Im in love with the weyside! What a place, never been before but I’ll definitely be coming back, its a lovely spot just outside if guildofrd town centre and what a gem it is, lovely food, lovely staff (shout out to Holly, looked after out table so well despite having extremely complicated dietary requirents, and the weyside was prepared). Everyone was so lovely, food was the best ive experieced in guildford - they do a calves liver, thats so rare around these parts. Its a must go place!

Once again we found ourselves at the Weyside and once again we were not disappointed. The food on a busy Sunday evening was top notch and the servers were warm and welcoming even with such a rush of people (Thank you Emily and Chris!) The roast beef was delicious and had plenty on the plate. My brother had the vegan wellington which he said was one of the best vegan alternative roasts he had had! A cracker of a pub with a beautiful warm homely feel inside and the river on the terrace outside, not many better ways to spend a Sunday in my opinion!

We all had Sunday roasts which were excellent, great value and service. One minor area for improvement is the Bloody Mary ordered as it was lacking in some of the elements of flavour and taste you would expect, a spice premix would do a better job. Best A

Wonderful character pub by the river. The service was quick, exceptionally friendly and the Sunday roast delicious. Not too busy this time of year and the pub itself inside has a lovely feel to it. Why it has only 4 stars overall I have no idea but trust me, this is worth a visit.

Sunday lunch. Excellent service and attentiveness made this overall an enjoyable experience. Emily looked after our table and her hospitality and friendly personality elevated our Sunday lunch experience. Sunday roasts were about average, veg on the plates were cold and bordering on being returned to the kitchen but the beef was perfectly cooked and good quality. What a lovely cosy place with wonderfully attentive and caring staff (Thankyou Emily!) We were there for a 40th birthday with family and friends and young children and they accommodated us beautifully!! The staff were helpful, patient kind and courteous, it was good food, nice atmosphere and the kids loved it! They looked after us very well and we will be back very soon as it was so handy with plenty of nearby parking and a short 10 minute walk from town centre if combining with a morning shopping! 10 out of 10 from us!

Wednesday 21st July 2021, From the minute we walked into the Weyside we knew we were going to have a lovely evening. Maisie offered us a table and we asked to change to one nearer the door as it was a scorching hot evening. We had time to kill whilst we were waiting for our daughter to arrive and ordered drinks that arrived with Jess very quickly. nothing was to much trouble the staff were very smiley ,professional, and chatty which added to the enjoyment of our evening.Having read all the reviews before attending the venue, I totally disagree the food we had was very enjoyable, arrived hot and on a reasonable time scale. we were able to change to an outside table after our meal to enjoy the fabulous views and atmosphere. We will definately be back on our next visit to Guildford and thank you all for making the evening so much fun. Carol

I have prior to Covid visited this venue many times, all good times.Today I was very disappointed although I will visit again. The Management need to get a grip with some staff.In my case my drinks order was forgotten, i had to chase it. My food order from the burger shack in my opinion was NOT worth the cost, why you ask, well at £15 for a burger and fries, The burger was not cooked well hard bordering on over done tuff, the fried out of a freezer bag and well well over done. All greasy burnt bit broken curly fries too manufactured.Please please train your staff with quality control, ill try again another day and see if you can improve.Guilford deserves better for a prime location.You could re write you menu to SAY frozen cheap burnt curly fries at £6:50p. true menue.Over cooked dry burger £10:50. Saying that the serving staff and location and cleanliness spot on.Improve certain bar staff and manage shack cooking.See you soon.

Only the burger menu is available outside which is not specified when you book. It took 30 minutes to get cutlery, napkins and sauces. When I ordered ice cream they brought all the wrong flavours and it was melted. On top of this, you are forced to pay in advance on the Youngs App - so I paid a service charge in advance which was not deserved and no chance of a refund. The burgers were good but did not make up for a bad evening!

Chose The Weyside as a venue for a family celebration after our daughter's graduation. Beautiful location and perfect weather- the same could not be said of the service. Our experience echoes many others with reviews on this site. Extremely limited menu outside, app ordering doesn't seem to work, staff seemingly untrained and unable to deal with workload. Waited over an hour for drinks, food took less time but arrived tepid. When asking for help staff not particularly helpful - we even cleared our own table! Took the shine off a special day.

We eat out a lot and being new to Surrey, have sampled a variety of pubs/restaurants in the area. Last night we had the misfortune of experiencing what the Weyside regards as hospitality. Needless to say we will give it a wide birth in future & suggest you do the same. A big fat zero on all fronts (food, service, friendliness) the only thing in it’s favour is the location. As for the manager’s attitude…don’t get me started! Avoid at all costs.

Arrived on a hot sunny afternoon. Pub genuinely not that busy, however, service a shambles. We were seated and ordered drinks & food at the same time. The fact that we finished our food before drinks came...explains it all!Staff were nice enough but absolutely hopeless. Funniest part of our afternoon was that the waiter asked if we wanted to leave a gratuity. Honestly!! We witnessed people leaving because the 45 minute wait for drinks was understandably far too much. The chicken burger was terrible. Something I would expect from a supermarket basic range… but still £10.50 without chips. Such a shame. Young’s- if you read this please sort it out as the pub has the best location in Guildford.

Booked a table for 2 from 6.30-8.30pm arrived at 6.30pm but didn’t get seated until 6.45pm. Ordered two drinks via the app and had to wait nearly 20 minutes. Manager said he was sorry but I the bar was small ! - we ordered a second round which arrived at about 7.45pm. We then thought we had better order one more drink - at 8.25pm it had still not arrived and we had to vacate the table, and all they could offer was our money back. The same thing happened to two other tables around us. Dreadful service, staff constantly making apologies, the pub was nowhere near full. Won’t return.

Can I predicate this review with, the beer was cold.That is about as good as it got here for us on a sunny Friday afternoon in July. Shown to our table politely and told to order via the app. Half the food isn’t available on the app.Food arrived for one person. Drinks still not here. Had ordered curly fries but only regular fries available we were told after questioning it.More food started to arrive along with our drinks, 25 minutes after sitting down.Burgers were very good.Fries cold.Mac and cheese didn’t have any cheese in it. Hot dog roll had mould on it, to which we were told it’s fresh but the climate in the kitchen causes mould in under 6 hours and stale.The staff seemed to be completely untrained. I mean, the management have obviously just hired anyone they can and not bothered to train. Eventually the manager came over and treated us with disdain.Loos lights broken- no windows so pitch black.Lovely spot by the river, shame I will not be returning.

Oh dear, this is not going to encourage anyone to visit The Weyside I’m afraid. Unless you want to sit for an hour (yes an hour) to get a drink, then you may wish to delay you visit. The pub just can not cope with their model of table service. You are asked to order through the app (which many pubs use now) and then wait, and wait, and wait. The first round of drinks took 50 minutes. The second were ordere at 8.47pm and arrived (after asking twice) at 10.05pm. The staff were polite but simply could not cope and the pub needs to take a serious look at the way it is managed. Have visited the pub many times over the past few year but shall not be returning and advising others to avoid I’m afraid. Also, the buns for the hot dogs were stale as could be, and I mean rock hard.

We dropped into The Weyside and managed to get a table by the river edge on a Tuesday lunchtime. Outside meals were from the burger shack, you had to sit inside for the more extensive menu. We both had a very nice chicken katsu burger, perhaps a little pricey but frankly the ambiance and setting was worth it.Service was impeccable, the staff were chatty and attentive, we were made to feel very welcome.These are tough times for pubs and it was great to see a business being run so well.Thoroughly recommend.

Pre pandemic I was here a couple of times a month and always found it good/very good. Tonight was my first visit for a while - it was very disappointing.We waited at reception for 10 minutes as some staff ignored us and others said they would be with us " in a minute".We then had 3 different tables. They had ignored our table request and then moved us around chaotically. It was almost amusing!Then we had to download the Young's app to order. Cumbersome and required payment before delivery of food or drink.The beer was OK but both of us have tasted the same beers in better condition.And, when the food arrived it was cold and served without napkins or cutlery, which took 2 requests to obtain. When we commented on the disappointing food, we were told the "kitchen is busy"In mitigation the place was fairly busy but not packed, and it looked as if other customers were just as unhappy as us.We won't be back.

We turned up unannounced and were offered a table in or outside when we were clearly informed that only burgers were available outside - weird but if thems the rules...We chose outside to take advantage of the sun and traquil view oven the River Wey and were offered an umbrella too.Ordering was via table service, there were plenty of staff around or via the Youngs On Tap app. However the app did not have orange juice & lemonade or lemonade & lime! Youngs fault not the establishment.The katsu burger dressing was overly sweet and strangley sour too, the loaded burger was a little overcooked and tough. Curly fies were the only option - they're always overprocessed and over salted. Fries or fat chips would have been the preferred option.There's no parking but a pay & display carpark 3mins walk away.I rarely eat in Guildford and wouldn#t make a beeline back to the Weyside.

Went here for my brothers 30th Birthday. It was dire, would never come here again. They only had the lunch menu for dinner, many things were out of stock. The menu was extremely limited. Ordered “chargrilled broccoli” chargrilled it was NOT.. Completely boiled with cold sauce dumped on top like a child had made it. All starters were cold , and clearly microwaved. King prawns were mushy and vile, the hummus starter was covered in peppercorns so was inedible. How can one mess up a hummus dish? We all ordered burgers as the menu was awful, the chips were good. Not much more to be said,The service was okay and the waitress was clearly embarrassed about the food. Need a serious change, a complete waste of such a lovely location. Will not be returning.

We were a party of 13 celebrating a 50th birthday and newlyweds. Really wished we’d gone somewhere else. Food took ages to come. Waiter was useless and forgot everything. Missed out drinks. Then after over an hour waiting for food, we got cold food. Uncooked Yorkshire puddings and raw pastry. Burger was like a shoe sole and the replacement stank like it was off. My visit to the pub was pre-booked. When we arrived there were lots of staff to greet us at the door. We were given a small menu which consited of burgers only. I asked if there was another menu, the waiter repled that he didn't know but checked and came back to tell us 'No'! We ordered our burgers and waited about an hour for them to arrive. During this time we noticed other customers eating roasts and salads. When our food finally arrived I asked why we were not offered roasts and salads, the waitress replied 'I don't know, I am only a server'. So, I asked someone else and was told those people pre-booked their food. The staff were ill prepared and ill informed. The pub was not busy and it should not have been too much to let us have something apart from burgers and chips.

Popped in for a bite to eat. On arrival we was greeted by a member of staff at the door who was very polite and welcoming. We didn’t book but luckily enough we got seated outside which was nice over looking the water. The only food you could get at the time was from the burger shack. It was a small menu. You have to download a app to order but was told we could order from a waiter if we had trouble. Once app was downloaded we started to order. As I am a bit fussy of a eater I wanted to remove some items from my burger but couldn’t seem to do so on the app, so we asked a very polite and helpful member of staff who showed us how to write a comment at the final stage about what I wanted to change. Not long after someone come up to our table just to confirm and make sure it’s right. Then the food turned up and it was very nice. On the way out the several members of staff the thanked us as we left. If we are back down the area we will definitely consider going back in. I would recommend this place.

We had a lovely dinner, but definitely missing a trick by having burgers on the regular menu (as well as having the amazing burger shack on site) - that means you're cutting down the options for no good reason. The burger from the burger shack was streets ahead of the one from the main kitchen - it's super confusing why you'd bother having competition within the same establishment. It's rather annoying having food turning up at completely different times from the two kitchens (although this was explained at the time of ordering) but overall a good experience although the burger from the main menu should be avoided at all costs - super bland!

Visited with my partner for an anniversary meal, upon arriving we were seated next to a clearly very intoxicated woman who was screaming across the restaurant. despite the disturbance staff continued to serve her alcohol until she was sick everywhere, even then staff where hesitant to move us- i had to ask to be moved away from a pool of sick! very unprofessional in my opinion. Service was very slow, food and drink is overpriced (nearly £10 for a white wine and lemonade, £5 for a coke)Burger shack was good, still overpriced though, had to pay extra for chips and small portions! really disappointed with how staff dealt with the woman, and although i feel sorry for her, it completely ruined our night, and received little apology from the staff. I am scarred from this, especially having a phobia of sick!Be warned, as it is a rip off

I took my 3 girls & one of their friends for a birthday lunch today. £68 for below average cold macaroni cheese & cold burgers. Our server didn’t write our order down, mine was wrong, when someone else brought it out I pointed out the error. ‘That’s absolutely not what was on your order madam but I can change it for you.’ A) I know what I ordered. B) the server didn’t write our order down so how could you possibly know what was on my order?C) no one likes a sarcastic condescending little smarty pants. We sent back cold macaroni, then a cold beef burger. There was only 1/5 meals not sent back & that was a salad. We were made to feel like we were being difficult! No apology, none of the below average food taken off the order. We were going to stay for desert but went elsewhere. It was a limited pub/bar menu, how can you get basics like this wrong? Absolutely will not be back, ever.

My friends and I were disappointed with The Weyside. Like many venues operating under the constraints of covid they have adopted an order online and deliver-to-table system for drinks and food. There was a notable and unexplained delay in what should be a simple process - drinks orders would always take around 20-25 minutes to arrive. Even something as simple as a single diet coke. It could be quite frustrating. Either better process flow management, an increase in staff or additional staff training is likely required to improve this.If this had been a speedier process with less waiting time we almost certainly would have bought more rounds! So if this experience is common to other patrons the venue is likely to be losing out on takings as a result.

I went today for a lovely lunch and my waitress Alex was absolutely lovely , she was very attentive and she always would ask if everything was okay , the food runner and drink runner were lovely as well!!! I didn’t ask for their names but one had blonde hair and the other had brown hair and they definitely put a smile on my face. The shack burger was great 2!! 100% I will be back , good value for money aswell !!

We had booked to have an outside meal on a Sunday afternoon.On arrival we were told that if sitting outside we could only order from a restricted menu from the Burger shack.This had not been communicated when booking online and then had to download the Young's app to be able to order. Not everything on their menu was available including ox bites and curly fries.After 45 minutes my hot dog arrived and unfortunately the bread was hard and overcooked so just punctuated a disappointing afternoon.

I write this review with an almost solemn approach. The staff here are lovely but I am compelled to complain after today. I was dining alone and was asked if I’d like a drink as I sat down, so far so good! I then proceeded to wait 40 minutes for someone to come and take my food order (I had to flag down a waitress). I ordered a cold starter and after 40 minutes more had to go and chase that up. The crab pate was ok but it is essentially a small amount of crab in a whipped Marie Rose so underwhelming and certainly not worth a 40 minute wait. That was cleared, then after another half an hour my roast beef Sunday lunch arrived. One of my slices of beef was delicious, the other was either an end or had been seared on a hot plate so was dry and tough. Ordinarily I’d have mentioned this but it had been such a rocky start that I didn’t have it in me to complain more.The staff here are lovely, Zoe was very friendly and accommodating, a real friendly face (I’ve been here for just drinks before and she was the same then, a true asset to the team). As was the gentleman that sat me. All the staff here are lovely but this was overall a terrible experience, I would not recommend. For the sake of being transparent 2 large glasses of wine were taken off my bill but I still feel I overpaid for the experience I had. I’ve been deciding recently where to go with 5x6 of us for a friends birthday and The Weyside was a X front runner up until today; a real shame. The staff are brilliant, but there’s clearly a fundamental problem along the route somewhere. I would like to end my review by saying thank you to Zoe and the rest of the lovely waiting staff. I will give it 6 months and come back. Hopefully these are problems that are apparent due to the new style of service post covid.I gave two stars not a half a star as I started off with because the food is ok and the staff are wonderful.

We had an excellent lunch on Saturday. Covid facilities all good. Staff all very friendly and helpful, comfortable chairs, nice decor, perfect ambience. I thought it was a shame as the weather was so sunny that we could not be outside but the other 3 in our party said we had a better position as the table was right opposite the open double open doors, overlooking the river, which in the end I had to agree was good! Finally, the food was perfect, we all had a different starter and main course and all of them were well presented, cooked well, and tasted great. What more could you ask for. We shall be back. Having driven past the setting was somewhere myself and my boyfriend wanted to visit! We booked a table outside in the restaurant. When we arrived we waited around 10 minutes before even being acknowledged by who I assume was the manager or supervisor. We were seated outside on a two seater right in the middle of the floor, we were told that we had to order through the app, ( which you had to download and asked for multiple questions including trouser leg size. ) but could order off the main menu which only had 4 main dishes on, and would need to get a waiter to take the order. Trying to get hold of a waiter was like playing catch. We decided to order a burger off the “shack” menu as we didn’t manage to get hold of the waiting staff. Myself and my boyfriend order one still water, a beer a burger & two fries, which came to £30!!! And added a gratituty of 10%… not sure what I was tipping.I requested to move tables with the manager and had advised he was waiting for a table of 6 and asked what about the other one which also advised another 6…. Funnily enough 20 minutes later there was a 2 on the 6! The burger and chips came out as quick as McDonald’s… the patties were dry and served in a paper box… like it was a takeout. Don’t even bother wasting your time if your looking for a nice meal out take a picnic and sit on the other side of the river.

Rung over a week ago to book a table on the 12th for outside for 7 people as it wouldn't let me do this online. Was advised this was fine and I would recive a confirmation email. Unfortunately didn't receive a confirmation email, so decided I would email and confirm booking. Many places have become booked up and due to it being for my husbands birthday I didn't want to get there to find we didn't have a booking and I had nothing in writing to confirm. I have have had to email again on the 2nd of june due to not getting a response and have called 11 times throughout the week and havnt been able to get through to any one or leave a voice mail. I still havnt received an email back. I have emailed another pub who got back to me the next day so will be using that pub so I know for sure I have somewhere booked for my husbands birthday. It's such a shame communication and contact is so poor as it's such a lovely pub in a gorgeous setting.

We came for lunch. We had booked online and had booked an outdoor table. Once we got the menus we were told we could only order fromThe “snack shack”. This is just burgers. It was not ideal and would have been better to have known in advance, but we were happy to be seated in a nice spot on the river. Other than the setting by the river, this place is just average . Our drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive. The burgers took about 45 minutes to arrive (having had to ask where our food was). The burgers were acceptable - very thin and very cooked, but acceptable to a hungry family. From a Covid point of view a number of the staff wore masks across their mouths only, not covering their noses.It’s certainly not terrible (except the wait times), but feels very much like a “chain” pub with no real care behind it.

We arrived with a very friendly host who sat us promptly in the conservatory. We ordered drinks and waited for our food order to be taken. We waited for half an hour to order our starters and mains. The starter arrived in 15 minutes and was really tasty. Only qualm being the bread for the prawns was served underneath, soaking all the juices up not leaving any crunch in the bread. Our mains arrived half an our later which was fine with us as we were trying to waste time anyway. One of our three servers came to us to offer dessert before our main had even arrived! The burger was good but had some grizzle in the mincemeat. The fries were greasy but crispy, so we couldn’t finish them. We ended up leaving after nearly 2 hours before ordering dessert but all in all we had a good time, but the service and food standards left us wanting a bit more.

Heads up - don’t go here to eat or drink perhaps?. It’s a shame because it’s a lovely looking place but then you clearly can’t judge something by it’s appearance. There was only the two of us aswell, it’s not like we came in a huge group of people and it was also 2pm in the afternoon, so unlikely food would take so long right? It was a Tuesday too.Firstly, the drinks took 30 minutes to arrive and we had already paid using the app so had to wait. I asked for not much ice and lots of fruit in my Pimms, I then discovered upon its arrivalI that I had in fact been given the opposite where I had lots of ice and barely any fruit - a slice of lemon infact. However we did not say anything because to be honest we were pretty damn thirsty on the hottest day of the year…Oh… and then we waited 1.5 hours for the waitress to then tell us they had delivered our food to the wrong table but that was only after she asked us if we wanted to order food, to which we replied “No, we ordered food 1.5 hours ago…” They did them suggest they could make it within 15 minutes - seems rather bizarre after it’s taken them 1.5 hours to deliver anything. So nahhhhh I said McDonalds would have better service and turn around their meals in five minutes so… we left without paying for our drinks and got a full refund.

We were seated quickly to an outdoor table which we had booked but then proceeded to wait 45 minutes before being approached to order food and drinks. We ordered and waited another 20 minutes by which time the food arrived but still no drinks! Drinks arrived eventually but on receiving the bill were charged for drinks we hadn’t had. Thought this might be a one off as it was a busy bank holiday but judging by the other reviews obviously not. Such a shame as it is a beautiful location.

Had such a fantastic meal on Monday that we decided to book again and bring the family on Thursday. What a disappointment the second time, waited 30 minutes for drinks, then 45 minutes more for starters (waitress apologised and gave us starters free). Ordered the same winter salad as Monday but this time no broccoli and roast potatoes NOT the Jersey Royals which the menu described. Outraged and pointed this out but they seemed not to be bothered.

We went for lunch. Took 20 mins before I had to call a waiter over. Another 25 mins for our drinks to arrive. The food arrived fairly quickly from their burger bar but they were overcooked and cold. Chips stone cold. Considering that the burger + chips is £18... pretty poor. Took 15mins to get cutlery and they bought us just 2 knives... for four of us eating a full meal each?! Another 15 mins to get two thimbles of mayo and two thimbles of tomato sauce for four of us. Pudding came without cutlery. When we asked for cutlery we got 2 forks (again for 4 of us) for sticky toffee pudding and ice cream?! Asked for spoons, 2 soup spoons came. By which stage the sticky toffee was cold and the ice cream had melted. We gave the feedback. Someone came after we had paid to say next time you're in there's a round on us. Which is a nice gesture but realistically no way will he remember us or would we be brassy enough to come in again and ask for a free round. Such a shame because it's a great location. Appreciate so many people are training up staff again so wasn't expecting perfect *chefs kiss* service or gourmet food standards, but the basics like cutlery, hot food and timely service sure surely be achievable for the prices being charged.

Our experience with This venue was amazing. From the host to the time we left everything made you feel like you were on holiday in France. The venue is absolutely stunning, opposite a park. Swans and ducks on the river and dog friendly terraces. Two choices of menus( regular summery pub menu and American burger.) lots of cocktails on offers. We will definitely come back. If I could leave no stars, I would. A month in advance I booked an outdoor table, to be sure that we would be seated outside on the bank holiday which was set to be busy. When we arrived we were seated inside and told there was nothing they could do and that they would move us outside, if space was available. We sat inside (whilst other new arrivals were taken outside) and waited 40 minutes for a jug of Pimms which was 80% ice, and a full hour for food. We stopped multiple staff to ask and it seemed that no one was bothered, maybe because we were the only inside table. It was an incredibly expensive and disappointing visit and I don’t ever intend to return. Such a shame for a pub with a nice location to have such bad customer service. I don’t recommend the Weyside - save your money, go elsewhere

Very pleasant staff and very covid safe. We sat outside and under cover so all those concern were catered for including heated area. However the service wasn’t great. We were frequently left having to go into the main building to ask for service. When an order was placed it took a ridiculous amount of time for drinks to come out. When we ordered food before a larger table of 8 came to sit near us, the table of 8 got their food first. We were only 5. Staff didn’t seem to know the table numbers but that maybe because new staff were working since reopening on 17th. Food was ok but not worth the price but I have to say the biggest dissatisfaction was the slowness of service and having to keep going inside time after time to ask for assistance.

We were worried as we had booked a table for 12 outside during a rainy and windy evening! Although when we first got there the tables were wet and the umbrellas over our table were not fully covering us or opened (which wasn't great), the team were very good at trying to keep us as covered as possible! They eventually brought over more umbrellas for us so that we could enjoy the evening without getting wet. All the staff were really friendly. The food and drink came quickly throughout the night (we used the app). It was a bit of a shame that we did not have access to the full menu as we were sat outside but the burgers and fries were still good. Drinks were also a bit expensive. Jess (who was on her first shift) was delightful - very friendly and helpful with all our requests! We turned up thinking we would only stay a few hours because of the bad weather but we ended up staying the whole night. We will certainly be coming back hopefully on a sunnier day.

We visited for a girly celebration lunch, we booked one of the outside cabins with a heater as it was b4 restrictions were lifted.The staff were really friendly and attentive, we ordered ourselves using the App but they constantly came out and checked on us even though it was raining!!The food (Sunday Roast) was delicious, I would have loved a gooey choc brownie for pudding or something similar but Only a few desert options and nothing chocolate!!we had taken some cakes which our waitress brought out for us with some coffees.A lovely pub in a great location next to the River and parking right next door.This was my 2nd visit and it didn't disappoint.

These are obviously strange times to be reviewing anywhere and a review now is almost a reflection on how the establishment is responding to the unique conditions in which we now live rather than 'normal'. To this end I cannot fault The Weyside, the precautions are all there, the booking system was easy. We were advised in advance that the menu would be from the Burger Shack but were pleasantly surprised when sunday roast options were also available. The app worked worked well, the service was quick and the staff were very helpful assisting us finding a peg for an umbrella when a brief shower came over. All in all a lovely afternoon overlooking the canal.

Was shown to our table by a lovely member of staff that said if wen required any help, someone would be over to help. It was difficult to get the attention of any other members of staffFinally worked out the app, ordered two cokes that came as Diet Coke (not a massive big) so didn’t make a fuss. I wrote in the notes that I wanted a burger to be plain, it came full with so my request had been ignored by also didn’t make a fuss.There was also a hair on top of one of the burgers, my dad also didn’t want to make a fuss and quietly mentioned it to the waitress who had brought out food There was little or no apology and she didn’t appear phased or offer any kind of replacement. I then asked the waitress for ketchup, she brought over one very small pot between three and when we asked for more, she didn’t seem particularly bothered and almost shrugged as if our request was an inconvenience and then just brought just one extra small pot over so this left just two small pots between three. The food also did take a while to come and wasn’t very warm like it had been sat a while before we were served.The setting was lovely and the food was nice but overall I left disappointed and wouldn’t recommend and I won’t be returning.

Waited for a while to be seated as no one was at the host station, by the time someone came there was a queue of around 5 groups waiting. First lot of drinks took 25 minutes to arrive, following two drinks orders took 15 minutes - not sure why it takes so long when you order via an app so it's not like you're waiting for a staff member to take your order - if anything should be quicker. Had to ask for tap water twice (can't order on app). It was a very sunny day and I was getting burnt so we asked to move to a table which we could see was free (a table of two just like the one we were on), the staff member checked with the host and then said no as it was booked. That table remained free with no one sitting on it for the next hour and a half and then eventually got changed into a table of four by a staff member so it was clearly never booked. Overall very poor service which is such a shame for a pub in a lovely setting.

Lovely evening with friends. Throughly enjoyed our evening at the Weyside. Group of 6 friends meeting after what felt like years. Awful service, it always is. The vegetarian option burger was a joke for £17. We thought after a year of being closed they might of got a grip but it’s still shocking. One persons food came out 30 mins before the rest, no compensation on the bill. The staters took 30 mins. Our first meal out after lockdown and we really wishes we hadn’t spent our money there. We have since complained without a satisfactory response. I’ll never go back again, just so awful

Terrible! What a beautiful location ruined by a terrible pub. I understand things are a bit slower at the moment and it’s a difficult time but only being able to order by app is an ordeal in itself! The food was a joke. Cold halloumi fries followed by one meal of soggy fish and chips full of bones, a Caesar salad with a lump of chicken on top like a piece of leather and a terrible ‘superfood’ salad! First time it came out as some lettuce, quinoa, a slice of tomato and some cold tender stem broccoli (which was advertised as chargrilled!). Sent it back as it was missing the roasted butternut squash and the cheese. Came back with some sliced cheese slapped on the side. Sent back again only to be told the ‘chef’ (a term that should be used very loosely!) had burned all of the butternut squash. It came back for a third time with a few extra bits of normal brocolli on and someone had got creative with a couple of broad beans, a radish and a dash of olive oil! Only visit if it’s a drink you want and you’ve got a lot of time on your hands. Probably best popping to M & S and getting something to eat! Wasn’t even offered a drink as an apology or actually even an apology! What a waste of what was meant to be a special family reunion lunch
