What a great find... lovely welcome, very friendly and quick service. Great breakfast choices... gluten free no problem...loads of variety, well presented and served with a smile. Nice place to sit with plenty of space between tables...not packed in like some other cafes. Good value... and it also is fully licensed. Fantastic family business.

Another fantastic meal at Riva. The fish specials are a must although I’m always drawn to the fish and chips , never fails -so fresh . The new wine list has some excellent choices . Thank you to Aneta and Lindsey for looking after us as usual, I think probably now the only independent restaurant in the area. Will be back soon.

My partner and I stopped off at this cafe for lunch when arriving in Southport. On the car journey there, I looked at places for lunch and Hideaway came up in the recommendations. We both ordered a panini - the mozarella, sweet chill and chicken for me and a tuna mayo one for my partner. The paninis were a generous size and came with salad on the side. We both ordered a drink with this - soft drink and an americano. The total came to just over £20 which we didn’t think was too bad considering the size and quality of the food. I would certainly recommend this place for a lunch stop but also if you’re looking for something more fulfilling as the menu offers a rang of larger meals including a breakfast menu.

Visited after seeing the positive reviews. Firstly the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful and I would give them 5*. Unfortunately the food did not reach our expectations. I admit I am fussy about my coffee and prefer a true barista coffee, but this coffee was not good. Too weak and little flavour. I did ask for and extra shot which was added at no extra charge, so that was good service, but unfortunately didn't improve the flavour. The food was 'ok', but nothing special and I had expected better after reading previous reviews. We ordered the flatbread, which was so thin, i would call it a wrap, however the topping was nice. The soup was very thin and over seasoned with salt. I had a small cooked breakfast and asked for poached egg, not fried as per menu, this was done with no quibble. However the bacon was hard and overcooked. I wasn't keen on the sausage, which was more like a factory sausage, than a butchers sausage. Maybe we just visited on a bad day. I hope so. I would say give it a go and see what you think, but sadly not for me.

We came across this hidden little gem by having a quick google as to where to eat when in Grasmere for the evening. Wow! Beautiful food, the drinks/cocktails were outstanding! 100% will be returning

This is such a great place to go after a hike or just a treat. We have been many times and this is the best ice-cream in the Lakes. Staying in Hawkshead we knew there was a shop near by for our ice cream needs. The ice cream shop was the only reason why we stayed in Hawkshead this time . The first time we went on this trip there was a queue but the young lad handled it very well. The ice cream is always so delicious and well worth the price( it's a great price to what you get in London) and you get a massive scoop. Always friendly staff and very clean and hygienic shop. Awesome ice cream even when it's raining

We stopped off today late afternoon for tea and cake. We were talked through the choices......oh my word I had the best cake I've ever eaten. The pumpkin cupcake, it was sooooo good I wanted more! My partner had the ginger cake and she thoroughly enjoyed hers! We were able to takeaway cakes to and was advised that pumpkin cupcake would be available until mid November. So we are all ready planning another visit! Thank you for today!

Visited half a dozen times in the last year. The owners know how to run a village pub/restaurant. Tastefully quirky interior design. Excellent but down to earth wine menu. Top quality cask ales. Dog friendly. Very convivial atmosphere and a range of seasonal events. But top of the shop s the quality of the food. Last night we had the best cheese soufflé ever. Then the tastiest lamb, perfectly cooked. It melted with tenderness and a happy organic rearing. The steak was sublime. We’ve covered many signature dishes in recent months and always come away delighted. Prices are reasonable for the quality delivered. Well done to the whole team. A must visit.

The best place to eat breakfast, dinner or tea in Burscough and surrounding areas. We eat at Eden regularly and the food is always spot on with friendly and prompt service, and great drinks at fair prices. The outdoor seating is lovely too on a sunny day. Sunday roasts are clearly done to order and the best I’ve had in a restaurant. Lots of vegetarian choices too.

Never ever would I have expected to find a place like this in New Brighton - it’s truly excellent and it’s certainly what the area needs. Bistro 115 has a relaxed ambiance and a rather eccentric and fun interior. Staff are really lovely, very warm and friendly and fun. The food is exceptionally good and ok the dishes are gimmickly named, ie “Oh My Cod” etc, but…..oh boy - absolutely delicious, innovative, beautifully cooked and reasonably priced, desserts are divine- - it’s a smashing place and when I am next up north, it’s a dead cert that I’ll be lunching/dining here. Highly recommended.

After numerous visits over the years my experience of this little cafe has always been a pleasure to eat in. Great breakfast always but im sorry to say that over time i feel the standards of cleanliness in the toilet has gone downhill. I would hate to stop visiting this little gem but would welcome the toilets being up to a higher standard of hygiene .
