The Crown on the Bridge in Reading

This is a great place to come with friends for a couple drinks and some tasty food! Great service and good prices too. Can’t wait to come again soon, Thank you guys!

Great pub, great food. Especially the wing Wednesday! It had become my regular lunch spot! Couldn’t recommend this place enough, the staff are always helpful and friendly.

This is an odd pub, the staff are surly and bordering on unhelpful, there is little joy engaging with them, it is almost like they would rather be elsewhere. The team is belligerent, it feels like there is a case of 'Computer says No' The Website is inaccurate and the team don't seem to care, it states that food is available 12-9pm - this isn't the case, I tried to order at 8.34pm to to be told that the kitchen closed at 8.30pm I queried that the website said 12-9pm - I was told by the staff that they weren't responsible for what it says on their website (who is then?) I asked to speak to the manager to be told, he couldn't speak to me as he was cooking in the kitchen, I asked if he could squeeze one more order in, I was told categorically 'NO'. I went back to the pub later in the evening to see friends of the bar team eating burgers at approx 11pm at night. I am stunned at the poor customer service and abject disregard for customers, one of my party said they had had the same experience on at least two occasions around food at this pub. A really poor interaction.

Went for Wings Wednesday. Drove an hour to get there with my son for a treat, arrived at 12:45. All excited as they are great wings, 40,wings please, hang on will just speak to chef, sorry kitchen not open for another couple of hours. What a shambles.

Popped in to watch some footy! Spoilt for choice with 3 screens all showing different games. Great selection of draught to choose from and the guys behind the bar were very friendly and efficient. Many thanks Hannah and Rish.

Nice quirky pub with friendly staff and clean and tidy inside. Tables cleared quickly and service is fast too. Let’s itself down by allowing people to openly vape indoors.

A few friends and I went to The Crown 'just' for a few drinks but ended up having food as well. The atmosphere was perfect and it was a great place to be, nothing was too much for them and the hospitality provided by the team was second to none. There are stunning views of the Thames as well. I would like to say a BIG thank Ethan and the team for making us feel very welcome and we shall visit again in the near future.

Came here for karaoke few weeks back, great atmosphere, fantastic cocktails and food was excellent, we both have a great time and will be back again very soon.

Really good venue for a nice drink. Came here with a friend and was amazed by the managers service and knowledge. Ethan went above and beyond for us to enjoy our time. Playing pool he offered table service. I would highly recommend the crown to anyone in the Reading or caversham area. It’s a great little pub to stop by and have a drink and watch the sports!

Just visited this pub. The prices were reasonable, staff friendly and welcoming, there is a pool table and great outside space. the decor was is modern abd comfortable. I had a great evening and highly recommend this place.

Came in for food after hearing rave reviews about the sosig menu. I was not disappointed, I had the ‘bulldog’ and it had perfect sosig to bun ratio. Amstel also tasted great I would recommend this place to everyone.
