chosen tinned tomatoes). My friend has the full English. We didn't need anything to eat for the rest of the day. There was also the choice of cup for tea - tea cup, breakfast cup or a larger one. The prices were so reasonable and the staff sociable without being intrusive. Please look at the cafés website and see the menu there. We'll certainly return.

I got a box of yesterdays cookies that was meant to be a general mix and it contains all the worst flavours. I was told there were boxes of general mix, then boxes of white chocolate, rose and cranberry and then vegan boxes. My mixed box was only rose and coconut and one cranberry. I had hoped of the six cookies in a box, there'd be one or two decent flavours but was sadly disappointed. I know they're reduced and you can't pick the flavours. But if they say it's a mixed box, and other boxes have specific flavours, I'd expect a mixed box .
