The best restaurants serving British food in Wyre North West

Oh dear, what’s going on at the Farmer’s Arms? This was once one of our favourite haunts for high end pub food and pleasant atmosphere. Our foursome arrived a little early so we ordered drinks in the bar and awaited our table to become free. Sadly despite knowing we were waiting, no one came and told us they were ready for us. We went to the restaurant uninvited and were strangely shown to a table that would accommodate eight places despite there being several unoccupied four place tables. After the starters, when asked by the the young waitress if everything was okay, I mentioned that my smoked mackerel rarebit was a bit on the cold side (it had obviously been left on the pass too long) , this was met with a giggle from the girl without any word of apology either then or later on. The rest of the meal, though unremarkable, was reasonably good and passed without incident. In conclusion I would say that the place has lost some of its “gastro pub” veneer and to regain its former standing, needs to brush up on customer service. Not rushing back!

Kays has had a refurbishment just a couple of weeks ago and They're back better than ever! Staff are superb. Fabulous fresh fried fish and chips. Just a stones throw from one of the best beachs in the UK. Alternatively they have just opened their new eat in restaurant.

Some of the tastiest food I've had. The 3 course Sunday lunch deal was great value and decent portions. Lovely decor and relaxed atmosphere. Great service. The mushroom starter was amazing, so much flavour.

Great Sunday roasts, fresh and well cooked with plenty of it, very good value and managed 2 nice puddings. Friendly staff , would recommend, and will re visit.

It was just after lunch and myself and my brother took a ride to cleaveleys as I often do for a bite to eat and then walk it off, (he walks and I'm on my mobility scooter), I had notice this pllace a few times and kept thinking I will check it out one day, well that day was today. I saw that they did all day breakfast and I just love that any hour of the day, so instead of the usual place I go across the road in to the Carousel I went. Now me being a slend chap (19st) I had the Belly Buster Breakfast, and what a surprise when it came on a big silver platter, 3 bacon, 3 sausages, 2 eggs, 2 black pudding, 2 full rounds ot toast, beans, tomatoes,full slice of fried bread, mushrooms and a standard cooffee all in the price, and let me tell you that it was well worth it and nice with being freshly cooked, unlike some other places that prepare it ready cling filmed and in the fridge till ordered then in the microwave, but I refuse to name them here as it would not be fair. Oh and by the way the brother had scone with cream and jam, (light weight). The 2 ladies that was serving were very professional and cheerful which always makes for a nice place, you just dont want long faces, its like an ex wife..... I will be back ladies but I may have a couple of cakes before I get there...

Absolutely top notch. The fish and batter excellent Chip’s amazing. Was lucky to find today on my way home. I owned a chip shop in the seventies . Finally the service very friendly 👍

A nice bar but this was Saturday early evening. The music, for us, was far too loud. Seems to attract middle aged people who like to be seen. Not my scene but clearly they enjoyed it

What a fabulous place Truly is in Poulton we just returned from a ladies what lunch catch up the food was outstanding the home made soup potato and leek was delicious as was the quality of the sandwiches The waitresses were fabulous so pleasant and helpful I would highly reccomend you visit we booked in advance glad we did as it was really busy A group of us had afternoon tea here last year and omg it was outstanding food on offer was exceptional one think is for sure we will be back

Great snacks , tea. Very clean , café and facilities . The staff are very helpful and great service. Will definitely visit again.👍

wasted journey for the 3 rd time in the last 6 weeks, the place is always closed with no notice in the window. i wonder if it has closed !

Visited Corn Mill for lunch today, absolutely fantastic, always have something different each time we visit and food is fresh,hot,all home cooked it's just a lovely cafe so clean and always welcome our little dog,it's one of the best cafe in Poulton.Sfaff are lovely.

"SPECIAL DIETS - Vegan Options, Gluten Free Options, Vegetarian Friendly" is what the listing here says, but when I asked what the Vegan Options were, I was told "We don't have any, this isn't a vegan eatery". It's a shame because I used to come here fairly regularly a couple of years ago, and the staff and menu were vegan friendly and it was never too much trouble to come up with something - so I would bring friends here (meat eaters and non-meat eaters) and everyone was happy. Still, on the plus side, it's a nice place. Just if you have a vegan in your party, or you want to eat environmentally friendly, then unfortunately The Little Restaurant is no longer an option. :(

Fantastic fish and chips, huge portions and super tasty! The entertainment was an added bonus. I’ve never been in a happier chippy. The staff were hilarious and the customers were a cheerful bunch.
