We went for brunch as a family of 9 (two babies in high chairs) for my husband’s birthday as it suited all the sleep times etc. When I booked we were asked to pre-order which was absolutely fine. The staff were great and bought us everything we needed. Food was good- drinks could have been bigger cups or free refills for the price. Overall a lovely start to the day with our family.

Nice decor and building. I think the Afternoon Tea is of very poor value and quality. Would not recommend to anyone and would not have again. Staff were friendly but we had to try many times to attract attention to order more drinks - felt invisible for most of my sitting which is odd as we were sat in front of the patio doors with an amazing view of the grounds. 🤷

Took my sister to Wisley for the day to celebrate her recent birthday. Booked lunch at the Terrace Restaurant. It is so lovely - friendly and relaxed with efficiency and service in perfect balance. The food was gorgeous and they use seasonal plants grown at the garden in the kitchen. Service was attentive but not pushy - so we had plenty of time to chat and decide on our dishes. Carafes of water were provided without delay and were refilled throughout the meal. We had a magnificent mock tail with mixed berries and alcohol free sparkling white wine. We had starters pumpkin soup, torched mackerel and ham hock croquettes, followed by shepherds pie with veg, Pearl barley risotto with pumpkin and seeds, grilled trout with mixed vegetables. We all enjoyed the food. Unable to resist dessert I had a superb apple and blackberry crumble with a vanilla custard that I must say was so much more tasty than my usual at home made with custard powder. My son had lemongrass crème brûlée and my sister who do not order a dessert as she thought she could not force another morsel down was surprised with a small perfect piece of chocolate mousse cake and pistachio ice cream for her birthday treat. It was so special - the restaurant has clean lines, is very comfortable and a magnificent view out onto the trees of Wisley. We had such a fantastic experience. I advise you all to try it.

Went for the afternoon tea. Welcome and service mediocre at best. No flexibility on sandwich fillings (two of our party can’t eat eggs). No tea (the drink) selection available so only English Breakfast - no Assam, Darjeeling etc Scones stodgy, jam/cream mean and cakes overly sweet plus we had to ask what they were. All served on canteen style thick white crockery. Come on Wisley!! You are the ROYAL Horticultural Society and can do better than this!!! Definitely won’t be back until I know the offer is significantly improved - and no more expensive as it is priced for a superior offer now.

I have visited Wisley garden many times but this was the first time at this restaurant for a midweek lunch. Having read some of the negative reviews the expectations were set low but it was actually a very enjoyable experience. Staff were attentive and service was good. Food was excellent and the environment was enjoyable. The only small negative was the portion sizes were a bit in the small side but that’s always good for calorie control! Will definitely be coming back

We arrived on a warm day and were left to ourselves for 10 minutes until we finally got up to ask for some water and menus. The portions were tiny and mediocre in taste, and we were left with our finished plates with flies circling around us until we got up and asked for the dessert menu. The bill was completely out of proportion to the food and service received. What is this place thinking? Don't go.

We arrived looking casual and feeling exhausted after our four-and-a-half-hour journey. The person who greeted (?) us gave us a menu and asked us to step aside to see if ‘that was the kind of thing we were after’. The message was clear. Is this your restaurant policy? If so, is there another way to segregate the customers you want to welcome from those you don’t?

Suprise Suprise Now i don't want to come across as pretentious or delusional my fellow critics. Given i have been a professional chef for over 20 years working along side some true greats i consider myself competent enough to write a review. Today we decided to chance a sunday lunch at the Terrace Resurant Wisley. Its been 16 months since our last visit to the Terrace which i might add was embarrassing, shambolic, tastless and rubbish . So we went for the the roast beef & vegan meringue . What a pleasant SUPRISE, this was no ordinary run of the mill lunch, this was close to perfection. Believe me this was culinery art at its best, the beef in paticular was sublime, no knife required, heaven on a plate. Seriously its up there with a sunday lunch at The Hand & Flowers (Tom Kerriage) at a fraction of the price. Vegan meringue !! Vegan is a swear word in my world, not anymore, simply stunning presentation with a taste to match. I will be going again next week simply to see if this great experiance was a fluke, fingers crossed. Congratulations to RHS. Thomas Green PS maybe another 30 seconds with the parsnips, nothings perfect :-)

A pleasant restaurant with nice staff. The food is of good quality but not exceptional. The prices are far too high for this type of menu. Much better options locally.

Excellent roast lunch. The chicken was delicious and succulent, served with vegetables. Dessert was also very good. At £30 a head it’s good value. Good service and delightful dining area.

This was a 70th birthday celebration. I do not eat meat or poultry and have aversions to certain other foods/flavours. I emailed the restaurant ahead to advise my preferences. The set menu is limited but they bent over backwards to provide me with altered options which I could eat. The manager and the other staff had been made aware of my preferences. The food and the service were first class.

Bland and disappointing meal. While the environment is lovely the food was absolutely tasteless. I had the duck salad and there is nothing to recommend it at all. A combination of some small pieces of stewed duck, two heads of lettuce (not cut up just put on the plate), no salad dressing and some odd vegetables here and there. The bread served was stale. My post lunch coffee was equally tasteless and was a very loose interpretation of a flat white. Overall I would hesitate dining there again - it is pricey and the food was not worth it at all

We booked a meal for four of us at 7 o’clock after attending the Glow Christmas trail at 6 o'clock in the Gardens. The restaurant was quiet. We chose a nice table in the middle and were given menus straightaway. Orders were taken quickly for both drinks and food. Our meals included a delicious baked Brie starter and a turkey ballotin with roast potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and a lovely gravy plus a side of hassleback potatoes. Desserts followed of sticky toffee pudding and a Christmas pudding and four teas. With two beers, two non alcoholic beers and two G&Ts the bill was £210. Both the food and the service were excellent.

Went for early dinner at Wisley with friend and had the Turkey dinner. It was really excellent. Everything. Cooked perfectly and big portion. Friendly team. Didn’t like the desert of Apple and fruit merengue as it wasn’t cooked.

The best and only semi formal restaurant at Wisely. Ideal for combining a visit to the gardens with a celebratory occasion meal.t A well thought out menu with good choices and well presented food. Service was very good. Efficient and helpful without making you feel rushed. For the quality of the food served the prices were very reasonable. Lunch recommended

We wanted something quite simple, and unfussy, and that is what we got. We were lucky, I think in getting a table, but the menu was small which meant we didn't agonise over it. I have marked the Restaurant down because the 'mayonaise' for my starter was bland (although the dish was tasty - especially the carrot salad. As for the main there was a lump of gristle in the Roast Beef, which should have been sliced thinner. Still it gave my Jaw some exercise. Still quite tasty, and I think I'd come back for a different item. We do get fed up by people asking "is evrything ok" all the time. This (tripadvisor) is the real feedback. I thought the Service was good.

Our first time here and we were delighted. The food ranged from good to outstanding, and the service and ambiance were very good. We thought it was good value for money. But you need to book. One thing to note is that some of the mains can be a bit petite so order a side.

We came here to watch the rugby but left pretty quickly. Dirty toilets and rude bar staff, when asked why the beer is being served in plastic cups, we were told that only regulars get glass. One way to ensure that I don't become a regular I suppose

Very disappointing visit as used to be a lovely pub. No precautions in place for covid - no details being taken from visitors and just 1 small token bottle of hand sanitiser on the bar. Big groups of very young people (made me feel old in mid-30s!)with no attempt at social distancing. Toilets were dirty and smelly. Won't be going back!

A good choice of beers that are kept ready. The staff are lovely especially Paris and Josh who are the best staff we’ve had in a long time. The Swan is a great place to meet friends and family. The Swan is the best local pub.
