Had a really lovely lunch at Wetherspoon in Guildford with my family. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with plenty of space and a nice buzz without being too loud. The food came out quickly and was spot on—generous portions, tasty, and great value for money. Everyone found something they liked on the menu, from classic pub favourites to lighter options. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Perfect spot for a casual, stress-free family meal. Would definitely come back!

My wife has a serious allergy to Garlic and she was worried that she would be dismissed as a nuisance, which is often the reaction she gets from other restaurant's staff. Fortunately at the Terrace they were so friendly and accommodating that they separately cooked a chicken breast with new potatoes, selection of vegetables and it was delicious and so very tasty. She loved it. She had a beautifully presented Tiramisu as a dessert, which again was delicious. My wife cannot thank the staff enough for their superb customer service.

Sports Bar with a great atmosphere and remarkably good pizza. At first look, it's not obvious that it offers food and, whilst it's not a large menu, the quality of the food is excellent. We had a great Friday night - thank you to the team!

Travelling by train from my sleepy home village of Emsworth to the cosmopolitan city of Oxford on a very hot Saturday in April 2025 I decided to break my journey at each of the railway stations which had a J. D. Wetherspoon chain pub within easy walking distance, and call in to enjoy a bottle of cold Aspall's cider, which happens to be one of my favourite brands. The Rodboro Buildings is a large Wetherspoon pub, spread over three floors of a historic former motor car factory, on Bridge Street, between five and ten minutes on foot from Guildford railway station. For a Saturday lunchtime the establishment was surprisingly quiet, with a mainly middle-aged or elderly clientele and University students notable only by their absence. My 500 ml bottle of Aspall's Cider set me back a very reasonable GBP 3:84. There were plenty of 240 Volt, 3-Pin and 5 Volt USB electric power sockets dotted around the bar from which to recharge the battery of my laptop computer, although the ones downstairs near the former dance floor were switched off and the staff on duty didn't know how to turn them on. The men's toilets were clean and well maintained. Service was prompt, polite and efficient. The tables were cleaned regularly and the soles of my boxfresh Reebok training shoes did not adhere to the bespoke carpet when I walked across it. I never got round to trying the coffee or the tea!

Food and drink horrendously overpriced, over £15 for one coffee and three juice cartons….outrageous! The new glasshouse restaurant is again very overpriced and very poor quality. I know they’ve suffered losses because of the M25/A3 closures, but is it really a good idea to overcharge customers it’s just massive profiteering. Come on RHS, buck up, because at the moment, I will not be spending my money at any of your food and drink outlets, I’ll bring my own!

I read the review of the golf course below from 2017 but nonetheless looked forward to my visit. I have too say that whoever designed the golf course did a great job and the layout is impressive. There were also a few greenkeepers out on the course keeping the bunkers raked etc. Overall though the condition of the course was disappointing with a capital D. The tees and fairways were scruffy and the first cut of rough poorly kept. The greens however were decent with few pitch marks thereon. The trouble with Merrist Wood is that it lies in the heart of rich golf territory but has clearly made a conscious effort not to compete with the better courses nearby and alas it shows. In the clubhouse the lights didn't work in the toilets and still didn't work four and a half hours later with calls into question the quality of the facilities management. Food and drink was competitively priced and of acceptable quality. Having played over 300 courses in the UK the big question is would I return? Despite the great layout the answer is very unlikely. Very nearly rated poor.

This is anything but relaxing. Filthy trays and unwiped tables abound. Having to poke in between a line of customers for necessity items is annoying to both parties. Jiggling teabags in paper cups is an utter pain. All necessary things for a simple snack are spread about. The staff are miserable and unhelpful and the stock is sold out. This RHS garden is coining in millions to the point you can't get parked. Yet this cafe is an utter disgrace. As an RHS member it's very unimpressive.
