The best restaurants serving British food in Central Hove Brighton and Hove South East

Read the reviews and was a bit dubious given the unassuming frontage, but the vegan paella was superb - really full of flavour. I was sad when it was finished! Will definitely come again.

Went to the Garden Café in the morning with my girlfriend, and it was such a lovely experience. I had the Biscoff pancakes and the Saksuka— both were really nice, especially the pancakes which were rich and full of flavour. The whole vibe of the place was calm, pleasant, and honestly... just cute. Perfect for a relaxed morning. Would definitely recommend!

I really can't recommend this place enough. I LOVE fish and chips and this is in my top 5 places of all time. If I'm playing a concert in Hove with Sussex Symphony orchestra, this is only a10min walk from our venue The fish is to die for, so fresh, faultless! Generous portions and all freshly cooked. It really doesn't get better than this.

After a glowing recommendation from my daughter I was very happy to be having breakfast at oeuf. I ordered the crab and crayfish with the nori seaweed after quite a long wait our order arrived the crab and crayfish was very wet as if just defrosted and the nori seaweed was fridge cold.. I ate the egg and toast as we had waited so long I was hungry. When it came to paying I did mention the fact that the seafood was very wet and the nori was cold.. the waiter said I will mention it to the chef. You are only as good as your last meal oeuf..I won’t be returning

Superb beach side cafe on the sea front offering English food , a selection of jacket potatoes with good sides and fillings . Hot dogs and sandwiches with hot and cold beverages with a great sea view of the promenade and beach .

Disappointing, over an hour waiting on food to be served. Very quiet, no atmosphere, won't visit again!

This is a sweet, friendly, glorious pub, not far from the centre of Brighton and Hove.. The atmosphere is always calm, except when sporting events take over - great for football... The craft beer is superb (and only £3.30 a pint on Tuesday!) and the Pub Grub great too. The staff? Well, tonight it was Delsin, Ruby, Dom and Amy the manager..all brilliant as always. In Brighton? Come here - pleasure guaranteed!

The Sussex is a warm and welcoming community pub. There are regular entertainments and activities to get o solved with.

Take your dogs, shut the baby gates and relax, as they play with other doggie customers and the owners dog. let them sit on the settees, and relax too

Visit was early morning - 4⭐️only due to few other customers (no problem at all!). Light, airy, comfortable. Good music (not intrusive). Service excellent quality of food/beverages very good. Relaxed atmosphere. Lavatories spotless with all amenities. Will definitely return.

Very fresh and tasty food, cod and chips lunchtime special is a great deal. We have been three times now and we’ve had great food every time
