Absolutely top notch. The fish and batter excellent Chip’s amazing. Was lucky to find today on my way home. I owned a chip shop in the seventies . Finally the service very friendly 👍

Food was disappointing to say the least,thought the fish tasted bitter,gave it to the dog who'll usually eat anything,she left it. Say no more.

Its rare that I write a bad review but unfortunately, this was that bad. Chips were undercooked, the fish was overcooked and the sausage.... it had the strangest taste that also tainted my cutlery, it was really odd, maybe like a cleaning agent for the headlamp area that had contaminated the food perhaps? whatever it was, my son had to throw his food away. The price was also off balance, considering the actual portions and quality of food that you receive, £13 for a fish and chips and sausage and chips is a tad overpriced. we wont be returning.

Called in on Tuesday night, very pleasant young girl taking orders & names to deliver to the car, really pleased they were in cardboard boxes as opposed to polystyrene, only problem is they get rather soggy with the heat, that aside the fish supper was lovely, would definitely recommend this little delight!

We’ve been getting fish & chips from here once a week now for quite a few months and the service and quality of the food has been brilliant, with no exceptions. Local delivery is provided at no extra cost, which has been such a boon during Covid. The staff work tirelessly to serve the local community and at such a reasonable cost. Always polite and efficient service. Really well done guys, we do appreciate it.

I don't usually leave reviews, I've had some dismal offers of GF fish/chips.. It's been a long while since we've been to Turners because of lockdown.. But it was excellent, perfect batter, which I'm told is not easy to get right... Beautiful white fresh fish.. Such a treat... The girl who served my husband even brought it out to the car for us.. All in all well done Turners... Thank you.

Absolutely awful food, waited 20 mins and got a sausage that had either been warmed up from yesterday or was over cooked, was like rubber, that with chips that wernt cooked properly Went in the bin

This place is about 1/2 miles up the road from my home. Given the current environment is difficult eating out so take away is on the menu. Hats off to these guys as they’re managing the crisis with five stars. It goes like this, phone your order, tell them what time you’ll arrive to collect, tell them your car make. Turn up, they’re expecting you, order delivered to your car, pay contactless. Absolutely perfect and safe service. Additionally the food is first class, best fish n chips I’ve had in a long time. Sometimes you just don’t know what’s on your doorstep. I don’t need to say anymore,just do it and you’ll give it the thumbs up too.

Undercooked. Place has gone downhill. The ‘drive by’ set up is a shambles. Waited so long for awful food.

Super impressed with the easy online order system and collection was made so easy being brought to the car with a time slot (lockdown may 2020) The food was amazing and everyone was excited to have a chippy tea! We we will definitely be back. Keep up the great work 🐟🍟😍

I’ve known the Turners for a while and their chippy is as you’d expect. I called most recently for chips, pudding, peas and gravy and it was as to be expected - with great service too!

Heavy rain on last night of our holiday...fish and chips a few min walk away....we wasnt disappointed...hot, tasty and good value

Visited on day out, had 2x haddock and chips. Fish was well cooked with crispy batter and chips were ok but just a tad greasy but plentiful in quantity and tasted fine. Would visit again as almost always have good traditional fish and chips here.

I came here today on my way to work today and i had a small fish and chips, the food was okay. However half way into my meal i was basically kicked out on to the street, i had ordered from the takeaway section and apparently you're not allowed to eat food from there in the restaurant section, but this in my opinion is not made clear. When i had left i noticed a small a5 sign which i hadn't noticed on my way in which said that i vould taake a seat and the staff would take my order but to me this doesnt make it clear that takeaway food cannot be eaten in the restaurant. It would have been much more helpful if the the person who served me asked if i would like to sit in. So i was kicked out because the price at the takeway section is different to that of the restaurant and when I was told this i asked what i could do and the 'waitress' offered no help. I do not drive and my. I would have paid the extra money but it wasnt clear as to what i was getting for the extra money and the waitress didnt give me this option. Work is a 15 minute walk from turners, so after i was told i couldn't eat my food in the restaurant i had no option but to stand outside and try eat my food with a pathetically small wooden fork

This has got too be the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten. Never will I go again it was awful. As for the coffee there was a layer of grease on it . Too me that's not washing the cups properly. Anyway enough said ..

Our son had been here before and recommended we eat there as it was handy for our trip out. We decided to eat in, not overly spacious but sufficient room and plenty of menu choice (the house meal was well put together and excellent value). We were given as much time as we wanted but didn't have to wait, nor were we rushed. The food arrived quickly, was excellent quality and easily sufficient quantity. Our requirements were checked and met with pleasant service as was settling the bill.

Nipped in on my way home from work as I was feeling a bit peckish and ordered a steak pie . Got in the van and had to let it cool down as it was piping hot so straight away told me it had been microwaved . Crust was soggy and the meat inside was just grey and bone dry , not one bit of juice or sauce in it so binned it straight away . Couple of lads got chips on curry and said the chips were like mush and only picked at theirs . YOU DONT MICROWAVE PIES ITS A BIG NO NO !!!!

Visited for takeaway haddock and chips, and a couple of drinks Fish was perfect well cooked with nice crispy batter, chips a bit greasy and not quite as nice but tasted fine. Overall enjoyed the meal and will visit again when in the area.

The fish was previously frozen and over cooked. Chips were were limp. Mushy peas were brown. The vinegar, if you can call it that, was that non brewed condiment rubbish. Even the salt had no taste to it!

First time visit for me. Traditional fish and chips, lovely and fresh, tasty fish. Very good value for money, included tea and bread and butter. Extremely busy, so obviously a popular place.

We visited on a busy Friday teatime and sat in the café. We both ordered the fish and chip special: cod, chips, gravy or peas, bread & butter and a drink for £8.50; our three year old's fish and chips came free which was excellent value. The fish was fresh, huge and perfectly cooked; the chips were golden brown - not ghostly white like most chippies. We had a fantastic dinner - probably the best. The service was fast and friendly. We couldn't ask for more!

Called into Turners on the way back from a short break and sat in the restaurant. What can l say? We had piping hot fresh fish and chips and they are among the best l have ever tasted. Such generous portions. The restaurant is nothing fancy but it is comfortable and has everything you need. Have been back since and it is just as good and well woth the reasonable price.

Had Fish and Chips from here today. Plenty of chips and the fish was a decent size but all I could taste was the oil used to fry them up.

Had fish and chips from this place and really disappointed at the poor quality of the food served up and the price they have the cheek to charge.I am sure the fish had been stood for an hour at least and the chips ended up being given to the dogs. Not what I would class as award winning.

Decided to call in as we were passing at lunchtime, have had fish andchips from here when on a canal boat trip, and weren’t disappointed a few years ago so decided to have some today, really enjoyed the fish and chips, nicely cooked and freshly cooked, would definitely go again when in the area.

I visit turners regularly and i must say i am never disappointed. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. The staff are really friendly and clearly pride themselves in looking after their customers. Definitely worth a visit!!

Not been here for 2 years and thought would take a visit back and wasn’t impressed and the chips were over cooked and the fish was very greasy. I also don’t understand the cardboard box either when having gravy with your meal as it’s soaks into the cardboard.

Fab chippy. Good quality food and great service. Did feel it was slightly expensive but the quality and service was there.

Called in for a cooked breakfast whilst staying in nearby by accommodation. Ordered 4 full English 2 large. 2 regular. All came with toast and tea or coffee. Lovely freshly cooked food. Nice friendly staff. Superb value for money. Will definitely visit again.

Four of us ordered. All chips were cold and greasy . No steak puddings replaced by cold stodge pies. Fish was tainted , oily and generally inedible. Poor quality would not return again.

With having a Caravan nearby we have been to this Chippy quite a few times over the years.My main gripe over this time has been the chips, quite a few scraps to bulk up the serving. When I was young these were given free and not included with the chips. Some people must have really bad chippys if these are good. I doubt this will change though at it is on a busy road and different customers will always pop in so no need to.Anyway, visited today (12/10/16) and we decided to sit in for a change. I had Fish chips and peas which were lovely, the fish especially, but again the scraps slightly spoiled it for me. My wife had Steak pudding chips and peas which she enjoyed except for ... you guessed. On leaving she was asked was everything ok, she mentioned how awful the chips were and was informed by the young girl serving that "Oh they must have changed the potatoes"!!, nothing else, just gave my wife her change. The staff are usually nice and a pleasant place to go if you have not been before.One thing though, (but I have to mention it) can you tell the young girls that if the freshly washed cutlery is dropped on to the floor it cannot just be put into the containers ready for the next customers and must be re-washed instead.

this really is a fast food shop--placed in a very busy position on the A6 you get a warm and helpful reception-and the choice of take away or for about a dozen--sit in-the fish and chips are excellent and really tasty and always been reliable--well done to the owner who is on the ball for customer needs

We visited on a week night and the takeaway counter wasn't busy (around 6pm). We both had chips and my husband had a sausage to go with it. The chips were lovely and hubby said that it was the nicest sausage he'd ever had!!

Family run, immaculately clean and extremely fresh food - this place is definitely up there with the best Chippies in Lancashire. Their chips are always crispy, their fish is gorgeous and they serve a really good quality sausage that can't be beaten. The next time you're near Preston - stop in - you won't regret it. (They serve breakfast too - their sausage butties are bloody gorgeous)

After a cracking walk in and around Garstang, we decided to head home for food but hunger got the better of us and we called here. In future I would pass on. I asked for a traditional Chips, peas and gravy. I am a Northern lad! It was supplied in a box! Gravy all over me as we ate it in the car. This akin to soup in a basket. When asked if we wanted salt and vinegar, No was the reply just a little salt. After lashings of vinegar, we realised that the unwelcoming staff had more to do than treat the customer first. Also and more importantly a THANK YOU, when paying would be welcome. I don't doubt this place makes a good living and the food was not bad but I will never go to places that do not put customers first. Bye bye Turners.

Excellent place to stop away from the normal M6 service stations. 12 mins off motorway. Also gluten free fish fab. Will visit again.

This is a super little chip & fish shop with sit in facilities which I can recommend. it's a good place to start your day, with an excellent breakfast menu - light breakfast which I have had twice recently consisted of 2 rashers of bacon, an egg, sausage, beans, mushroom's, a slice of toast and a pot of tea or coffee £4.35 there is a larger breakfast available plus buns/baps to takeaway. Open everyday except Sunday, I think breakfast is served from 8am possibly 15mins either way

Extremely friendly staff, lovely food very reasonable prices and nice selection on the menu,2 x main adults meals and our child's was free - bonus- will be calling again when in the area A+++++

we went for a stroll along the canal then we thought we would have a snack, but we ended up having a lovely chips and fish with peas bread and butter pot of tea for two and what a good choice that was, it was nothing like your regular fish in the chippy it was superb thanks to the staff as well, we will return.

Turners has got to be the best fish and chip shop ever , there's hardly any wait at all and when you've given your order its there in 2 minutes and when you get home its still fresh and warm I highly recommend this to any one who loves a good fish and chips so I recommend this to everyone !!!!!!

Called in today for the first time (as we live in Bamford in Rochdale) and was stuck for somewhere to have breakfast. We seen a sign at Turners Fish & chips shop that also said bacon butties etc. and Breakfasts. In a lovely little café setting, in a little village.We tried the full breakfast and it was absolutely fantastic. The food was lovely, as well as the service and also extremely reasonable pricewise. The coffee was also excellent,(which is unusual in most cafes), it came in a cafetiere and was just right.....perfect!! Visited after a long week at work and just wanted a traditional chippy tea. Had heard about this award winning chippy and decided to give it a go. Wish I had found it sooner! I was pleasantly surprised to find a small seating area within and so we ate in the restaurant. For a very reasonable £7.95 you get the freshest fish, perfectly-cooked chips, peas or gravy (served in a proper boat!), a slice of dirty white bread and butter and tea or coffee. It was simply wonderful, so much so that we have been back regularly to this little gem several times since and recommended it to friends and family. Try it: you won't be disappointed!

Great chippy, yeah, a bit pricey but wonderful food and the staff are pleasant too. The food is well cooked and hot and lots of variety with large portions. This is my very fussy friend's fave chippy and she doesn't live anywhere near it!!!

We have normally enjoyed a good take away from here but our last few visit have not been consistent!! Normally the food is good but recently greasy chips, soggy batter wrong orders and our last visit my partner found a very long black hair in his fish and chips! Now one by mistake you can forgive, but to find a second long black hair is just disgusting!! Such a shame as the curry is beautiful!!

Reserved a table for 9 of us as an 11th birthday lunch after a morning running around like maniacs. Had no great expectations from a roadside chippy but I have to say it was fabulous. The cafe area is small but clean, the staff were pleasant and cheerful, portions were huge and the food from the fish to the chicken tikka was delightful. Never fails to surprise me how many chippies can't do nice chips, but no problems here. What a treat.

As it says on the tin - a good fish and chip shop cafe. Nice for a lunch, good service and reasonable price. Delicious chips and fish. Would not class as a restaurant or romantic venue, but good at what is does - providing delicious wholesome fish and chips including gluten free on certain days. Very nice traditional fish and chips at very reasonable prices. Not normally a fan of batter, theirs is very crispy and light....not geasy at all and I ate the lot! Only moot point was the hot water did not work in the loo. The staff were very helpful and cheerful.

if you are a fish and chips person this the place to go . this is where fish want to end up when they are caught (.chippy heaven ). Visiting from Bristol and checked out the reviews for this fish & chip restaurant online before leaving home and e-mailed them and booked a table in advance. Had an immediate confirmation. Table was reserved. Service was excellent and swift. Staff were very polite and welcoming. The gluten free haddock and chips was extremely tasty and cooked to order. Will definitely visit again when next in the area and would highly recommend. It is always difficult to find establishments in this area that have even heard of a gluten free diet and to find one that actually caters for one is a real find!

We had lunch at Turner's while working in the area. The food was excellent, the Irish curry was very tasty, a "proper" cup uf tea and the waitress could not have been more pleasant and helpful.

Decided to try Turners after reading the reviews on this site. Had a Tuesday tea-time take-away of Gluten free fish and chips, butter pie, chips, peas, gravy and curry sauce. Thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful, not a single complaint. Portions were generous and prices were reasonable. The staff were helpful and pleasant. We will be back soon!

To close for my health it is so yummy I could go everyday here for my fish and chips and a really good giggle with the staff who are very efficient professional but really nice . The place is clean and portions very generous you couldn't possibly want to eat anything after you have had a great meal from here !!!!!!

Consider ourselves very lucky to have Turners as our local chippy and have always enjoyed the food , but now it is even better since they opened their lovely little dining room and became licensed to serve alcohol too. Now our chippy tea has gone up a notch and we can enjoy a nice glass of wine with our meal . My favourite meal has to be a lightly battered fish with a few chips,mushy peas and a portion of their absolutely delicious Irish curry sauce, sheer bliss!!!

Went to this brilliant chippy on monday with my husband and 5 year old son. We ate in the restaurant style eating area and had proper menus. The choice of food was really good even for kids and my husband and i even got to have a cheeky peroni with dinner. The prices were good and because we ate , my son's meal and drink were free. Definitely would recommend.

The Fish and Chips at this Chippy could quite possibly be the best in the UK. I'm not joking when I say that.I'm 43 years old this year and these are most definitely the best Fish & Chips I have ever tasted. It was no fluke either, as I've visited this establishment on three occasions and each visit as good as the last. Can't wait for my next visit... :D

We were in the Billsborrow area and decided to have some tea out instead of cooking. We went to Turners and chose to eat in the restaurant. We had the meal deal which consisted of fish, chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and a pot of tea at a very reasonable price. The food was freshly cooked to order and was delicious and the staff very polite and friendly. The premises are spotlessly clean. We will definitely be going again in the near future and strongly recommend this chippy to people who enjoy good traditional fish and chips.

Go here reguarly as their gluten free options is the best around preston/ ribble valley by far. Always hot fresh perfectly cooked food including many sopecials. Excellent prices, fantastic staff and hygeine and cleanlinerss a credit to them

This is the best fish n chips weve found.The food is always lovely and fresh and the staff are very friendly and helpful.Nothing is too much trouble.Always take out but will try the sit in especially now as you can have a drink with youre meal.Well worth the 30 minute drive we have to make.

purtoppo il locale ha degli orari un po cortini avremmo voluto andarci a cena senza dover praticare l'asporto ma chiudendo alle 20 in punto in pratica devi cenare alle 18.30.La domenica inoltre è sempre chiuso.Per quanto riguarda la qualità del cibo direi veramente soddisfacente anche se a mia moglie non è piaciuta la classica salsiccia proposta, io invece sono rimasto contento del fish and chips.Consiglio di provarlo non rimarrete delusi.

This was an excellent find can't believe we had driven past it so many times. Great service really attentive staff and the food was very tasty and we even got a child's meal free as that's one of there deals. Portions were massive but quality as well. We will certainly return!!

We visited as a family of five on a Friday evening, and sat in the small restaurant area. The wait between ordering & food arriving was short, around 5 minutes. The chips were made from 'proper potato' not the frozen or par cooked ones some chippys use, and were fantastic, as was the fish. My wife said the mushy peas were very nice too.Turners is one of the best fish and chip shops in the Preston area, a little out of the way, but worth the drive.

We are 3 seniors who visit regularly and have the pensioners special,it is great value for money but you don't need to be a pensioner to have it,personally I don't know how anyone could eat a full portion.I keep promising to try something other than the fish but we love the fish so much.Try it you will be hooked too.The owners and the staff are really helpful and friendly too.we like to sit in the dining room and be waited on.There are always special deals on for families with children's meals free on some.
