The best restaurants serving British food in Gravesham South East

It always a pleasure to visit this very friendly tea room and enjoy some of the wonderful cakes, as well as the well cooked breakfasts and lunches that are on offer. Ben’s lemon drizzle and poppy seed cake that I enjoyed yesterday was food for the gods. I know of no other such business that when they make a hot chocolate that you get a cup of it, and alongside it a jug of the same; both for a very reasonable price. Brilliant customer service and I can’t wait to go back for another visit. The venue can also be hired for private functions and I often notice as I drive past in the evenings that such events are taking place. Dennis Usher

Love this little cafe, really lovely sandwiches and cakes and the prices are decent too! Perfect place to come have a sit down and a cup of tea after shopping.

Wow what an amazing evening! We booked for five of us to have a wonderful Christmas eve dinner. Started by having a few drinks in the bar then a young waiter called James came to get us to tell us that our table was ready and then proceeded to service flawlessly all evening. The food was amazing the staff could not do enough to help. The entertainment was good fun, just what you want after a few drinks on Christmas Eve! And a big thank you to the manager Kelly who squeezed us in last minute, she does an amazing job there! Roll on next year!!

Fantastic place to visit for a drink, food, or both. Excellent bar staff, fine range of drinks, great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Lots to choose from. Our meal was lovely, freshly cooked and very tasty. Service was very good. Lovely views of St George's Church from the cafe.

Lovely venue on a farm with an in-house bakery serving some lovely and well executed breads, cakes and pastries. Staff are always on hand to talk you through the options on the menu. Both food and coffee are very enjoyable.

Poor service very grumpy waitress and we had to endure tinny music at an uncomfortable volume. It really spoiled what could have been a nice experience the cafe was very clean and food was nice. Shame about the atmosphere.

Lovely place and I really liked the Royal Clarendon, the staff were lovely and it was in a great location .

The Windmill is a lovely cosy and family oriented local pub and I can see why the regulars always return, from the helpful and friendly bar staff to the open fires. The tasty Sunday roasts they show on their social media definitely meets expectations in real life, on Sunday my family and I ate here, all the food came out at once and the food was hot, the beef cut through nicely and the chicken was juicy! The Roasties were one of the best roasties I’ve had for a long time. The cheesecake desert was to die for! Well done The Windmill, your dinners are a home from home roast! And I’ll definitely be back again!

We went to the Darnley Arms for Sunday lunch. This is a really friendly, really authentic English village pub. Friendly staff who provide great service and great food. Excellent, well done Darnley Arms team
