So it’s been very nicely redecorated recently and I appreciate the revamp of surroundings. Sadly the food doesn’t match the decor. We went Monday lunchtime so it was quiet and had brisket beef sandwich and fish finger sandwich both with chips. While both were edible they were not great and frankly I would expect better. Churchtown has several eateries and if you are to maintain your market share I suggest you improve what leaves the kitchen before your customers abandon the food here. It’s a great pub in the heart of the village but I’m sure would like repeat patrons

This is a very happy place, you can feel the happy atmosphere when you walk in. I did tell tell the lady manager what a great place it is to come for breakfast. She is clearly a great manager. My husband and I live in Lymm. That's some distance for breakfast, lunch, or evening meal. But it's worth the travel. Thank you team Micker Brook 🙏🥳

Food and staff good. Pub was overcrowded with extra chairs and tables meaning people couldn’t get into the seats of the empty tables as they were blocked by the people sitting behind them. Wetherspoons Southport looked dirty and unkempt, all 3 coffee machines didn’t work. The staff were polite efficient and pleasant and keep the place ticking over. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t go again. The owner makes lots of money and is treating his customers poorly . Outside the tables area was littered with stub ends of cigs why is he allowed to keep tables on the grass verges now covid is over?

Went with family on Friday evening 6pm 4 weeks ago. As the menu says you can have 3 pieces of meat.my Son who is an adult just asked for Turkey and expected 3 slices only to be given half a slice of one piece of turkey. When I challenged this the girl said it was one slice. I was disgusted as no carvery in any resturants locally gives half a slice of turkey so feel it was a very poor value and experience and could well explain why their carpark was very empty.

Called for tea and had the midweek special costing only £9.99. Great choice on the menu and I had the liver and onion gravy with three veg and chips. It was cooked pink as requested and really tasty. My wife had the fish and chips and also enjoyed. Portion size is excellent. The pub is cosy with great views

I've been here a couple of times recently and have been very pleasantly surprised. The staff are lovely and took good care to ensure the order was right. The chicken salad was super- fresh and tasty! If they had coca cola rather then Pepsi it would be even better 😉

We booked the function room here for our wedding reception. All our guests commented on how excellent the food and service was. 47 people were served a 3 course meal where food was delicious, hot and served promptly. Gaynor, Gary and staff could not do enough for us. They made our wedding meal for our families absolutely perfect. As one guest commented "A 10 out of 10 wedding!". Recommended with 5 stars. Wonderful!

Hard to know what to say! I didn't dislike it, nor was it particularly good. It certainly isn't a hotel. I'm not even sure its an Inn. More a pub with rooms really. The room was OK, but tired and in need of a little TLC. The mattress (King on two single beds) was pretty hollow on one side so probably needs replacing. On evening one I'd prebooked the evening meal online which incurred a £10 booking charge. I'd assumed this would be deducted from the bill but it wasn't. If you go here, book by phone or on the night - don't do it online. That same evening my partner wanted an Irish coffee. The young man behind the bar said he didn't know how to do it and couldn't float cream. In any case he said he had just cleaned down the coffee machine for the day, so it couldn't be used. It was just 8pm!! Evening 2 was even more odd. Just the one man (manager I guess) was doing everything. As a result queues formed with one couple waiting over 30 minutes just to check in! A few others gave up waiting to order drinks etc and simply left. When we went up to our room, we found there was no hot water - no heating either. The boiler had broken down, so it was a case of boiling kettles to wash. I went down to let him know then overheard him saying to someone else that guests were complaining there was no hot water but he was too busy to be able to do anything about it. It was still out of use in the morning so again kettles and no shower or bath. They gave everyone a complimentary breakfast by way of a sorry. It was back in order for that evening. There's a board in the dining area showing the local produce that they use. There was a local vodka which I thought I might try - none available. Best take that board down then eh? As I say - this place has a whole lot going for it. It just doesn't get close to meeting it's potential, which is a real shame.
