This is the most accurate to a greasy spoon cafe I have been in. Friendly staff, simple but delicious fry-ups, locals popping in and being called by their first names. Massively reasonably priced as well!!

My husband & I had breakfast here for the first time and wow what a little diamond of a cafe! The breakfast was huge! All fresh and wholesome. Absolutely loved it. The staff were friendly and welcoming and it just felt like a cosy retreat piping hot coffee and a big delicious plateful. Highly recommend it ❤️

If this life is a game, and getting a fry up at a greasy spoon is a level, then Kitchen cafe is the final boss of greasy spoons. If you're into avo on toast, this isn't the place for you. If you like your barista to be lite in the wrist with a hint of arrogance and snobbery, this place isn’t for you. If you want black pud, service with a smile, and red sauce bottles in the shape of a tomato, come here for the best fry up you’ll likely have that wont break the bank. Solid 5/5

Nice little cafe. Really decent breakfast. A bit tight access for a pram, I guess completely inaccessible if you're in a wheelchair, and no highchairs, so not not most tiny-person friendly. Really good food, really friendly staff.

Amazing breakfast and service. And a great cup of builder's tea. Sausages were tops - understand they come from a local butcher. The guy who works on Mondays is a great asset to the cafe. Great to chat to. Will most definitely visit when we're in Brighton again.

Spending a weekend in Brighton and we needed sustenance before wandering around, I searched for the best cafe in Brighton and this little gem came up. The local paper ran a people's vote in cafe's and this was the winner, and quite rightly, a nice greeting, clean premises, great food and very cheap. We liked it so much we came back the following day ☺️

The kitchen cafe is just that, with well spaced seating, and a large street window to people gaze at. The breakfast for £7.00, was suitable to fill a on the slim side lady like myself, which I must admit I wiped the plate with the remnants of my toast, and enjoyed every bite.

This place is for you if you’re looking for Brighton’s most scarce and mediocre breakfast, with a background sound of vinegar and smell of chit-chat radio (synesthesia intended). Enjoy, but who knows, perhaps things change with the new year!

Good honest home cooked food, good quality, the sausages are great quality which was a nice surprise. Roast dinners are great, all around £9, the pork chop is particularly amazing, great quality and tasty gravy served with roast spuds and a choice of 2 of 4 veg. The pies are homemade and great quality. It's always busy here but the service is fast and friendly

Average food, didn't understand why the place is 4.8 ☆ and as a first timer coming to Kitchen Cafe, I thought I'd give it a try. Place was busy, no seats available so waited for a few mins and I got a seat. I came on a Friday early afternoon. I ordered set 4 which the set had 1 sausage, 1 burger patty, mushrooms, beans, 1 tomato and 1 egg without the toasts and a coffee. It cost me £9.30. I had to go up and ask for my coffee to be made mid-eating my breakfast and when I did, I didn't even finish the whole cup, I can just taste boiled water more than the coffee. Overall stay if I could've stayed longer was 19mins. Atmosphere was quiet although it is a small cafe.

Excellent value for money and great selection on offer. Really enjoyed our breakfast at this little gem in Brighton.

A must if you’re visiting Brighton and hungry for a proper fry up. Whatever you need for your perfect fry up, they’ll do it for ya. One thing I have to mention is their baked beans; I’ve had a lot of baked beans in my life, and I can confidently say that this place has THE BEST beans I’ve ever tasted. Say no more.

This cafe has been around for a long time. I just loved the set breakfast idea. No.8: vegetarian breakfast was extremely good & highly recommended. The rest of my party had No.2: full english which looked amazing too.

Great home cooked food, I have been coming here since 1984 and have never had a bad meal. From a fry up to a roast dinner and dessert, everything is always top notch, the prices are very reasonable, the service is warm and inviting. Top marks to Neil the chef and his great staff.

If you want a decent traditional breakfast then this is the place in Brighton. Great choice of set breakfasts that whilst well priced don't compromise on ingredients. This isn't poshed up brunch you get around the city center it's solid traditional grub with friendly staff and a firm favourite.

A great little cafe, proper old school and what I would call a builders cafe. Definitely not the usual pretentious Brighton cafe with their avocado on toast or home made beans. Very reasonably priced and will be my go to cafe whenever I’m after a breakfast in Brighton.

Clean fast, and one of the nicest (not too big), non-greasy cooked breakfasts I had, served with builders tea in a quaint setting. I can wait to go back and have more!

So after years of coming to Brighton at the weekends and not being able to come here, finally I am here during the week and have just been for a bit of breakfast, best scrambled egg on toast ever and the staff re friendly helpful and accommodating, will be going back tomorrow for more. I thoroughly recommend this popular, busy cafe Breakfasts are delicious, available all day (Until the cafe closes at 2pm) and excellent value for money. There are a range of lunch dishes, with homemade pies and roasts served with a choice of vegitables. Traditional desserts include crumbles, jam rolly-polly and bread and butter pudding The food is of excellent quality andvery reasonably priced while the atmosphere is chatty and welcoming - a home away from home for the many regulars

Lovely place, friendly staff, very good quality food and ingredients. I had an excellent fry up and cup of tea for less than a tenner - unheard of in Brighton. Atmosphere is a proper cafe, not some trendy half a fake (popular in Brighton). Really good place, I was there 90 min, read paper, others were chatting. Only downside - it doesn’t open Sundays.

The breakfasts are good here but the right lunch is something else - the roast potatoes are the best I have ever had and I don't know how they are so good. I love the pies cottage (the best you will ever have), shepherds , sausage and onion, steak and kidney, bacon pudding (I had never had it before), all amazing. Price is great too

Lovely little cafe tucked away behind the main streets. Staff here were very accommodating and friendly! The food was excellent and was not overpriced. I had a lovely breakfast with a few friends after a night out in the town centre. Nice, relaxed and calming clientele. Would definitely recommend!!

Love this little cafe, good old fashioned proper cafe, a gem to find in the middle of posher high priced breakfasts in the area, if you want just a normal friendly cafe with great food.

I popped into the Kitchen Cafe last week for the first time since lockdown. I’m happy to report that their standards are just as high, the breakfast absolutely delicious and still very reasonably priced. The service was first rate too, and as always the cleanliness was exemplary. In addition to freshly prepared and outstanding traditional English breakfast, they also serve lunches with daily specials. I would highly recommend the Kitchen Cafe to locals and any visitors to the city as it is very conveniently situated just a short walk down from the station. The ideal start to a day in sunny Brighton.

Great place for all day breakfast

We stopped by the cafe looking for a good, proper English cafe breakfast somewhere up in the lanes for a decent price. This cafe was just that, proper home-cooked food and lovely, quick service for amazing value. Food was lovely and the menu had a brilliant variety of set breakfasts, options to have other cafe-style lunches and the option to substitute items out of set breakfast and choose your own. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good cafe breakfast in a heartbeat. Thank you to all at Kitchen Cafe, on behalf of myself and my friends.

Best place to go value for money foods all good and nice and peaceful

The Kitchen Cafe is a favourite of mine. It's somewhere to go when you're looking for a really decent, home cooked type meal. Tasty, traditional English fare prepared with care. Home made Steak and Kidney Pie, Lamb Stew, Roasts etc. and of course a full range of cooked breakfasts. Very friendly, good value and a convenient location. I'm a regular, what more can I say ?

I came here last week for a breakfast with a friend. We had tea, fresh juice and a full english breakfast. It was amazing value, efficient service and a nice friendly atmosphere.

My husband and I enjoyed a perfect English breakfast here! He is from England but lives in the States, and was craving a full English breakfast. Full of locals and handily situated at the bottom end of Trafalgar St for North Laine/St Peter's church . Probably won't appeal to uber hipster neo urban vegan,this is a traditional cafe owned by the same family for years.Food freshly cooked to order
