The best restaurants serving British food in North West

First visit - loved it. Sunday lunch beautifully presented and delicious. Great atmosphere - although the music was a bit intrusive .A family with wailing child arrived about three quarters of the way though our meal -thankfully seated at the other end of the restaurant. While it didn't spoil our experience - a gentle observation: If one is spending Michelin star prices one does not want badly behaved children to spoil the experience.

The superb food was to cater for my Dads 90th birthday party. This is the second time we have used Odessa and highly recommend it to everyone. People commented on the excellent food and there was plenty for all. All I can say is the service is excellent and will certainly be using Odessa again. Also very pleasant and helpful staff. Five stars are really earned.

I knew we had to go in once we saw it, even though it wasn't the warmest of days. Cute little ice cream parlour with seats in the window overlooking the street. The guy behind the counter was very friendly. I had a tub and my husband had a cone, the caramel and the rum and raisin respectively. Portions were huge and very tasty. A larger group came in after us and the server was polite, warm and very accomodating with them. We really enjoyed it.

Travelling across to the Lake District we were looking for somewhere to eat relatively near the A66 that welcomed families and dogs. We happened to find the Three Greyhounds on line and were really pleased we did. It’s a lovely warm, welcoming pub with fantastic food. Our kids loved the pizzas and we had sausages and mash & the steak pie. The portion size was just right and the meals were delicious. We’d definitely recommend a visit!

Good size and thickness of fish. Chips were nicely cooked and still soft. Not the cheapest but definitely one of the best in the area. Definitely worth the extra cost for size and quality. Usually cut the fish in half and get two meals out of it with a round of bread and mushy peas.

Excellent food and the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The portions were large compaired to many other establishments serving breakfast, and were cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend Dawn's Tearooms to anybody requiring a hearty breakfast.

Brilliant little cafe....great friendly service....good food.....

Visited last week. Ordered our food and hot drinks. 10 mins into our meals we still had not received our drinks. Politely reminded them. Staff member manner and face quite unfriendly, eventually came but not as requested. Staff member Unapologetic and rude manner. Will not be visiting again. Food was good but Customer service by this front of house staff member was very poor.

I’m not one for writing reviews, but I have to say this is by far the best Chinese food in Manchester never mind Heywood. Fresh and tasty Good Portions On time Value for money There is not another Chinese and English takeaways in the area that can compete.

Stood at bar money in hand , ignored as other people obviously locals were served and laughed and joked with .gave up and walked out we have recently moved to the area and go out every night.plenty of other places to go will spend my money somewhere else .thank god for wether spoons !!

We pre booked 3 afternoon teas, 1-gf 1- egg free 1- normal, the huge bowl of-hot soup was so tasty , the three platters arrived, beautifully presented and full of the most delicious goodies, sandwiches, cakes and scones, pots of tea - all suited to our dietary requirements, we cudnt eat everything but wer given boxes to take our goodies home. For a small local cafe they offer a wonderful service, I’ve had afternoon tea in many well established places but can truly say that this is the best by far. Tasty food in a clean and welcoming cafe, staff go out of their way to accommodate you and it’s very much appreciated. I would highly recommend you go- enjoy .
