Went to the Garden Café in the morning with my girlfriend, and it was such a lovely experience. I had the Biscoff pancakes and the Saksuka— both were really nice, especially the pancakes which were rich and full of flavour. The whole vibe of the place was calm, pleasant, and honestly... just cute. Perfect for a relaxed morning. Would definitely recommend!

It's open until EIGHT. What's not to like about that? Didn't have food but the coffee was excellent and service friendly. Cute place full of plants, cosy nooks and chill music.

Stopped by at this cafe for a quick refreshing coffee, but ended up spending more than hour enjoying the calm atmosphere. 100% would go back to Brighton just for this place!!

I can't believe I've only just discovered this place. I'm so impressed and excited to go back. I love a great matcha spot and I think this is one of my new favourites! Their chilled lavender matcha drink was incredible. Thier pistachio croissant was devine. I can't wait to try more of the menu!

Perfect zen study/work spot, with the best tea selection

My concern was never about the fruit topping fig or raspberry but about the texture, color and taste of the cake itself, which wasn’t fresh. I understand your team believes it was, but as a paying customer, I simply shared my honest impression. As for the donut situation, I wasn’t aware of your policy regarding outside food, I mentioned that the cake wasn’t fresh like the one I saw and I specifically said “it’s not the same as I ordered, I just saw her bring it fresh on a tray and had a raspberry on it” you simply swapped the fruit and returned the same cake. That response felt dismissive and, frankly, a bit disrespectful. Despite that, I still made the effort to put my food away and honor your policy moving forward. More troubling is the way my feedback about the cake was seemingly dismissed or minimized by linking it to the entirely unrelated donut matter. That approach feels both unprofessional and unfair. My comments about the cake stand entirely on their own and should not be invalidated by a separate misunderstanding. To be clear, I was not upset about the policy itself, at the end I did respect it and complied without issues. What I found disappointing was the way I was treated in the process, which came across as unnecessarily disrespectful and dismissive. I’ve always made an effort to support and uplift local businesses, including yours. That’s why I chose to visit your café in the first place and why I took the time to offer feedback. I would hope that future customer concerns especially when shared with honesty are met with a little more openness, sincerity, and appreciation.

Tasty sandwiches and excellent coffee. One minor point for improvement would be to try and space the tables out a bit more but this won't be an issue in quieter periods.

Gorgeous cafe, interior is beautiful which added to the lovely experience. Very efficient staff and great selection of teas and cakes!

I had a very nice salmon and fried egg toasted sourdough sandwich and americano, served promptly in this popular and busy cafe. A little pricey but it's a pleasant and quirky venue.

Popped in for a quick coffee. Really lovely cafe with great atmosphere. Lots of plants and interesting decor. Tables laid out nicely with some cute nooks. Chai latte was amazing, really tasty. Nice option for a healthy cookie too. If you’re not a fan of overly sweet things bf a then this is a good choice.

This is a beautiful cafe in central brigton with an almost maze like layout and jungle atmosphere. The coffee is great and the cakes are the highlight, especially the basque cheesecakes. Be sure to find a seat and get a table number before ordering as it's busy due to popularity.

Been before and was impressed with the food . However today taken my son for birthday cakes not very good the chocolate cake was so dry was like sand. girlfriend cake tasted like of milk . 4 cakes and two teas £34 was hoping for something better unfortunately left disappeared wouldn't be returning 😕 😪

The food and drink was heaven. Lots of the best greens - pistachio, avocados and matcha! 🍵 I would be here all the time if I lived local. The staff were fantastic and the atmosphere was so calm and friendly. Dogs welcome 🤗

Not many places can nail the atmosphere and the food. Come here for a lovely Sunday breakfast before returning home, you won’t regret it!

First, I found a hair on their cake. Second, the staff told me it’s not allowed to use the laptop on the weekend here(it’s the policy, which is ridiculous)

The decor is very welcoming and the overall atmosphere is lovely but on my visit I found the person that met me on entry to be almost cross that I’d come in. Not at all friendly. But the worst thing for me was the £4.20 for a fresh mint tea! Hot water and three small leaves of mint! I would have complained if I weren’t in a hurry!

Not the cheapest place to eat in Brighton, but the quality of the food is proportionate, so I'd still say it's good value. Huge array of delicious cakes and even an impressive range of kombucha. Great service too. Go on, treat yourself!

It was my first time coming to this cafe as my family spoke highly about it in the past. One of the waiters came over and shouted over to us in front of the busy cafe “would you mind moving I have a table of 8 coming in” I was absolutely stunned that not only was I asked this during a mouthful of food it was announced in front of other tables. This felt extremely intimidating and pressuring as being pregnant getting up so abruptly caused such awful indigestion. Due to intimidation we moved ourselves to another table taking all of our plates of half eaten food and coffees whilst this same male waiter stood over and offered to take one plate down as my sister was struggling to carry everything. I thought the treatment was absolutely disgusting and so inappropriate! I want this addressed with the staff member.

the salads are always incredible and such a lovley aesthetic shop, however there’s been a few times where the coffee was not amazing, but other times it was.

Unfortunately the place isn’t allergy friendly. It seemed like their allergen information booklet didn’t actually match what was actually on top of the products. I chose a piece of white chocolate &strawberry cake which I was told was free from nuts, but when it was brought over to me my server noticed it was covered in pistachios. Luckily I’m not allergic to tree nuts, but if someone with a pistachio allergy came in they might end up being served something that the cafe has written down as being nut-free when it actually isn’t. I also have a peanut allergy, and peanuts normally aren’t grouped under nuts as they are a legume.

The food selection here is excellent. Have been here twice during our visit and it does not disappoint. Fresh and healthy and delicious! Sorry no photo- ate my garden breakfast too quick!

One of our favourite places in Brighton. Always so welcoming with great food and drinks. A phenomenal selection of sweet treats and I can highly recommend the Halloumi sandwich. Thanks for always looking after us and our doggos!

A nicely decorated cafe in Brighton. They could improve their breakfast a bit. They overcook the bread and it dries it out. They should be careful otherwise it is perfect

I was a bit worried initially it was more of an instagram trap but the coffee and cake we had was lovely and the overall vibe has a charming tranquil quaint feeling to it. The pricing falls in line with most other places, I would definitely love to return to try some other drinks at some point. I think one thing I might suggest to staff is maybe adding something to prevent the back door from slamming quite so loud, I found it easy enough to just close it gently but most were just letting it slam shut.

I am a regular customer at the Garden Cafe as I work locally. The coffee is the best in Brighton Adele's food is exceptional - the salads are so delicious and the toasted sandwiches - and the staff are so nice and friendly - thanks to all the team especially Isaiah Elif and Esin - keep doing what you do - the new changes and expansion are wonderful - my friends all love it too Thanks Nicky Mark :))

Deserves nothing less than 5*. Simply one of the best cafe's around. Amazing food, vibrant/unique atmosphere and attentive staff. This is a must visit for anyone in the area.

I had a homemade quiche with sweet potato & kale salad.It was a good choice! Very delicious. Having a lunch in the room with lots of plants is my favourite thing to do!

The garden salad was really nice, with olives, poached eggs, pomegranate and chickpeas. 🥗🥑🍳🍅 The turkish lanterns and botanical decor make the cafe charming and tranquil. 🪴🌵

Nice place but the staff weren't great. We had 3 interactions where they kept telling us that we were sitting at the wrong table, or moving us around, after being there for over half an hour and about to order more drinks, finally we were told quite bluntly that there was a no laptop policy (neither previous staff member had said this) so we just left. It wasn't like they needed the table back as they weren't full. It felt like we had constantly been inconveniencing them the whole time by just existing and choosing to spend out money there

Very nice food! All beit I feel like you could get a bit more on the plate for the price. The atmosphere of the cafe is the real reason to go though! Lovely place.

Been here many times since living in Brighton. Impressive food and decor. Happy they have expanded to next by store for more seating.

This is such a lovely spot and so cosy and gorgeous inside. I called in one afternoon to pick up a cake and it was beyond delicious, so I decided to come back with my family for breakfast. I ordered the pancakes and am sad to say that two of the pancakes were burnt and inedible. I was surprised they were happy to serve them like that. I did mention it when asked how our meal was and they apologised. Such a shame as the table opposite had a fabulous looking stack of pancakes and the cake I had was great!

This place is pleasant, food is tasty, and meals are creatively crafted. On top of everything, the coffee is just delicious! It is a family owned business, and the entire family runs the restaurant and works in it. It is worth visiting, I did, and I became a regular.

This is a great place to have some delicious cake and coffee! Really peaceful and pleasant inside. They have lots to choose from on their displays, which makes it 10x harder to decide what you want, as everything just looks amazing! I had a raspberry cake and a lavender latte both heavenly. I did end up using a coffee shot which i later regretted, as the latte without the coffee is good as it is! Would give 5* had the service been a little more enthusiastic to match the vibe, it was very straight forward but still ok. I highly recommend this place.

Excellent food at a reasonable price considering the lanes. Service forgot to bring multiple items which was a little disappointing. Quite possibly the smallest toilet in all of Brighton.

Food is alll slightly bellow average, staff are nice, atmosphere is cool. Eating in there makes me feel like the kids from the secret garden, that illusion is broken quickly when a bill for £15 for eggs on toast comes.

I ate here at the weekend, and it was really lovely. The food was SUPERB - well presented and very filling. I had the Garden breakfast with salmon - I will be recreating this at home - and my niece had the avocado on toast with cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. The service was very good - polite, smiley and very welcoming. I loved that when we sat down at a table, a member of staff turned on the heater. The atmosphere was intimate, and the interaction with some of the other customers was fantastic. I absolutely loved the decor and the plants, and the very cool playlist was a bonus. I will definitely visit again when the weather gets warmer.

Went in start of New Year - food lovely but portions shrunk - nearly £6 for a tiny bit of cheesecake -! - last year the slice was double the size!!

I wanted to leave a review to express my appreciation of the consistency of the quality of the hot drinks made here- every coffee, matcha, hot chocolate etc I’ve ever had here has been beautiful 💜 I love this cafe’s selections of seasonal drinks- they’re stunning and it’s so nice to see so many creative options which offer something exciting and different to other places. My favourite to date is the blueberry latte, garnished with freeze dried raspberries! Closely followed by the spiced pear matcha ☺️ Great selection of cold drinks too and nice quiches. The ambience and decor of the many, many plants is gorgeous and the staff are friendly. This place is my go to when in town! ☕️💜✨

Since my hotel room was right above the cafe, I was there x times. The coffee is excellent and my salmon sandwich was top. The pastries are also great. The service is also super friendly. Absolutely recommended.

Super cool atmosphere, love all the plants and so many beautiful looking salads as well as other options. The cakes were amazing aswell, the ones we had were super tasty! Staff were really friendly and the cafe was in a great location right in the heart of the Brighton Laines!

Really nice cafe with great guiches, really friendly staff. Agree with other reviewer that it can feel a bit cramped with alle the plants & little hallways & steps, but I guess that is at the same time also the charm of the place.

Lovely cafe full of plants, character and cake! I had 2 very nice lattes, a spiced pear and a lavender one. Both were delicious, though the lavender was definitely the best of them, not too strong but you could actually taste the lavender (beats most I’ve had before!). For food I enjoyed a salad, hearty and wholesome it was very nice indeed, balanced out with a delicious carrot cake. The choices of cakes and drinks are pretty much endless, which is great, but a little overwhelming when trying to pick something else to order. Same goes for the plants, making the place, though buzzing, feel a little cramped. That being said, the garden is gorgeous and would be incredible in the summer. The staff were nice and service was decently fast, a great achievement given how utterly busy it was! Thanks so much, I had a lovely time!

Beautiful café with lots of vegan options. I had a peanut butter pretzel cupcake and an iced chai latte which were both amazing and reasonably priced. It can get a bit humid in the back seating area with all the plants though.

Ordered garden breakfast and a soft drink. On plus it was served super fast and sourdough bread was great. On the other hand, most of the ingredients on the plate were cold so I assume those might be prepared beforehand and assembled once ordered, a bit disappointing experience for this price. Nice interior, but might feel a bit cramped and overwhelming, if you prefer open spaces.

Wow. This is a beautiful venue and they've covered it with plants which, personal opinion, makes it even better. The staff are lovely and the food was amazing. I had the pancakes because I fancied it, thinking it would be a simple pancake stack but they were perfectly fluffy and had the perfect mix of crispy exterior and fluffy interior. I was looking at the other dishes brought out to diners and each one was a work of art. If you're debating going; just go.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Garden Cafe for the past two years, and it used to be one of my favorite places in Brighton. I would often come here and never had any issues until today’s experience left me feeling extremely disappointed. During today’s visit, my 10-month-old baby accidentally kicked the table, causing everything on it to fall. Unfortunately, one plate, two cups, and a pot of tea were broken. Accidents happen, especially with small children, but I was shocked when the owner charged me £25 for the damage. While I understand that broken items have a cost, I would have expected a bit more understanding, especially given how frequently I’ve supported this place over the years. As a business owner myself, I believe there’s value in maintaining good relationships with loyal customers, and this incident has left a sour taste. Because of how the situation was handled, I will not be returning to Garden Cafe. It’s sad to say goodbye to a place I once loved, but today’s experience changed that for me.

Thought I’d try this place after the reviews, experience was ok, nothing special. You have to get up to the till to order. The iced lattes we ordered were average. The beer wasn’t cold enough, would be nice if the glasses were chilled. It’s a nice atmosphere with lots of plants around

One of the most beautiful cafes I’ve ever been to! I’ve always walked past this place but never been in and I regret not visiting sooner! There’s a cute garden section at the back of the main cafe and more seating in their guesthouse section next door with sofas. Staff are so friendly and helpful (and were VERY patient when we were being indecisive). We ordered the salmon sandwich to share as we weren’t too hungry and they were huge and so filling. Very generous with the sandwich fillings and beautifully presented too. There’s also lots of fresh daily quiches and cakes to choose from the counter. I’d definitely recommend popping in here for a light lunch and I’ll be back to try drinks and the brunch!

This is my third time coming to the cafe and every time I’m here I just don’t want to leave. The atmosphere is amazing. The food is delicious. I had the salmon and halloumi on avocado and it was divine. The coffee cake is to die for. Whenever you’re in Brighton get down there. Shout out to the Esin and Riley for their amazing service

Needed to make a slight change of plan and ended up in front of this little gem of a cafe. Started with a coffee and a baby feed and ended up with a full on brunch. Pancakes and poached eggs were amazing and such a tranquil yet buzzing environment with lovely and friendly staff. Too notch!

I went here for breakfast and had avocado in toast and a decaf cappuccino. Both were delicious. The avo toast was different to how I normally have it, and I loved that. It was nice that they were doing something a bit different. I love the organic garden feel of the place with so many plants hanging above you. I would highly recommend and would go again.

Such a lovely cafe - really delicious food/cakes and a great aesthetic too. Highly recommend trying the quiches. And one of the best espresso martinis I’ve had (from someone who makes a lot at home!) Very friendly service too. Love this place 🌱

Beautiful cafe serving delicious food. Despite visiting on a busy Sunday lunchtime, staff were attentive and friendly- helping us find a table and offering recommendations from the menu. Our food came quickly- it was delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. We stayed on for coffee- perfect flat white and amazing cakes... spoiled for choice. Will absolutely be making return visits.

The venue is beautifully decorated but the staff were frosty and the beverages were average at best. Didn’t make for a great experience. First time in a while I haven’t bothered to finish my drink.
