Parkside is very popular, it is based inside the Parkside YMCA . Beware that it is very popular with young families, so a quiet cup of coffee or tea may not be possible. Coffee groups, singing groups and others use the facilities. It is a shame that it is no longer open on Saturday mornings. Breakfast are reasonably priced with a full English at 5.95 . The service is friendly and good, the chef is kept quite busy. Specials today are Halloumi Fries at 3.00, Chicken steak in a bun at 2.00 and Toasted Teacake at 1.15. It gets busier from 10am, there met yet be a lunch rush hour.

Soft play area is definitely a plus in this cafe! Good range of drinks and snacks. Great to see a mix of generations in the cafe but we tend to visit early or late as late morning and over lunch it gets really busy. Just too popular!

Can't agree more with other comments, a great place to go with young children. There's plenty food options, great value for money, every one is very friendly including customers and the soft play area is much cleaner than other places.

As a mum to a toddler and baby I visit here at least once a week. A great place to get a good coffee and great value food while the kids are entertained by the soft play. A great community café where everyone is welcome.

Visited here for the first time. Plenty of seating, soft play area for under 5's only. Great prices and friendly staff. Clean and modern decor. Popular with parents with children, and great place to meet with friends.

My friends and I often come here with our bunch of noisy 2 year olds. The play area is just big enough for them to keep them entertained for an hour or so and we can see them clearly whist enjoying a coffee and a chat. The food is so reasonably priced, I was shocked when they told me kids beans on toast was only £1! They're very friendly too!

Great atmosphere, seating inside and out. Lovely play area for little ones and plenty of high chairs. The menu was an assortment of sandwiches, pastries, jacket potatoes etc. The children's and babies lunch boxes were excellent with a good choice. The food was served promptly and the sandwiches were freshly made and delicious. The staff were so helpful!

Busy and with the volunteer staff being inexperienced there were errors made but when paying only £1.50 for a ham salad sandwich and £0.30 for a packet of crisps, how can anyone complain?

Went here for a birthday party one weekend for adults and young children. Excellent space for a party like this with an area of soft ply suitable for children up to about 4 years old. The venue was nice and had a lot of natural light so I imagine would be nice for a coffee visit

This Cafe is part of Reading YMCA. Always very busy which says a lot for the welcome and friendliness. Mothers use this facility a lot with part of the cafe being a soft play area. Food and menu simple but well cooked and tasty. Easy parking also means ideal meet up for friends or business colleagues. I use quite often.
