Henry's Deli in Sefton

A nice bar. Staff very attentive. Plenty of outside seating and heaters. Pinot Grigio we had was very smooth. Worth visiting again.

We have been here before but we can’t fault the staff/owners at all. We only had a couple of drinks and had a lovely time, very attentive snd just lovely! My husband (by accident) knocked his pint all over me and to say I was looked after is an under statement, they really did, just a lovely place with a lovely clientele we will be back more often especially in the morning 🤣🤣

Just a Heads' Up for any one dropping in for a bite to eat. My wife rang on Thursday to book a table and was told bookings were not taken. We still visited on Friday about 4.00 pm. as we had a recommendation for their platters. We were surprised to see some reserved tables ???? Still no matter. Ordered a drink and asked for the Menu. The young man returned to say no menu was available and if requiring a platter one should book in advance. So please be aware of the situation.

Lovely to see this bar reopened albeit outside for now. Attentive staff and they make sure they have your details for covid contact. Look forward to going inside as well soon

My wife & a friend went to the restaurant for a Saturday afternoon catchup, on entering they where told they couldn't bring in the pram has the place wasnt big enough. When the said they would leave the pram outside the gent said 'I have regulars who come in here. They left & went else where. We live a short 5 min walk, & our friend 5 mins the other way. Any chance that we may become regulars has disappeared by bad hospitality.

Just opened post lockdown. Thrilled to see it was busy outside whilst everyone seemed to respect and comply with social distancing guidelines. Quick to serve us and obviously best to pay with card rather than cash just now . Not sure how it will be if it rains as it’s very small inside so hoping we have good weather a while yet

Great spot for local residents to walk to and have a cheeky drink and be sociable. Limited food menu which I haven’t tried but know it will be great as linked to butchers next doors. Hope I’ve persuaded them to stock cake as well.?

Fantastic friendly bar, with a local community spirit (sadly missing in most places these days!). Good food, good drinks and always someone on hand for a chat.

Visited with friends yesterday and loved it. Great vino choices and nice owner. If you are nearby then pop by and enjoy.

Good place for early evening drinks. Places to sit inside and outside. The front gets the sun in the evening. They sell really interesting beers including Southport beer. The atmosphere is small but lively. Staff are lovely. Food is available too.

Called in to Word of Mouth for breakfast with my partner. What great value for money! Great quality ingredients that were cooked while we waited. Really tasty and satisfying. I should also complement them on the efficient and friendly service. We’ll definitely be back soon. If you call in for breakfast you must try the creamed mushrooms on toast - so good!

Nice breakfast which was reasonably priced with very quick service, small place but nicely decorated and opens Friday and Saturday evening serving alcoholic drinks

we called in on the off chance and found a lovely inviting cafe with friendly staff and good coffee. We will certainly be back to sample a few of the delights on the menu

We eat here fairly regularly and have always had a really good breakfast. Cafe is very clean and has outdoor tables and chairs for fine days. Highly recommend

I recommend this small cafe/bar to sit and relax with a pint of interesting ales and a sandwich. Family run and friendly. Seating inside and outside quite sheltered.

A very pleasant interlude. We called in for coffee and left with wicker baskets. Service was impeccable and the owner was happy to have a chat.

Visited here for the first time today but it won't be the last. Great welcome and good service. It also has an interesting range of drinks on sale many of which would make great gifts.

We had a lovely evening here. It is relaxed and informal and the drinks choice is good. The staff were great, very friendly and genuine. We had the meat & cheese platter which was good value and tasty. Very nice evening.

Visited for lunch. Arrived just after 12 noon but they kindly offered us the choice of both the breakfast and lunch menus. All meals were delicious with generous portions. Will definitely come again.

Mike and Caroline are excellent hosts. Great food, wines and beers. Fantastic alfresco area at the front of the cafe bar. The pleasure pier in Southport was opened in August 1860 and it is the oldest iron pier in the country. Length 1,108 m (3,635 ft) makes it the second-longest in Great Britain, after Southend Pier. Worth a visit and a walk. Negative side. No direct route to Southport.

Genuinely one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the meat was cooked to my specification. The black pudding was so delicious I even had seconds (which is unheard of)! Thinking of setting up a breakfast club and making this a regular occurrence!

The cafe/bar was initially advertised as being open until 10pm, however on three occasions I have arrived there and it hasn't been open. The food there is really tasty, and the drinks are particularly cheap, however it certainly does lack atmosphere.

We called with our daughter,son in law and grandson on saturday and had a fantastic relaxing lunch sitting outside in the wonderful sunshine.We had just missed breakfast [12.00] but the lunch choices were very good and with some juggling two of us more or less had the breakfast which was great.The ploughmans was a feast of cheese,salad,pickles,beetroot,ham and chutney and the most delicious crusty bread and butter.The draft lager was really good as were the other drinks.The friendly service, well cooked food all add up to a place not to be missed,a gem .A pleasure to visit.

Taken her by my sister for Sunday breakfast. The sun was shining so we strolled down with the dog and sat outside, firstly a fresh bowl of water arrived for a very thirsty dog. Breakfast was amazing freshly cooked , bacon and sausage very tasty. The eggs were cooked to perfection. Service was amazing very friendly and lovely smiles from all the staff. This is a lovely hidden little gem well worth a visit . We will certainly be returning many times as my sister lives on the same road . Thank you so much

Taken here by a friend, the food was fresh and excellent so I returned twice more during the following week. ~Apart from one wonky chair, the place is newly refurbished, clean and appealing. Food is cooked fresh and the location is centrally situated with parking plentiful around the area. We went following a hospital appointment which is nearby and enjoyed a hearty breakfast cooked by the very friendly Caroline. Menu is varied and although not experienced myself, apparently comes to life of an evening with cheese and wine offers with themed events. Well past my bedtime though and twelve miles from my home. Pop in and enjoy.

Popped into Word of Mouth, as it's only around the corner from where we live. Absolutely fantastic, Mike and Caroline are the perfect hosts.The Cafe Bar has a Lovely atmosphere, small,intimate, and spotless. The food was delicious , the service excellent and to round it off the draught beers and Gin where superb..

A 10 second walk from home for a pint of great draught beer. It's a no brainer for me !!! Haven't tried the food yet but will definitely be back soon.

Newly refurbished café come bar come lovely place to eat and drink! Who new and only a stone's throw from home! Breakfast comes with tea and toast either small, large or carb free! I visited the Deli/Bar on the day it had its brand new beer pumps delivered and installed. I was lucky enough to have only the 3rd Pint ever pulled. I cam here to catch up some on e-mails and take a couple of hours out relaxing. The Deli offers a lot more than a draught Lager and a craft IPA Ale providing specialists meats and cheeses throughout the day..

Under new owners Mike & Caroline this cafe has agreat atmospere.Just sit back and enjoy the homemade cakes, freshly prepared food,coffees,tea's or a tipple.

Had bacon sausage egg on tiger bread wow what a breakfast set me up for the rest of the day, all made fresh while you wait lovely chap and very reasonable priced will be going again.

Fui hoy aquí para el almuerzo con mi madre y mi hermana y no lo puedo recomendar lo suficiente. La comida es fresca y muy bien preparado. La casa hizo patatas fritas son los mejores. El servicio es excelente y es un tranquilo lugar encantador. Después del almuerzo, tuvimos un precioso tiempo buscando (y comprar) algunos precioso vino, queso, pickles, chili mermeladas, risotto arroz, galletas saladas, lo que quieras. Además de una enorme ventaja es que tienen un día desayuno- ¿qué más se puede pedir!

I love this place. The owner is very knowledgeable about fine wine, cheeses and deli items. A great breakfast with fab atmosphere. Try the homemade chips! Lush. Will be returning for a cheese and wine evening with firiends.

Recomiendo encarecidamente su queso y vino sesiones de cata, ya que son informativos pero informal...

He estado viniendo aquí desde su inauguración en 2014 abril. ellos han visto crecer y evolucionar. Se puede decir que ahora son mejores que nunca. No tengáis miedo de aventurarse en cosas nuevas. Los huevos Scotch a la orden a veces a menos de 30 minutos de pedir no son ningún problema. Mark también ha estado haciendo tartas que descienden muy agradable con un espresso o lo que te gusta. Incluso puedes tener una selección de vinos y licores si así lo desea. Quesos y embutidos también disponibles si quieres algo un poco diferente junto con información completa que no se puede conseguir de supermercados ... en general un gran lugar para visitar y lo recomiendo encarecidamente.

He estado en Deli de Henry unas cuantas veces, y está convirtiendo en mi encontrarse lugar con mi familia. Es un bonito y pequeño lugar la comida es encantador! Los propietarios son gente muy agradable que te hacen sentir muy bien acogido y hará casi cualquier cosa. Compré algunos de los atascos venden la última vez y ese colega era muy servicial ayudarme a escoger Cuáles y dejarme probar antes. Uno de mis lugares favoritos para ir en southport.

Had breakfast here a couple of weeks ago and what a breakfast ! All freshly cooked and excellent quality food, all cooked to perfection and well presented on a large plate. Good service and attention to detail. Coffee was good quality Italian. Nice little deli with a great range of cheeses, well worth a visit

Came today sat outside, I ordered a tuna salad, my partner ordered bacon and pancakes, the service was amazing and the food is gorgeous, it's brilliant will definitely be coming again and would recommend Henry's deli to everyone!!

Had our breakfast here before setting off back and it was delicious, but the coffee even better.We are coffee lovers so to get coffee like you do in Spain is a top mark for us.Having not long got back from our holidays it was lovely to sit out on a nice day with a frothy coffee.

I have been several times and the food and service are always great. The breakfast is great, good quality sausages are served up with the usual goodies. I will be back

Been here several times to partake in their lovely homemade cakes along with a delicious Latte while I've been out on a run or a little cycle ride.Today I finally treated myself to one of their highly rated full English breakfast's and I wasn't disappointed. I'd heard they are extremely popular with golfers visiting some of Southports finest golf courses so I decided today was the day. Each item was delicious, the bacon and sausage is sourced from the quality butchers next door Holmes-Smith butchers, and the fried egg was perfectly cooked without the usual annoying crispy bits you get in most places.The Black pudding was delicious and cooked perfectly as well, no over cooked hockey puck imitations here.Hash brown was lovely and soft inside with a light crispy outside and a nice little serving of baked beans to compliment it.Portion size was ideal, not gut busting which they should never be unless your not considering lasting past your 50th birthday with regard to your overall health and diet.10 out of 10 for me and I'm looking forward to going back soon to try out their bagel with brie,crispy bacon and chilli jam...yum.

Trust me if this place was on the high street I have no hesitation in saying it would be packed all day long. For my first visit, being a Saturday morning, I plumped for the Full English and I'm glad I did. It was all cooked to order and the quality was second to none including the all important banger which has to be one of the the best I've ever had. For for all you foodies that way pass this way look it up, drop in and enjoy.

We live just the other side of the bridge and my wife and I have been for breakfast on a few occasions. Always nicely cooked food with a friendly service. The coffee is good as well.They do lunches and are also licences for alcohol so you can gave a glass of wine as well.

Henry's Deli is a warm and friendly place to visit for eating in or just buying at the counter. The food on offer always looks delicious and the food ordered off the menu is aways prepared to perfection. The selection of beers and wines are quality and compliment the food on offer. A great place in our community.

We've been several times to this quaint deli...and not only is the service impeccable, the food is fresh and plentiful! Great for a nice hangover-cure-breakfast! Great as well for any little bits missing from the weekly shop.Now with an alcohol licence, so it's nice to sit out on the terrace and enjoy a refreshing beverage watching the world go by.Would recommend more, but it's quite nice that it's small and quaint enough to see that it's not overrun by the high-street-tourists.

Popped in to grab some lunch on a nice Sunday morning, lovely atmosphere with the outside area, simple no fuss menu, decent portion sizes just enough as not to be greedy. Inside is a wealth of fine wines that are deliciously paired with some excellent cheeses and cut meats and fresh breads.They serve Prosecco by the glass... WINNER!They do an interesting hamper service which I will be enquiring about nearer Christmas I think!

We regularly go to Henry's for their amazing breakfasts. The breakfast rolls are massive and the sausage and bacon is fresh from the butchers next door. They sell a range of meats, cheeses etc as well as nice wines and beers.There is always a nice atmosphere and Mark and Christine the owners are really friendly and genuine people. Really great local business we hope does as well as it deserves to!

What a great find, an authentic Deli and Café just opened on Hesketh Drive, nr Churchtown, Southport. Packed full of gourmet delights, speciality cheeses, salamis, hams, olives, homemade pate and salads. Fresh baked bread everyday and homemade cakes, this deli is a must for good food lovers. Visited today with family and stayed for lunch as everything looked so tempting . My daughter had the delicious bagels with brie and crispy bacon, I had the turkey & chilli chutney flatbread and my granddaughter had very tasty sausage with proper HOMEMADE CHIPS, all freshly cooked by the very friendly owners/ chefs Mark and Christine who are happy to let you browse . The food was great and the portions very generous. Bought some lovely homemade cake and fresh fruit +veg to take home. Will definatley be back.
