Such a stunning little shop, was surprised by how I had walked past a few times and not noticed what I may have been missing. Produce is wonderful, lots of local veggies, dairy, fresh food and cooked food ready to eat. Lots of zero waste options, pretty much everything I needed. Got some great Cornish butter, hadn't found local dairy much in Manchester so that was great. The staff are really lovely and more than happy to help. I'll definitely be back, thank you!

Visited last night to have a meal with friends and also to meet my son who is at Salford Uni. Out choice was the Lowry or take a risk ... the Deli Lama. What a surprise this place was fab and all of us really enjoyed our meals.. surprised because quite frankly the food was more enjoyable than many top class restaurants we have visited across the world. It was just what we wanted a small cosy venue with great background music, fresh food cooked, homely experience. Our group chose chicken jerk, goat curry, vegan fish burger and vegan curry. The chicken jerk and curry’s came with the same rice which contained, fresh chilliest, beans etc. All tasted superb and all was eaten. Ps wine and beer were of good quality. Well done Deli Lama. We will be back next time my son is hungry!

To quote the great Dalai Lama whom this eaterie is named after: 'Home is where you feel at home and are treated well'. I think that Deli-Lama has captured the essence of this pretty well. Although the exterior is maybe a little unsassuming and the mismatching furniture might not be to everybodies tastes, I think the quirkiness adds to the charm. I wasn't really expecting much when I visited, I hadn't heard of the cafe nor had my mum who I was going for brunch with. Having recently moved to Salford and in the vicinity, we went to the first place on the radar which happened to be the Deli-Lama. Although it was a little busy when we arrived we found a spot to sit down and peruse the menu and soon pounced on an empty table more convivial to our needs. The food on offer was all breakfast/brunch but there is quite a lot of choice. The mixture of Caribbean/English fusion is wonderful and there are vegetarian/vegan options too. This goes for drinks too - there is a lot to choose from. If you want almond milk, full fat milk, red stripe or vodka - it's all there for the picking. The staff at Deli-Lama are very friendly and provided an excellent service. I myself had the Caribbean omlette and although skeptical as I'm not a huge eater of eggs I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed my late breakfast. I had a Macchiato which was perfectly brewed and there was also free tap water provided from a carafe asked for at the counter. My mum can't stop raving about this place and to be honest I was very impressed. If you are in the area, or even if you are not, I would definitley recommend paying this lovely little place a visit.

I stumbled across this place while looking forward a bit to eat during a long day at work. The place has a welcoming feeling as soon as you enter, and the gentleman cooking behind the counter was friendly, but not overly fussy. I had the jerk chicken- it was absolutely superb. The meat fell away from the bone, the jerk seasoning had just the right amount of heat, and the rice&peas; had exactly the right level of bite. Simply the best jerk chicken I've had. And it was £6. Me he pasado en mi casa Deli Lama camino tantas veces y no he pagado realmente mucho la atención. Actualmente estoy siguiendo una dieta vegetariana y me recomendó probar aquí, ya que la carta era genial para este. Me quedé impresionado.

I live very close to Deli Lama and usually drop by for a quick coffee or a delicious vegan toastie. Decided to try their vegan breakfast and hands down one of the best I've ever had! Unlike some vegan breakfasts which is usually a veggie breakfast minus all the non-vegan items, Deli Lama offers vegan alternatives to the entire thing (vegan 'eggs' included!) so it really feels like a complete breakfast. The portion is incredibly generous and yet I managed to eat the entire thing because of how lovely it was! The relaxed atmosphere is a great plus. Perfect for a sit-down meal, book reading on the couch or a get-together with friends over some nice coffee.

The Deli-Lama is one of the best cafes / restaurants that I have ever had the pleasure to eat in, within Salford. The food is exquisite, well presented and seasoned to perfection. I have also been to some of their many events where I was greeted and served like a VIP. All of the food is reasonably priced, and comes with a large helping of professional politeness combined with a large helping of customer courtesy. All in all, I would have no problem recommending this cafe / restaurant to my friends and family.

we go regularly to the Deli Lama for breakfast, brunch, burgers, xmas meals and we keep going back because the food is great and the atmosphere is lovely. They run an open mic night every month which is great fun, have different artists playing there regularly from jazz to piano evenings, solo singers and guitarists. It's the place to be on a cold evening with a lovely hot chocolate (or even a cocktail or two!) and the owners are very nice, always helpful and pleasant. If you haven't been then you should pop in, you won't be disappointed. We held a party there and it was such a nice evening with great food and the room was dressed really nice.

Just had our Xmas dinner here from their Festive menu. Just walking in, the festive table layout is simple and cute. It looks great and inviting. It was a nice touch the owners recognised us enough to offer us our usual table. Food:The starter we chose - saltfish fritters. I would turn up more regularly than I already do if these were a regular feature. Far far superior to the local equivalent at Caribbean Flavas down the road. The main dish of Jerk turkey steak and the trimmings of: rice & peas, plantain, sweet & traditional roast potatoes, parsnip mash, seasonal veg, stuffing and gravy... Can't be faulted. The spice of the Jerk meat and sweet potatoes, the sweet parsnip mash, the salty potatoes and bitter sprouts and chestnuts... Perfect balance for very mouthful. Dessert: chocolate orange tart, coconut yoghurt and berries. Simple and mouth wateringly good. All washed down with a surprisingly good white wine. A good old Red Stripe and a good ol' cuppa. Perfect evening out.

A regular haunt for me now that I try and visit at least once a month for their excellent burgers. Spotted they were doing a special Christmas menu and had to make a visit to sample it! Absolutely delicious from start to finish. A starter of Saltfish Fritters with a chilli dip. Crisp on the outside and soft and flavourful within, and a nice delicate portion size to set you up for the main event. And what a main! Deliciously spicy Jerk Turkey with all the trimmings (including roast chestnuts and parsnip mash, fantastic!). A very nice gravy and the typical hearty portion sizes I've come to enjoy from Deli Lama. Dessert of chocolate orange tart was light and rounded off the meal perfectly - not too heavy but a nice chocolate fix to finish the meal off. The Christmas tablecloths, decorations, crackers and a nice cuppa at the end are a wonderful touch and show they put just as much thought and effort into the little things as they do the menu itself. Not to mention it's a pretty good bargain at £15.95 for three courses. Every time I come here I'm greeted with a smile of recognition and a warm welcome, I feel like I'm going to a friend's place for dinner and it makes all the difference. The only thing I forgot to to was buy a bag of coffee, which gives me a great excuse to pop in on Saturday for a latte and a bacon sandwich!

Myself and my partner, popped into the deli lama today. We had both been out in Manchester last night and we wanted a very late breakfast. When we arrived we were greeted by helpful friendly staff and a cafe which exuded charm.I was instantly taken by the Saturday specials and spoilt for choice.I went for the eggs Benedict with spinach and my partner had the Caribbean scrambled eggs.I am fussy and hard to impress when it comes to an eggs Benedict, but the eggs where poached to perfection and the spinach made a very much welcomed novel addition to a classic.Ultimately, though it was my girlfriend,s meal that stood out the most. The Caribbean scrambled eggs where unlike anything I'd ever tried (yes, we are the kind of couple that swap and share meals).I am unsure, how best to describe the warming subtle chilli and curry notes. What I will say is that if you are looking for a late Saturday breakfast, in Salford, look no further than here. This little cafe and bar truly made my day and I will be back soon.

Came to Deli Llama in my lunch break. We arrived at 12:05 and my friend ordered a courgette curry with rice with herbal tea and I ordered goats cheese Panini with salad. At 12:25 our food arrived, given we only had a 30 minute lunch break and the café only had one other dine in customer, this was really slow. The other customer who came in after us was served first. The waiter brought two teas by accident, I was in the middle of chatting so didn't point out the mistake. Then another member of staff "told him off" in front of us for bringing us two teas when we had only ordered one. I told the other member of staff that I hadn't touched it and she could take the tea back if she wanted, she did and said she would drink it.If having taken so long to serve us, despite us telling them we were short on time they can't even leave a spare cup of tea it goes a long way to saying what the staff think of their customers. When the food actually arrived it was very nice, quality ingredients, tasty and well prepared. However arguing about the accidental tea, plus the waiting time meant we had to rush our lunch and couldn't enjoy it.It's a shame because the food was great once we eventually received it.Hopefully this was just a one off as the other reviews are very positive.

I was wandering the streets of Salford one winter evening and realized I was near Deli Lama. I detoured, and as soon as I shut the door behind me, the wet grey evening was banished by the atmosphere of this place.I've only ever had cake here, but with cakes like this you don't need anything else. They are home made - I did ask, but didn't need to. I will try other dishes some time, but the cakes have always got the better of me so far. There's a musical theme to the place, and there are photos of various musicians on the wall. The proprietors are welcoming and friendly. They have put together an interesting collection of furniture to give the place a relaxed character.

The welcome is warm and friendly and the food is freshly cooked and wholesome. A turkey dinner served in a huge Yorkshire Pudding with all the trimmings was wonderful, thick slices of turkey, roast and mash potatoes, sprouts and parsnips - delicious. To follow was traditional Christmas pud with very tasty vanilla cream. This restaurant does not have a drinks license so do have a small charge on corkage. Having said that it is a small price to pay for good wholesome freshly cook food. The price was unbelivable £10 for the meal not including the charge for wine
