Great service by Leah J very prompt and polite, food was lovely and hot. Will definitely be back again.

Stopped for breakfast on the way up to the Lake District. Food was perfectly cooked and tasted really good. Decent cup of coffee to go with it too - no complaints here! Staff very helpful and nothing too much trouble. One of the best harvesters we've been to!

As usual very friend service and excellent food at a good price, the only complaint is the state of the toilets as they were not very clean on our visit and are in need of a revamp.

Leah Crompton was our server. She went above and beyond for us. Her manner was lovely and friendly so polite. Very patient with us and helpful going through a few questions we had. She made it enjoyable thank you

We visited here 2 evenings during our stay at the Premier Inn. Food was really nice. Staff were nice however Chloe really stood out. We were served by Chloe on the first evening and she was lovely, she is a natural waiting on tables. When we complimented her she explained that she usually works at the bar - she is completely wasted at the bar, she is by far the best table server in the place and she should be recognised for that.

Great service from katie. Nothing was too much trouble Hot delicious food can't wait to come back with my family I recommend the flatbread.

The breakfast was ok nothing spectacular but good value for money, Libby our waitress was excellent nothing was to much trouble even though she was multiple tasking and the restaurant was very busy, they need more staff as the girl never stopped,

Food is pricey for what you get the portion sizes don't warrant the cost of the meal. £11.49 for a small chicken breast, peas and a small portion of chips that had a lot of scraps with a very small amount of gravy which barely coated anything on the plate. I had belly pork with mash, peas and gravy which was very tasty. Leah J who served us however was very pleasant and welcoming and spent some time talking with us.

Jack, Lewis and James (chefs) absolutely nailed the food tonight, the steak was cooked beautifully, the ribs fell off the bone and even the eggs were perfect, the kids burger was juicy and not cremated like most places seem to cook them. Leah c the young waitress was kind, courtious and couldn't do enough for us. A pleasant experience all around made all the better by amazing staff.

This was a great experience, me and the lads came out for some food and drinks and there was one lady that stood out from them all she was really helpful and her customers service was absolutely incredible! I only have positive things to say about my visit on the 8th of June before the pink concert, the staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble, even though it was incredibly busy. The food was prefect Served within a timely manner, I was expecting to wait with the restaurant being so busy. .

We booked a table on a Saturday at 17:00 for food . There was a concert on a Bolton stadium and the pub was rammed . The food was ok . Staff very friendly and helpful. The security staff were a joke , men couldn’t get in the men’s toilet because loads of women had decided the queue was to big for the lady’s . There were young boys ( children ) that didn’t want to go because of being embarrassed by the women in there . Came bank holiday weekend its was busy for a Saturday night which is expected. Dont normally come bank holidays but the weather was nice. Lots of new staff on shift which was explained by the manager. Not sure of our waitress name but very nice and friendly (new staff) Food very nice and staff friendly and run off there feet, service was good, as new staff struggled other team members help them out while still being busy themselves. Great team work well done to you all. Covid restrictions good to, yes you can't get the salad yourself but you can go up and have a look and tell your waitress what you would like. Terrible experience at the Harvester. Arrived at 1820. Wasn't given first course until 1918 . Had to ask to place an order as we were forgotten about . They apologised amd took pur order. Food was barley average .My burger was dry and had clearly been sitting for a while prior to serving to me . My partners Bbq chicken stack has no bbq sauce with it and chicken was dry and barely eaten . Complete waste of 45 pounds . Will never return. Tables sitting dirty for 30 before being cleaned . Shocked and extremely concerned considering we are in the middle of a pandemic. Staff friendly but clearly overrun .

Waited 40 minutes to get waitress to take our drinks order, another 20 minutes for the drinks to come. And then another 40 minutes for food, 20 minutes for a dessert menu. Extremely slow service considering it was pretty empty today. When the food was finally brought out there was no cutlery or condiments- again 10 minute wait for these so by the time they arrived we had eaten most of our meal. We was at the restaurant for 2 and a half hours and all we got was a main meal and dessert. I assumed the salad bar wasn’t operational as it’s lockdown and we didn’t get offered any, but then noticed all the tables around us get offered to go over to the salad bar- not too bothered about salad but would have been nice to be asked at least. When the food came it was very nice, hot and fresh and the desserts were lovely. The waiting staff were also really friendly so this is why I’m giving a 3 star, will also make allowances for the fact it’s been lockdown and maybe waiting staff are getting back into the swing of things. Would come to the restaurant again maybe in a few months when things are hopefully back to normal and staff are up on their feet again.

Went as a business trip and a staff member went above and beyond to provide service.I went earlier in the day to request something for the evening and their Deputy Manager, Sam, had been working on it so everything worked out in the end. Serious above and beyond from him there as the request was a bit of a difficult thing to ask.Also the chips are very nice, would recommend!

I’ve frequented this Harvester many times but only once since the Covid outbreak. Myself and a friend took advantage of the Eat Out To Help Out scheme and booked a table. The experience was pretty much perfect from start to finish. We were served by a gentleman called James who couldn’t do enough for us, checking regularly but not too regularly whether there was anything else we needed. The restaurant has a hugely reduced number of tables, a one way system, the salad cart is assisted service rather than help yourself. All these things are in compliance with government regulation on social distancing and limiting potential transmission. I’ve seen the rules flaunted in other establishments but here they are firm but fair when it comes to sticking to the rules. The food was spot on, a new menu combining their usual classics with some tasty new treats. If you’re like myself and want to have a dining out experience but still feel you’re in safe hands and at reduced risk from the pandemic, you can’t go wrong here. However if you are planning on going Monday-Wednesday whilst the discount scheme is in place you should absolutely make a booking, and if you are flexible with when you can go out perhaps call during the day and ask when is a quieter time for you to go in. It was quiet when we arrived at 6pm but was packed by the time we left. A great meal and safe dining experience amongst the chaos we have seen elsewhere.

Served my 6 year old little girl a burger on a mouldy bun, manager was apologetic enough and covered price of the meal but we then had to wait another 40minutes to have the table cleared and get the dessert, didn’t really want to stay after the mouldy burger but my daughter is young and wanted the ice cream! Won’t be going here again, one in Buckshaw is much better.

Very slow service - waited at the front door for 15 minutes after having booked a table. Then waited over an hour for 2 starters, wasn’t offered the salad bar and waited a long time for refills on the drinks.Understandably the restaurant was very busy on a Monday lunch time due to the eat out to help out scheme. However no apology was given for our wait and to wait over an hour for 2 starters (nachos and halloumi) to be quite frank is ridiculous. Mains were very good - but again shockingly slow.Waitress wasn’t very attentive which was quite disappointing. Overall in the restaurant for over 2 and a half hours - ok as long as you’re not in a rush!

We had tea yesterday (17.7.20), the staff were all very pleasent and friendly. Considering all the changes and new adaptions ebryone has to now adhere to, this is very well managed and you still feel relaxed and can enjoy the experience. The member of staff (Morgan) who took us to the salad bar was very helpful, clean and smiling. When the food came for tea it was hot, fresh and tasted very nice. We was nervous due to the new regulations, but we needed not to be it was a great experience and felt like a real treat when you have not been out for months. Well done to team Harvester Horwich

I went out for a family meal there were 6 of us and we were just sat waiting to be served it must of been about 25-30 minutes before we could even order any food and the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. My gran is coeliac but there was no gluten free menu we were told we’d have to look on the app to see which dishes were gluten free which isn’t much help, so she ordered the simply chicken but was told there’s no jacket potatoes as they’d ran out of potatoes so she just wanted some plain white rice which they also didn’t have so out came this massive folder with all the allergens which isn’t helpful as it literally tells you every single ingredient in every single dish the restaurant serves and it isn’t the clearest even the waiter was getting confused, it would be a lot easier just to have a gluten free menu it would honestly save you a lot of bother and stress. My grandparents ordered some Chardonnay which they didn’t have, 3 of us ordered a refillable drink but had to wait about 20 minutes until they came over to give us our glasses to get the drinks it would of been better if they had the glasses available at the refillable station, I went for Pepsi max and they didn’t have that either all that was coming out was clear liquid so they clearly ran out of the syrup. The salad bar wasn’t the greatest most of the stuff didn’t get refilled so there was limited bits we could get we asked if they had any more of the pasta from the salad bar which they didn’t as they are “going through a menu change.” after this experience I wouldn’t be coming back as it’s not very welcoming and we obviously didn’t have the greatest of experiences either I personally wouldn’t recommend, go to M&S or Asda for a meal deal it’ll be cheaper and it’ll be better value for money too.

The bread roll was rock hard, stale the salard bar empty and the dozen scampi was 10 pieces. Service was poor the place claims to serve until 10pm but starts to close at 8-30... eat somewhere else the place is bad

The food is nice, we come here a lot for birthday meals. However the service is terrible! The waiter we had last time was young and really nice but we didn’t get our drinks till 25 minutes after ordering them and the food tends to come a bit late. There was also one time when we booked a reservation (we always do as there’s six of us, online) and came 15/20 minutes early. It wasn’t till about 15 minutes after the booking until we were seated. THE TABLE IS MEANT TO BE PREPARED!! The excuse given by the manager was that “I’ve never seen anyone eat so slowly”. So in a nutshell, slow service, slow eating but on the plus side, they have bottomless pepsi soft drinks that can be flavoured!

After being seated had to get the waitress attention after approx 15-20 mins as nobody had seen us, no apology for the wait. After our meal once again we sat for about 15 minutes waiting for our bill once again we had to go looking for a waitress. Food was ok not great, overall quite dissapointed with the service.

Visited for breakfast, been previously and usually good. On this occasion breakfast items on my plate were mostly cold or luke warm. Bacon was fatty, and eggs were over done. Not many staff serving (saw 2) perhaps our food had stood a while as the restaurant was busy. I did tell the waitress and she passed on my comment to the chef. Very disappointed.

We recently visited for Breakfast with Santa. The experience was really haphazard. Food was either wrong or missing from what we ordered, service was really unenthusiastic, Santa had a massive tear in his trousers and it all felt a bit rushed. Can't say we'll be going back any time soon.

Arranged to meet some friends at this location as it was a "half-way" meet for us all. Met up and had a coffee an the welcome and friendliness of the staff made us look at the menu and encouraged us to stay for lunch.Would you believe, three different menus and you could "mix & match" from any of them. All four adults chose varying meals of the different menus, which were served without delay. Without exception the meals were excellent and well prepared served by attentive staff. All four adult meals were enjoyable and my "Cowboy Burger" in particular was superb.All in all, a very good choice to dine at the Harvester and hats off to the staff who made the visit even more enjoyable. Yes, part of a "chain", but don't let that put you off, when next in the area, give it a go - you won't be disappointed.

Visited on the 12th November for a main meal lunch for a family of three. Great salad bar followed by the same experience of food in the main meals.

Assistant Manager Sam was an absolute delight and even sorted me out with a new steak when my other one was little over my liking. Dont get it twisted though because everything on the plate was absolutely lovely and Sam went the extra mile to make sure that I didn't feel bad for requesting a new steak. I only wanted a new steak and they brought me an entire new plate with everything even the beef drippings sauce!!! Madness!!! Amazing place shout out to Sam the amazing front of house man.

Came yesterday for breakfast as we’ve always enjoyed it here before. Granted before we have always come during the week but we were working locally so decided to call in. We were shown to our table quite quickly but then it was ages till someone came to take our order (We had to go and find a member of staff) and even offer us drinks!We ordered two classic breakfasts which is what we usually have and they were absolutely terrible. Raw (ish) bacon that tasted like it had been cooked on a bbq. Same with the sausage. Really snotty undercooked eggs and cold beans. We usually have crumpets rather than toast but they didn’t have any of them. The only thing that was nice were the drinks. We told the staff member when paying and she went into the kitchen for further assistance but didn’t get it. Wasn’t her fault and she apologised many times but the service and food were shocking and even though we paid th me full amount we won’t be back.

It’s a shame because we’ve visited this branch of Harvester several times of the past few months and it’s usually been great, but it was quite the opposite on this occasion.

We had a lazy Sunday morning breakfast. Welcomed by Manager. Efficient polite server. Enjoyed the food. Lots of hot tea. The only downer was the foul mouthed youths sat behind us with their f..in and jeffing. Hopefully the staff will intervene in the future

The food, cooked to perfection, the service, prompt, and the extent,selection, and freshness at the salad bar could not be faulted by either of us, this has got to be one of the most efficient Harvesters we have been to in a long time, and I applaud the dedication of the staff for being so committed and the added bonus was it was very close to where we were staying at the Premier Inn at Bolton

Hi my partner and I visited here to wait for my parents coach from Southampton cruises and there was a match on at home so we booked a table for 130pm. We arrived at the car park and were told we had to pay 5 pound. The staff at the harvester gave us our receipt and ensured we were given refunds for parking. We ordered service was excellent food was excellent. Then we were told my parents coach was delayed staff ensured we could keep our table and allowed my sister and family to join us too when they arrived to surprise my parents. They ensured we had enough ice creams and drinks and even let us at a table to sit and play uno and said hope the coach wont be much longer for u. On what was a long day it was enjoyable and even the bouncers were lovely. My car was also able to remain on the carpark for as long as needed. Excellent service above n beyond. Best wishes to everyone there xx
