Another wonderful meal here. Totally looked after by Adam and Chris. Superb service and delicious food. One of our favourite places.

Just had a really tasty early dinner. We chose from the specials board; Steamed Shetland mussels followed by Pan-fried Cod . We gave them both 10/10. The service was impeccable too, friendly and professional. Just perfect.

Myself and lovely Amanda once again had a wonderful Sunday lunch at the Fantastic Farmers. Adam and his Farmy Army are warriors of service. Amazing service despite the fact that they were mad busy when we got there. Taylor behind the bar and everywhere else! What a grafter. His big brother wasn't bad either. Only joking, he was on top form like the rest of the team. Food was fabulous. I salute you all. 😎🍻

Booked a table for Sunday lunch at this pub and were hugely impressed. We were met by the staff who were very welcoming and attentive. We were early so drinks at the bar was a starter to the afternoon with a knowledgeable and engaging barman. Once seated at our table in the very comfortable restaurant we ordered the traditional Sunday lunch with one of us having beef, the other chicken with all the usual accompaniments, all cooked to perfection. All hot too. Service was timely and efficient and the meal was 10/10 excellent. One of us had a dessert of lemon curd cheesecake, again superb. Big shout out to the draught beer - Hen Harrier - light and very enjoyable. The menu, if Sunday lunch is not your thing is a good choice of other dishes from fish, curry and burgers. It is definitely one of those eateries where you would return again and again. We intend to!

Excellent, tasty seafood and fish starters and main courses, good service and terrific presentation, but a couple of things took the edge off the experience. A scoop of mediocre vanilla ice cream in a chipped cup and a jug of tepid not very strong espresso masqueraded as affagato. Suspect it had been thrown together by the bar staff - come on guys, you can do better than that! And the chicken supreme served to our non fish eater looked like convalescent food. But a very pleasant evening and we'll definitely go again, apart from the non fish eater.

Great place staff really attentive in fact exceptional. Food and wine very good but I think on the whole over priced . I’m happy to pay but this is a bit too much for what is delivered. Love to go back as very good but ….. do

We have visited on a number of occasions over the past two years and in the past , we have been very happy with the restaurant. This time was slightly disappointing. We were sat close to the corner, next to the window looking out into the car park. This meant most of the traffic of the waiters and waitresses had to pass the back of my chair. I lost count of the number of times someone ran into the chair. The menu has become a little ordinary and boring if you visit often. There is a specials board and this offers a wider variety of dishes. The food has always been very good and this visit was excellent. Service was average, with the exception of a young lady called Georgia, who was very attentive and helpful. All in all, still a very high standard, but seems to be slipping into a rut. I think the question is, are they trying to be a very good quality restaurant or a very good pub?

This is our favourite restaurant/bar by a long way. The food is to die for and Ben the barman is so friendly and chilled. We can’t rate this place highly enough.

We haven't been in the Farmers Arms for years, it was good to see how the restaurant had changed, they've done a great job with it. We were greeted at the door by lovely staff, who were really attentive and provided great service all evening. We chose the goat cheese and crab pate starters which were really good, and the fish chips and roast chicken in tarragon sauce with herb mash from the specials. My husband said it was the best fish & chips he'd ever had in a pub, he really enjoyed it and my chicken dish was superb. We will definitely return. Service and food excellent. I am also a celiac and need to be gluten free. There was loads of options and it was great to have a menu labelled clearly and not have to feel awkward asking what I could eat.

I had high hopes for this restaurant and we have been meaning to go here for last three years. This being our wedding anniversary- I thought it would be something special. To be fair the place was warm, service was outstanding and fabulous choice of real ales. I had a burger which was cold and maybe not cooked as thorough as I wanted. My wife had pasta with a too spicy sauce which I found very bland. So it was okay but I wouldn’t hurry back.

We stumbled across this absolute gem on Friday lunchtime, we obviously hadn’t booked and the manager informed us on entry that they weren’t taking walk in’s as it was a seafood specials event. We obviously looked very disappointed and I think as there were only 2 of us he gave us a table, great start ….. What a pleasant surprise the interior was, very comfortable and cosy. We ordered drinks and were given time to look at the menu. My husband asked if they could do him a starter of mussels that weren’t on the menu and they were able to do this, I had the chicken livers “wow” so tasty. Main courses were the cheese and onion pie which was nice but perhaps needed a little gravy/sauce (I’m sure if we’d asked they would have brought some) and a perfectly cooked fillet steak and great onion rings!!} All the food was excellent. However, the ladies waiting on deserve a special mention, Angela and a dark haired lady, we loved your friendly but professional manner, nothing was too much trouble and it made our visit that little bit more enjoyable. From our table we could also hear some of the “kitchen banter” and it was great to hear staff that were respectful to each other and seemed to enjoy their work, it added to the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. It was a great experience all round, we enjoyed our lunch and will definitely be back, thank you.

First time visit to the Farmers Arms, welcomed by Anya who was pleasant and friendly and very helpful. Also served by Nathan who again was very friendly and welcoming. Did have an issue with the ale I had ordered but Nathan was more than happy to change it for me, I chose the Pheasant Plucker ale and when asked what I wanted having replied I had better be careful what I said, Nathan knew straight away what I wanted. The food was amazing, staff were brilliant and I recommend this place. Will definitely go back

This pub/restaurant is a great place for food. While not paying pub lunch prices, which is why it only gets four stars, the food and service are excellent. We’d planned to have a starter each, a main course each and share a dessert but we were both too full to contemplate the dessert. The steak burger I had was large and filling and the onion rings as extras were superb. Attending to us was Allison and she was the epitome of what great service should be. Attentive, friendly and good at her job. All told, I’d fully recommend this establishment but don’t expect to pay typical pub lunch prices.

It’s very unfortunate that I have to write this review, I have been eating there since the day it opened, usually on a Sunday for Sunday dinner, unfortunately on this occasion it was very bad, they usually serve fantastic food and great portions, I had to ask the staff if it was a different chef as the portion size was very small in comparison to when I went literally a few months ago, not only was the size of the portions small, they literally gave me two very small potatoes and the beef was quite tough, I had to ask the waiter three times if they had any mint sauce on an all three occasions he said he would be right back, Not only did he not come back but by the time I asked the manager for mint sauce I’d already finished my main , very disappointing you have now lost a very loyal customer and I have recommended this place 1 million times to my friends

Don't order the club sandwich unless your happy with lightly toasted white supermarket sliced bread with tasteless tomato a sliver of bacon and tough chicken.

We had a trip out to the farmers arms as we had been recommended it. Overall we were very disappointed. The staff were rude, the portions were tiny and very overpriced, my fish pie didn’t come with any veg and the service was slow. We left feeling very let down unfortunately.

Visited for the first time by chance and was really impressed. I had the fish and chips which was decent - batter was perfect, fish was flaky and tasty enough, but the home style chips were the star of the show. The missus got the steak pie which she also said was excellent and included a great selection of seasonal veg done perfectly. Little girl enjoyed her children's sausage and chips. Honestly can't fault the food at all and would go back. A couple of minor points that stopped me giving 5 stars - I could see into the kitchen from my table and while I didn't see anything wrong (in fact I saw chef rolling pastry for the steak pie lid so I know it was fresh, not reheated) it spoiled the ambience a bit. Also I got a shandy which wasn't made 50-50, it was more like 70% lemonade and tasted a bit flat. But these are minor things, I'd happily go back. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food.

After visiting Bygone Times we decided to call here for lunch. The outside looked appealing. Inside was ok, not busy, only at least 10 people inside. Great atmosphere, great staff. The fish and chips was excellent. The Sunday Roast was disappointing. Beef was quite tough. The vegetables was very mixed. Single small cauliflower and the french beans were all but raw. Two small roast potatoes. Not great!

Let me start by saying how wonderful, caring and respectful the staff are at this exceptional gastropub. Adam, the General Manager, is a hard-working and generous asset to the Farmers Arms and leads his team of front of house and kitchen staff very professionally.

I cannot recommend this place enough. The service is first class & the food is to do for. A little pricey but I guess you get what you pay for. Will definitely be coming again.

I rang to book a last minute table for Saturday evening (definitely something you need to do on the weekend as more often than not they are fully booked). Adam fitted me and 2 friends in with no issue at all. We arrived and had a quick drink at the bar before going through to our table. The atmosphere in the pub was great! It was warm, cosy, very busy but you didnt feel that it was an issue for the staff as they are all smiling and attentive.

We visited farmers arms on Saturday evening with family for a Mother’s Day dinner. There was 7 people, each of us pretty much had something different for starters main & desert, the food was absolutely outstanding, we all thoroughly enjoyed what we had not to mention the service from Adam & his team. All staff are polite, professional & really helpful despite being a very busy & popular place with a lovely welcoming atmosphere.

Visited fir a family meal on a Saturday lunchtime. We had heard good reviews of this place do decided to give it a go fir a family birthday lunch. The place was more or less empty even though it was a Saturday and atmosphere non existent. The lunchtime menu was very limited so we all chose from the main a la carte. The quality of all good was extremely poor. My own fish was the lamb but more fat than meat and in the menu the vegetables sounded interesting but were more or less non existent. None of us were impressed and we all came away with the opinion of overpriced rubbish. Do avoid and the staff were appalling you only had to pause for a second and plates and glasses were being whisked away before we had finished! It wasn’t like they needed the table the place was almost empty and perhaps not surprising empty perhaps this place was good once nit any more. We will not be returning and my recommendation is to AVOUD

Great night last night and wonderful food. Keep coming back for the variety in seafood specials. Oysters, mackerel and langoustines for starters duck, hake, turbot and lamb burger for mains all were wonderful especially the turbot.

Were heading somewhere for lunch not realising it wasnt open on a Monday, so decided to visit here instead. Glad we did. A few fellow diners in. Menu was extensive along with great specials board too. Prices competitive for a place of this standard. Really tasty fish curry for one and noodle dish for other ordered and fully devoured. Desserts also very enjoyable. Would definitely visit again as this place seems to be consistently good with nice staff too.

From the start to finish this was an awful Xmas Day dinner ,there were lots of issues with the dinner but mainly the food portions that were served to us were extremely small ,we are not big eaters but as a group of 10 every one left the table hungry . for example one roast potato halved , one parsnip ,cold inedible sprouts , no cranberry [until asked], gravy the colour of dishwater, one pig in blanket ,a small stuffing ball . The more I think about it I cannot believe we did not complain there an then but everyone was trying to celebrate xmas day as family ,sorry Farmers Arms at £70 each[paid in advance] it was totally unacceptable, we are not returning

Excellent meal at the Farmers yesterday evening. The ' festive menu ' is great value and the bream was particularly good. The hake off the al la carte was also very tasty. All in all a great meal and friendly service

He comido aquí varias veces para almuerzo con amigos. Hoy 4 de nosotros decidimos ir por el menú oferta especial de 3 platos. Como el 4 de nosotros nos decidimos por la oferta especial de 3 platos nos dieron una botella de vino gratis. Como siempre, si hay algo que desee ajustar el menú a razón son siempre atento.

Recientemente tuvimos una comida en este restaurante que fue muy decepcionante. Después de visitar varias veces a lo largo de los años y siempre tener una comida agradable con un servicio excelente, nos decepcionó en esta particular ocasión de encontrar que varias veces ya había vendido y el servicio era pobre. Decidimos protestar y como resultado recibimos algunos vales para disculparse. Estábamos contentos de volver e intentarlo de nuevo. Por desgracia, a nuestra vuelta, esta noche nos encontramos de nuevo decepción. Mi marido pidió la principal especial que fue budín désuet. Este venía con 3 blobs del muy pequeño cheffy de puré de patatas. Mi hijo, que es de 14 y no puede comer comidas enorme debido a una condición médica pedimos 2 entrantes en lugar de un plato principal. Pidió a pato y tortitas como uno de sus comidas. La camarera dijo que como él estaba teniendo con nuestro principal campo de que podían hacer un poco más grande que un plato de la porción que nos dijo estaba bien. Cuando llegó, aunque todo eso era más grande era la cantidad de tortitas. La salsa de ciruela estaba en un vaso de shot y no en relación a las tortitas. Pedimos más de salsa pero que todavía no fueron suficientes. Cuando llegó la cuenta nos cobraron el doble de la cantidad del precio inicial haciendo 17 libras. 50 para un montón de tortitas y no mucho más. Finalmente nos llamó 5 Libras como me dijo la camarera esto debería haber sido explicó cuando pedimos. Ahora hemos decidido que no volveremos. El restaurante tiene ideas por encima de su estación y es, sin duda, demasiado caro para lo que es. Siempre hemos recomendado a personas y han sido sorprendidos cuando dijeron haber sido y no volveremos, pero nosotros añadiendo a esa lista.

Fuimos a un cumpleaños especial y uno de los grupo pidieron pastel de pescado gambas en sólo 3 por desgracia. Mi marido tenía un medley de pescado y pasta estaba pasada. Otro miembro tenía curry pescado desafortunadamente muy poco pescado en este. Tuve el cordero a la pimienta que estaba bien. En general una comida decepcionante. Estábamos tan ansiosos de esta noche porque habíamos oído buenas críticas

Quality and service is not great. The food portions were small and overpriced with the prawn curry offering two prawns in a soup-like yellow sauce. Sadly a disappointing visit. £80 for four main meals.
