The Rodboro Buildings in Guildford

Large pub which is very popular with students from Surrey University. Busy, even though visited after lunchtime rush. Opted for service via the Wetherspoons app and food and drink arrived quickly and efficiently.

A bartender named Stella was the light of my night, apart from accidentally spraying disinfectant in my drink she showed the best quick and friendly service.

A good meeting place, not far from the station and the drinks are very reasonable. Didn't try the food this time, but it's usually good.

Jammed packed spoons!! ,but brilliant looking building, usual great food and service

I waited over 30 minutes for my large breakfast. When it arrived it was cold and the fried eggs were missing. When I complained, I was then told they had run out of eggs. No compensation offered. Funny thing, when you have a poor meal in Wetherspoons, no member of staff come round and ask how your meal was.

Excellent service from Georgia behind the bar upstairs, wiping our table and checking in on us. A great boozer!!!

Please do NOT clear half a pint of beer away when someone goes to the toilet for 1 minute! It takes longer to get served at the bar than to have your drink removed…

Can get quite busy as it's in town centre. But the overall vibe is good.

Have been coming here for years. Brought my employees here after a strategy day in Guildford. After 15 minutes there I was suddenly asked to leave without any explanation at all. It wouldn’t have been a problem except that all my team had already ordered food, so I had to leave on my own and leave my team there. My team got quite upset about it. I won’t be coming back.

Nice place for a full English breakfast and a pint. Very low prices for beers and ciders.

Good food and drinks. Prices are good. Can get crowded, but understandable. Food does take a bit to come out.

Foods alright but the size of the chip portion is poor same in all wetherspoons

Close to train station, roughly a 5 minute walk, right next to the shops. Nice big wetherspoons loads and loads of seating. The food was quick and lovely. the only problem was they had no eggs, but you got an extra hash brown. Would definitely visit again.

Easy to get to about 7 minutes from the train station, only downfalls was run out of freid eggs breakfast

Couple of pints prior to viewing ‘Anora’ at the local Odeon. Extremely busy for a Wednesday - many well-mannered Students enjoying themselves. Staff were working their ‘posteriors off’, unquestionably, but seemed extremely serious indeed. Pub is generally well-maintained, but the seating area to the RHS of the main front doors (opposite the Tesco express) were really quite tatty and dirty - since I last came here. Ripped cushions and mud on quite a few of them. Drinks, as always, well priced.

Everyone knows what they’re getting from a Wetherspoons so I don’t think people should be giving low ratings for average food; it’s Wetherspoons, not Gordon Ramsey’s. That said, this Wetherspoons is one of the nicer ones, it’s spacious, well decorated, has a nice mezzanine floor, doesn’t seem to get too busy or noisy, and has plenty of windows so it’s light and pleasant. When I visited on a Sunday there was a good split between families, people popping in for a coffee, and the people here for the cheap beer.

I’m actually quite shocked at how downhill the food has gone here. The staff dont feel like they’ve been trained on the menu. The food was poor quality and small portions. Will I visit again? Yes. Would I eat there again? Not until I see an improvement….

This can be good and bad for many people and it’s all how you see it . The food is cheap in price but they do have lots of variety and their chicken wings is a banger if u have just 10 pounds you can treat yourself with bunch of drinks and food u always enjoy coming here. Be mind Fuk this place will be crawling with all sorts of people from different class of life l. They also provide cheapest breakfast and unlimited tea and coffee for fixed price

The place is very large and spacious, great first impression upon entering. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I went there last weekend with a friend and to say we both were disappointed would be a huge understatement. The tap beer was flat and tasted like beer flavored water. The burger was tiny and cold. The chips cold, undercooked and soggy. We ordered 10 chicken strips with that, somehow we only received 5. The waiter seemed completely out of it. He brought us drinks meant for another table. Then, when we told him we paid for 10 chicken strips and only got 5, he replied with a question "oh, you ordered 10?", stood there for a minute, and clearly unable to come up with a solution he walked away and we haven't seen him again. We ended up spending around £50 there and not only didn't get some of the things that we paid for, but also ended up returning half of our food and the beer flavored water that was just impossible to drink. Not once were we given an apology, suggested compensation, or even managed to get the remaining 5 chicken strips. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Worst Spoons experience either of us ever had. We left cold, hungry and frustrated and then spent most of the evening with stomachache from cold undercooked food.

Been to the one in Woking and Godalming, noticed the prices are different for different areas , love the second floor with the windows over looks the traffic light over to the friary , great atmosphere up here compared to downstairs. Loved the beef curries full of flavour compared to other weatherspoon .

It's cheap, but not much more than that.

If you want good pub grub at an affordable price then Wetherspoons is the place to go. Service is always quick if you only have a short time available and the menu is extensive. Most meals come with a drink of your choice included so don't buy a drink first before ordering your food.

Love the building. Food is pretty average. Beer and food Price are cheaper than other restaurants. I generally go here if i just wanna talk with my friends and get some cheap beer and don't want anything fancy. The app is really useful too. However, There aren't enough waiters so the tables don't get cleaned for some time. A lot of spoons are not clean at coffee machine. A Sometimes the food can be cooked really badly. One time I had fries that i couldn't finish because it tasted like burnt oil.

Well worth the money. Nice staff, quick service, cheap but tasty food, great atmosphere and super location.

Nice chain pub/ restaurant for an affordable meal deal. Huge selection of local craft beers to explore. We had the American cheeseburgers...which tasted exactly like a big fastfood chains' American cheeseburgers, it was almost uncanny! Fast efficient service. On a seperate occassion tried their afternoon meals deals which is well worth the money.

Popped in here for breakfast on our way to Portsmouth for the isle of wight ferry. This is my 140th wetherspoons and definitely one of the nicer ones so far.

As pubs go, we look for different things in each. JD, part of a familiar brand, made their niche with cheaper drinks and food. Hence it's popularity with people of a particular age and financial means. It was busy as usual and with every one trying to be louder than the other, adds to the atmosphere, if you like lively, then the place is for you. Disfruta.

Quick late afternoon drink with a work colleague in this venue - venue is very modern and smart, and set over several different floors. Service was decent with a nice atmosphere inside, around 4 pm.

We had a few difficulties maneuvering my mother in her wheelchair but we found a section of this large place which we could access comfortably. Having settled in, I tried to use the Wetherspoons App to order our food and drinks. However, each person wanted something special so, in the end I gave up and went to the bar. There, a helpful "no worries" guy helped to key everything into the computer behind the bar. I went for a local pint of bitter (Firebird Heritage) and the vindaloo meal which was reasonably spicy. Everybody else enjoyed their meals which were served directly to our table. The toilets were located further and deeper into this establishment. They were acceptably clean and fully functional. All good.

The app worked well, food & drink arrived promptly. Mixed grill was good, but slightly overcooked.

Excellent value for money and speedy service of both food and drink. Can’t fault this spoons. Well done all.

Lovely building warm cosey and comfortable kind servers what I love about weatherspoons the most is they provide a warm safe place for people to go to it's comfortable safe and keeps you out of the cold The food is very good in this weatherspoons as well and I feel that it runs everything well shout-out goes to the servers who are very kind and welcome you to the restaurant all in all great place

One of the better Weatherspoons in the UK.

We were visiting Guildford, as you do. Outside, it was a rainstorm of biblical proportions. The rain was attacking us from all angles, vertical, horizontal, it had no preferences. The wind was howling, joining the rain in it's downward dance of watery doom. Meanwhile, we were wandering the streets, like two awkward ducklings, soaked through to the skin. Our showerproof coats were absolutely no match for the monsoon that struck that day. Water ran down our faces, filled our shoes and drenched our underwear. We were a tad moist. The Rodboro Building was to be our oasis. Hot coffee, our salvation. It was no coincidence that the pub was rammed to the rafters, the rats had climbed aboard the ship, but was it a sinking vessel? We would soon find out... Tables and chairs were in short supply that Sunday afternoon, but we did ultimately find two backside perches, almost next to the toilets. The steady stream of soaking wet punters heading to the bogs to dry off was out entertainment while, the hot-ish coffee warmed our wet spirits. It was grim day, it was an average pub. The Rodboro is a Wetherspoons pub and everything exactly where we expected to be. Dreadful carpet, as much coffee as we could drink, staff trying their best, some smiley, some solemn and the normal raucous hustle and bustle of a 'Spoons pub catering for the masses on a budget. We left, warmed up and ready for the rest of the day. It was still tipping down, obviously.

I went here with my girlfriend last night. The inside of the shop is beautifully decorated and the counter bar is very large and spectacular. Drinks are available in many flavors to choose from. Reasonable price, arranged at a very cheap price. The atmosphere inside the store is not crowded. The design of the place looks truly tasteful.

A very large spoons, modern in design, large selection of drinks, there are 2 bars in this spoons, 1 upstairs and 1 down, food was good and came to the table quickly

The atmosphere was good compared to the Wetherspoon's I went to on Mars!

Some rude member of staff told me off for clapping, which other people were doing. Unnecessary.

Horrendous attitude from staff. I had to correct my order as it was not entered on the till correctly. Argued with me about what was said instead of simply correcting the mistake. Will not return.

Poor pint , badly poured, a non experienced bar tender or not interested or maybe both.

It is a nice place with good food but not somewhere to go if you want quietness.

Alice served us the entire night while all over bar staff ignored us she was absolutely amazing and honestly the way we got along she is now one of my considered friends and favourite bar staff here ever! She made us feel so welcomed and comfortable while the rest made us feel invisible and forgotten! Shes just overall born for the role! And joey has made us feel the exact same on previous nights she’s such an amazing bar worker ! Joey has always answered my questions when I’ve been curious about prices and the menu as I suffer with anxiety a lot and she has always always been the only staff member to put me at ease.

Excellent pub in the centre of Town. Formerly one of the first car factorys in the world . Good food.. Good beer/ drinks. Only losing a star because of slightly slow service..

Fantastic atmosphere. Various of draft beers for decent prices. Stuff is lovely. Loved everything about this place. Wont choose somewhere else now!!

We visited today about 3.30/4pm it was really quiet which was nice. The seat on the sofa kept sliding and my 6 year old ended up in tears because the seat had come away from the base of the chair and pinched her finger as she tucked her chair in. The service was ok, staff were friendly enough when you saw them, but didnt see many staff at all 2bh. My Mum and daughter had fish and chips which they both enjoyed. My youngest daughter had a childs pizza which she left most of cause it was near enough raw. I had the halloumi wrap which tasted ok but I was really unwell about half hour after eating it. Not nice when you are out shopping and have to leave your basket of stuff to find the nearest toilet. We have visited here loads of times and have always enjoyed our time here. However we were extremely disappointed today which is such a shame.

Price's are great but after visiting the pub for the first time yesterday I wasn't impressed with the staff. There was a female behind the bar that didn't make us feel very welcome and I witnessed her being quite rude to an old couple. The old man had ordered the wrong drink for his wife and when his wife explained this to her she was very blunt and said it wasn't her problem he had ordered the wrong drink and she would need to purchase another. Friendly bar staff should be a must surely. I won't be returning, I doubt the old couple will too.

Cheap grub but quality. The place is well decorated and the atmosphere is splendid. It is a family restaurant and the food selection is great and like all Wetherspoons they have a hot drink free refill. The toilets are fairly clean and the place is huge. The staff are friendly and what else can I say but nothing.

Went to watch the Euro final, which was very crowded. Due to the crowd, the quality of service was not as good as usual, which can be overlooked. However, the quality of food and drinks was excellent as always, and I experienced a great atmosphere and excitement, even though England finally lost the game 😢

Nice spoons to go to for a drink, great building.

Met here with a couple of old friends and after we had 3 pints and a meal each the upstairs manager came over and said he wouldn't serve us any more because one of us had apparently fallen asleep at the urinal in the toilet. Absolutely bizarre and ridiculous, never go there again, revolting staff and he wasn't the only one.

It's a weatherspoons, it is what it is. Ok, for a few drinks but atmosphere and service is a little lacking.

Great place as it used to be a car factory and they've kept some of it so it looks amazing inside.

Horrible customer service by some of the female staff and the manager was supportive of that behaviour as well. Truly disappointed at the service and the attitude towards customers.

Wetherspoons basically, staff were quick to take empties from our table, didn't eat at this one, the Englabd friendly against Iceland was on, the atmosphere was alright.

Really nice place, very big and it's got a nice atmosphere. We went on a Saturday night, so it was really busy, but we still managed to find a table. Service was pretty quick given that it was Saturday. The food was good too, and arrived very quickly. The atmosphere was nice, if very loud, but that's to be expected when people are pre-drinking for the clubs nearby. Prices are very reasonable because it's Wetherspoons. Would've been nice if I could have found a ketchup bottle that wasn't empty, but again, Saturday night so they were all gone and the staff probably didn't have time to refill them.

Visually a very nice building, and you can't beat wetherspoon prices and the speed of service! Will definitely be back as the building is so nice, lots of history, tastefully designed.

Beautiful period building. Order over at the bar or through the app. Good value food, quality of food in line with the price. Portion sizes have not shrunk too much over the years but prices, like everywhere else, has gone up quite a bit.

As Wetherspoons go it's not too shabby. Well presented in a fabulous historical building.

Just ordered a medium rare gourmet steak. Very last time. I also stained my pants with chewing gum glued to the bottom of the table. Had a great time, thank you.

the absolute WORST Wetherspoons I’ve ever been too!! We were having a laugh and a joke at our table as it was a friends birthday, the manager came over and said “keep it down” I replied with no, we’re not even being noisy or loud? Then she marched back to our table and DEMANDED to know what I said. Very rude and shouldn’t be in management at all! 0/10 needs a new manager.

The food was unfortunately quite average. The service was OK (one waitress was handy in helping sort a parking issue out) but we were never asked how our food was or if we needed anything else. We had to go outside due to a live music event on (this I expected as I was forewarned, and it was heated and under cover which was nice, however, people were smoking cigarettes which, because it was under cover, meant the place smelled quite badly of cigarette smoke which I find very unpleasant.

I've started the Wetherspoons tour, travelling to all different venues. Since I started 2 months ago I think this place is my favourite. Located in an old Motor Factory this place is full of character and history. I got a nice pint of Mad Squirrel Trident for £2.80. Can't go wrong. I give this places a 10/10 compared to others I've been to.

If you are young and in guildford... not a bad place to get a drink on a friday nigh

Brilliant place, food and staff

Staff in this Wetherspoons confiscated my 18 year old daughters provisional driving license and refused to return it to her as they thought it was fake. Fortunately she found a police officer who went in and verified her identity and retrieved it on her behalf. She was utterly humiliated and almost left without her driving license 2 days before her driving theory test.

As this chain its a bit better than average. Ramen noodles with 🍝 don't bother
