We were staying in Reading for a few days and when we spotted this small establishment it looked an ideal place to stop for a light lunch. We noted that there was no Food Standards Agency hygiene scorecard displayed on the door. However, when we checked online, we saw that it had been given a score of 3 which equates to “generally satisfactory”. I assume that much of their trade is takeaway, but there are two tables for those who wish to eat in. There was quite a wide choice available, and I chose to have a jacket potato with baked beans and cheese. The member of staff who served me was polite and friendly and enquired whether I wanted salad. I said yes to salad and as the food arrived in front of me, I thought that it looked very nice and that I should surely enjoy it. It was served in a fairly large bowl and looked a generous portion. Unfortunately, as began to eat the food I realised that it was barely warm and certainly not hot. Of course, I didn’t want the salad to be hot, but I did want both the jacket potato and the baked beans to be quite hot. I immediately took my food over to the counter and very politely asked the young assistant to put it in the microwave to hot it up. She apologised and disappeared into the back part of the shop with my food. A short time later she reappeared with my food and another apology. Unfortunately, the potato and the beans were not the slightest bit hotter than they had been the first time around. I was sorely tempted to make another request to have it heated up in the microwave but thought better of it. I proceeded to eat the food but didn’t enjoy it at all. It was so disappointing. When we saw this little café that didn’t seem too busy, it seemed the ideal place to stop for a light lunch. If only they had been able to get the temperature of the food right, it would have been near-perfect.

Always a great lunch and service at Pierre's. I've started getting their salads recently, massive, fresh, low cost. What more could you want?

This is the third time ordering a baguette from here and I have given feedback each time about their baguette filling completely falling out. Their baguettes are far too thin/cheap to fit any amount of filling inside and they carelessly try to shove filling inside and it all spills out making it impossible to eat properly. I suggest for the third time, spend more money and make your baguettes bigger so they can actually be edible! My fave is smoked salmon and onion, which I used toconsume in the Allied Arms next door with a few real ales. Pierre’s is a great establishment. I had a few baguettes delivered today as I am badly disabled. The owner has been a great help for 10 years plus.

Very friendly staff with genuine smiles, very welcoming. I had a hot bacon brie and cranberry baguette with a cappuccino. I was pleasantly surprised at how generous the fillings were. The cappuccino tasted rally nice full of flavour, not like a generic brand one. Seating is available inside and outside. Situated just up the road from the railway station. The two members of staff clearly have a great rapport with their regulars. I would genuinely recommend this eatery.

Ordered me and my family baguettes from here today off Deliveroo. They were so fresh and delicious, I had coronation chicken with salad yoghurt and mint dressing. Honestly well done for the yummy food . My only one thing I would ask is can you put Hawaiian mix on Deliveroo please please

Have visited a few times but not done a review on them before but I feel compelled to. The baguettes are amazing and plenty of choice prepared freshly in front of you. Friendly staff.

Friendly staff and great fresh food. There were clear signs for social distancing and screens and hand sanitizer. Good choice of food and hot and cold drinks. Lots of places nearby outside to sit.

For lunch on the go, we like Pierre's. We have been buying baguettes from them for years and they have never failed to provide good food at a great price, cakes are good too. A plus is that the staff are friendly.

Everyone gets a second chance and this was Pierre's'. After an appalling level of service last time I genuinely thought it couldn't get any worse but after letting someone jump the queue and be served before us my suspicions that the 3 chaps behind the desk didn't care at all about what they were churning out was acutely realised. The "summer job" kid served us, and cut the baguettes diagonally giving me a baguette about 4 inches shorter than everyone else, other than presumably the person behind me who got a baguette the size of a cricket bat. The filling is processed meat in cubes / slices and a bit of mayo / coronation sauce and they aren't generous, for the money you pay you'd expect at least filling to the edge, however mine was so wonkily cut that he could only fill a portion of it, leaving me with a 3 inch angle of empty bread to take back to my desk. as per usual the only thing of any substance were the crisps / drink. Sort yourselves out this is embarrassing, not everyone can afford to pay high street prices for backstreet service,

Wonderful range of freshly made while you wait baguettes, the queues speak for themselves at lunch time.

Fantastic selection of made to order sandwiches and baguettes. All ingredients look delicious and choosing what to have is a struggle every time. Simple answer ...... try something new every day !!

I was in Wokingham and gambled on finding a good cheap place for breakfast in Reading where I was catching a connecting train. The gamble paid off. With five minutes walk of the station Pierre's gave me proper doorstep bacon and sausage sandwich and a pot of tea for less than £6. As a bonus the pot of tea, not the large one just the regular, easily filled the cup twice. Not only would I recommend this I will happily be doing so to friends and colleagues who pass through Reading.

Walked around Reading on Saturday to find a non-chain cafe. Not easy. Found Pierre's and was delighted. The baguette was tasty and could not have been more stuffed, and the tea was good and strong. All for a fiver. We need more independents like this on the night street.

Good lunch staple and lots of fillings to choose from at a good price! Both shops have quick and friendly staff so really good to pop in on a lunch break at work

Very large selection of freshly made as you wait baguettes on a range of breads. Fillings change on a daily basis and Christmas brings out a limited edition range of filings.

We had such a tasty lunch on the go from this establishment. The selection was great and the ingredients fresh. The prawn mayonnaise with avocado was delish as was the Southern fried chicken with BBQ sauce and coleslaw which my partner enjoyed. We shared a dessert bar which was to die for. The staff was very friendly. We would return.

great baguettes at a decent price. be prepared for a queue though. although that just shows how good the place is.

Ordered a pate salad baguette, noticed the pate came out of a Sainsbury's £1.40 packet after I paid for it, you can hardly see any pate, just salad. Feeling ripped off. DON'T ORDER PATE

The best place in reading to get a baguette. Lovely friendly staff always make me feel welcome. Great price and you won't leave hungry. I recommended it to my work colleagues and they now all go there on there lunch brake and love it.

I go to Pierre's at least twice a week for my lunch and speak highly of it, it's usually quite a busy time when I get there around 12.30pm but they move through the queue very quickly so do not let the queue put you off!As it's December they have brought their menu game way above the bar including all your classic Christmas with their own twists. You can get anything from freshly baked baguettes, baked potatoes and salad bowls and all the usual wraps etc. Everything you will see on their wide deli spread is fresh and does not disappoint your taste buds, with set menus or you can create your own. It even has a wide rang of drinks despite the small size, from fizzy pops, juices etc along with a crisp range, perfect for teaming up a baguette with!V.Reasonable prices

This is a great lunch place! The sandwiches are fresh and the range hey have is very good. My favourite is the Tuna Mayo Jacket, you get big Jacket Potatoes with ample fillings, the baguettes and wraps are delicious too.

Great baguettes and fillings at a decent price. There's a reason why it gets busy at lunchtime- because it's the best place to get a baguette in the area.

This place gets rammed at lunchtime as its great to get what yiu want and I mean virtually any baguette filling. Fresh made in front of you and very tasty.

The only place in town for a deli style lunch. Such a massive selection its difficult to decide on which fillings to get. They also have HUGE delicious homemade cake bars.

Not as good as Elle's baguettes on Oxford rd. lots of variety but my wife had blt. Bacon was not nice, cold horrible looking. We both had much better baguettes even tho a little cheaper here. Staff polite but just not brilliant here. It's very convenient tho being centre of town.

Best place for baguettes in Reading. Been coming here for lunch no and off for about 6 years now. Nothing special but always good. It's also not too expensive either.

I have only ordered 1 baguette since I first have had pierres but have always really enjoyed it. It seems fresh and is made well so great to stop here for lunch if you want a nice baguette. I would recommend.

I go to one of the two Pierre's Baguettes in Reading about once a week and have always found the service and quality of baguettes to be excellent.The quality and quantity of the fillings is also very good and never scrimped on. I think my personal favourite is smoked salmon with cream cheese and avocado and fresh onion. They are one of the best sandwich bars in Reading and always worth a visit.

Здешние багеты были больше похожи на обычный белый хлеб, с кисловатым привкусом. В них по желанию можно выбрать любую начинку, примерно как в сабвее. Начинки не пробовала, приходила за багетом)

What can I say about Pierre's.Baguettes at their best with a huge selection of fillings. ""Have It Your Way"" should be their Moto. I do have a strange selection of fillings and they never bat an eye lid. Long May You Reign "Pierre's" 10/10.

Absolutely the best baguettes in reading, however there is an incredibly rude man that works there who refuses to smile and is actually very rude to customers. He ought to take a customer service course as he must put people off going there, which is a shame as everyone else there so nice

I am a very keen customer at Pierre's baguettes, i always pop in for a nice baguette whenever I'm in Reading for lunch, the baguettes are fresh and tasty. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, Last time i went, i was hoping to try a BBQ chicken baguette, the BBQ chicken had peppers and stuff mixed in, which personally i didnt like, i mumbled to a friend "oh actually i wont have a BBQ one, it has peppers" to which a member of staff offered to make me a plain chicken bagguete and then put BBQ sauce in the bagguete for me. Lovely atmosphere, lovely food! Very good value for money!

Having missed breakfast and feeling peckish I grabbed a bacon baguette from the Harris Arcade Pierre's in Reading and have to say it is one of the best bacon baguette I have had. Yes I know it was only a bacon baguette but what made it great was the amount of bacon in it. It was a generous portion of bacon compared to the other sandwich/baguettes places and it tasted lovely. Definitely value for money @ £3 for just a bacon baguette. This was my first visit to this place and next time I will have try the big breakfast baguette.

If you are a baguette lover then this is the place for you and value for money too. You get a choice of a white or brown fresh baguette and a filling of your choice prepared right in front of you. My husband uses it all the time when he is going to work and stops by to pick up his favourite snack. Do try it as you wont be disappointed and you will find yourself very full afterwards. Also do cakes and drinks too.

My husband and I love getting our lunch from Pierres when out and about. The baguettes are filling and the choice of fillings extensive. They are great value for money and you get ample of your favourite filling. You won't be disappointed.

It always has fresh bread and fresh produce. It always tastes good but they don't do gluten free which is it's only let down!

Pepper Lemon mayo, salmon and avocado is a must. Or coronation chicken with mango... A big range of different baguettes. They are the best in town.
