I use this public house every Sunday and now matter what's happening Grace ( my dog ) and myself are always made to feel welcome and Grace gets spoiled rotten. 10 out of 10

What a brilliant evening! We only came out for a quick chat, and there was karaoke. Normally this would put us off, but everyone was getting involved (even the landlord!) and the atmosphere was incredible. Hats off to the staff, who kept everyone happy all night.

Went there as the Chefs guest on Sunday and what an absolute treat it was. Starters was a choice of three and we had the homemade soup. Stilton and Broccoli it was lovely. Main course I chose the gammon and beef and along with one of the best Yorkshire puddings I have ever had along with lovely roast potatoes and parsnips and fresh vegetables it was a real treat. The pudding I chose was sticky toffee and with proper custard. The location was great and the food was excellent well worth a visit and we will be going back. Jimmy L

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon here, staff were friendly and very accommodating. The Roast dinner was amazing from the lamb right down to the roasted carrots ! Highly recommend!

I used to drink here many years ago, and myself and some friends have been in a few times recently. We had food yesterday and it was great Better than I expected. Manor Farm Barn and the Prince of Orange which are my local pubs do food but they are very pricey. Our food waa excellent and at a very reasonable price. I met Ed the landlord who as I understand it, is also the chef. I had scampi and chips and my partner had chicken wrap. Both delicious. The times I have visited recently I have been welcomed as If I was a regular and I really appreciate that. I have been served by Ed and two of his waitresses, whom I made a note of their names because they are so happy and friendly. In a pub this is so important to me, my colleagues, friends and family. Looking forward to a big night out with us all as I feel safe and welcomed. Great place, fantastic food and friendly, welcoming staff. I am regular at the windmill tavern, great quiet family pub. Just situated outside of the town centre quiet enough but not loud like town. Highly recommended. Great gardens to sit a chill in. Visited here on a Tuesday, asked about food,kitchen not open on a Tuesday, so had some chrisps instead..Nice pint of Guinness for me and my mate had a cider which he enjoyed. Very nice beer garden out back to enjoy the sun.

Back again 2024. BBQ was amazing. All natural selection of meat and cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere for all. Don’t want to go home.

I'm not sure about food as the first time visiting this venue. Family gathering in the garden. Two private events were taking place. Large garden divided into two sections. BBQ was available, reasonably priced. Parking was limited. Would definitely revisit if in the area. Staff friendly and helpful.

I went with the family for an anniversary occasion. The garden is huge with beautiful flowers and lead into windmill hill with its tennis courts and bowling green. The tavern itself looks rustic. Seating area is very comfortable. Well worth a visit.

A farewell to a friend of our daughters was the occasion. The garden area is laid out with benches, tables surrounded by Roses of all colours, plenty of other flowers, giving a summery atmosphere as all present , chatted, drank and the dad's/ uncles played with the children who clearly enjoyed the location. Prices as expected. Parking is not so easy. A pleasant experience.

Good atmosphere, good beer, nice garden. I haven't tried the food so I can't comment. My only complaint is that parking is very limited, but as it is a pub, and its probably a good idea to get an Uber to it, I haven't marked it down for this.

The only reason I have a TripAdvisor account is to write this review. I have never been to such a pub. Kids everywhere including at the bar which I think is illegal isn’t it, dogs off leads, dogs on seats, dogs walking behind the bar, dogs in the no dogs bar, almost no bar staff, run out of glasses, dope smoking in the garden and out the front. Not sure who was in charge. I’ll stick to my local.

What a feast! James outdid himself today! Absolutely incredible Yorkshire pudding loads of fresh cooked vegetables and as much tasty gravy as you want!

Came down to try the roast dinners after a good recommendation from a friend and my god they were good! My Mrs said she finally has found somewhere that does a roast as good as home! The staff were fantastic and very accommodating and all the food and drinks were to die for. Even the customers in there were lovely! thank you guys will definitely be back!

We don't enjoy going out for a Sunday Roast as they're usually nowhere near as good as the wife's but we decided to give her the day off for Mothers day and try somewhere new. I had the lamb, the wife had the beef and the kids had the chicken. Very nice indeed, great portion sizes and everything cooked well with proper gravy! Staff were very friendly and the Garden looked lovely. We'll be back.

This is my go to pub when I am visiting family in Gravesend. Friendly staff and a great owner (Paul).

I visited on Saturday 2023-08-19 ~14:00 for a late lunch. The beer garden was big and got plenty of tables. The burger 🍔 was ok, fresh from the grill. Nothing could have gone wrong really since it only has simple components. However beer and food options were quite limited, also the general cleanliness wasn’t great.

Visiting friends in the area, this was the venue recommended for lunch. I have to confess that, on arrival, I found the interior to be rather shabby and was concerned about the apparent lack of customers and staff. As the weather was warm, we chose to sit in the garden and, once again, it all seemed rather tired and shabby. However, the staff that served us were all friendly and the food was fantastic. There were four of us and, between us, we ordered three scampi and chips and one burger. The food was well cooked and well presented. More importantly, it was served hot and very quickly. I wish I had gone for the burger, because that looked amazing and I have since heard that burgers at The Windmill Tavern are bordering on legendary. So no complaints about the food or the staff but, for me personally, I just wanted the inside and outside spruced up a little. Then again, people tell me that "Shabby Chic" is a style, so perhaps I am the one who is out of touch!!

We had hired the gazebo for a family and friends celebration several months ago, and despite some changes in staff/management between booking and the event itself, the current staff made sure our event was as we'd originally hoped. Ed and Louise and the rest of the team did brilliantly to accommodate our party of 60, reserving an area in the sun as well as making the gazebo look amazing for us. They were really helpful with our large pre-order of bottles for arrival drinks for people, and were really helpful when it came to some guests' dietary requirements. The BBQ food that was available went down a treat! All our guests had a great time and said how lovely the garden is and that they would be back. We were really happy and would recommend it as a perfect venue for a big get-together.

Nice looking pub but needs to improve on customer service/care. Visited here on Mothers Day and had a cracking meal and the staff who were there at the time were fantastic. Sadly though the staff who had customer care skills have now sadly left. I booked for an event for my Birthday in July yet the pub had the audacity to cancel my booking without even ringing me up even though they had my mobile number written down in their diary. They said they contacted me via email yet I never received this email. All very sad as when the previous staff were there it ran like clockwork. All it needs is for them to have some customer care skills and it would be a lovely pub.

What a shame! This used to be the best pub in Gravesend but has become a mess with awful service. We popped in for some drinks and food but the kitchen was closed despite the sign outside. It took ages to get served just drinks as there was no one behind the bar for a while. We was going to ask about coming back later for food but the barmaid was on her phone. It all looks so unloved now with a couple of strange but friendly locals making it even less attractive! Please, please turn back the clock!!!

The four of us went for Sunday lunch on Mother's Day, cracking place. Staff were lovely and food was amazing. Its the extra touches that matter and today my Wife was offered a complimentary drink for Mothers Day, meal came with complimentary wine and then at the end she was presented with a box of chocolates. Great seeing the place busy too. Thank you we will be back for definite.

Would leave 0 stars if I could! Was charged £9 for 3 diet cokes only to find out we’d been served tescos own brand diet cola! When I pointed it out I was shrugged at and told the taps were broken. Drink was undrinkable so took it back to the bar and requested a refund. Got told you always get charged more at a pub. If you’re going to charge £3 for a single Diet Coke, you should be buying the branded and you’d still be making a profit to cover your over heads. Disgusting.

I visited with friends for afternoon tea and I could not fault the garden or the service. Food was lovely with a nice selection and staff were attentive.

A fantastic pub with a great atmosphere. The Sunday lunch is to die for!! Hands down succulent meat, crispy potatoes and beautiful crunchy veg served in generous portions! The garden was a gorgeous place to enjoy the meal and the attention to detail from the gardener is amazing. I think he should be on the Chelsea flower show the garden is that beautiful. So definitely make room and roll up to the windmill tavern. A great place any day of the week!

Wow, what a pub! I visited for the first time this week and quite honestly I’ve never had pub food SO GOOD! The service was amazing, everyone is friendly and attentive. The pub is well presented and the garden is amazing, will definitely be spending a lot of my summer evenings there! The food is incredible, great portion sizes and well presented. Looking forward to visiting again soon!

I visited the Windmill today with my nan, we both had the sweet chilli chicken wrap made by the Chef Joe, amazing 10/10. Will definitely be coming back!

The Windmill Tavern is a precious gem. My wife took me there yesterday for Sunday lunch to mark my birthday. It was the best Sunday lunch I have ever had out without a doubt! We started with a sharing plate of crispy whitebait and excellent Tartare sauce. This had to be followed by the roast beef and all the trimmings. The topside was superb, perfectly cooked and succulent. There was attention to detail with everything on the plate. The carrots were plentiful and tasty were just right - as were the broccoli and cauliflower. The roast potatoes were crisp on the outside and fluffy within and the Yorkshire pudding was great both in flavour and texture. The wine we chose was top of the range. And the service was impeccably friendly. All in all I had the best birthday outing for a very long time. Thank you.

Very clean and friendly venue. A lovely outside area to socialise. There was a live band there. The music and the vybz was electrifying. The staff are helpful and great service. Would recommend if you in the Gravesend area.

Disappointed that the discriminate against vegetarians. The pint and burger offer is only available with meat burgers. Over a £ 6 difference yet the spicy vegetarian burger is not even a good quality veggie burger. They both come with same garnish and dressings.

Awesome place, basically like a country pub but in the Windmill Hill Conservation Area just outside of Gravesend Town Centre. A characterful pub with a massive gorgeous beer garden, friendly, helpful staff, great homecooked food and a good range of drinks. They have live music and events there regularly too.
