Fantastic fish and chips, huge portions and super tasty! The entertainment was an added bonus. I’ve never been in a happier chippy. The staff were hilarious and the customers were a cheerful bunch.

Normally the best chippy in Fleetwood. I called at 18.15 to be told they didn’t have any chips left. I left as well as a couple that where in front of me. This is not an isolated incident, as it has happened to me at least twice before at lunch time & tea time. Hope someone can get it sorted before they loose more customers.

Went here for lunch during our stay at the local haven site. We saw this place had good reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. We were not disappointed. The fish was freshly cooked and even though we ordered a regular size it was a large piece of fish. The chips were also tasty and not greasy. The gravy was thick and we all enjoyed our meals. It also wasn't too expensive. We highly recommend going here.

Soooo good I want to eat it every day ! They really are the best . Lovely clean shop, friendly staff but the fish is the star of the show .

This fish and chip shop has amazing food, friendly staff. The regular fish and chips is huge and so fresh. Cannot fault this place we have come on a family holiday and came across it by mistake and I cannot fault the food or the service. Definatly recommend this place for food quality and saving the pennies.

Best Chippy in Fleetwood or perhaps even in Wyre !! Family run business selling local produce. Great customer service as well!! Highly recommended!

We have eaten fish and chips quite a few times this Summer from this great Chip Shop. The fish looks and tastes super and the chips are lovely too. Cooked on ordering and reasonably priced.The regular is extremely filling and nicely presented in takeaway containers. This is our go to chippy now. Staff are very efficient and friendly.

Travelled a bit out of my way to come here. Ordered large haddock, chips, peas, curry and a barm. If that was a large fish I dread to think what the small or medium are like (finger in pic for scale). Wafer thin and greasy too. Chips were obviously left over from dinner time as there was hardly anything but scraps, dry and hard. Almost makes me glad she forgot to put the barm that I paid 80p for in the bag as I couldn't have made a chip butty anyway as there was about 3 actual chips! All the rest were crisps! Waste of £11.05. Lesson learnt. Stick to what you know.

Stayed in a caravan on Cala Gran and decided to have fish and chips for our tea, rang John's before I set off to order two medium fish and also to ask if they took debit cards, both answers were yes, yes we take cards and yes it's not a problem to do the fish, when I got there the fish were draining nicely for me, just said who I was and ordered the chips and peas to go with the fish, got back to the caravan and had a lovely tea, well done to John's friary it was lovely and price was just right,

Food was nice and good service from the yonger lad, trying to serve a queue of customers and seemed to be running the place alone other than a woman stood at back door smokeing

I was also in the chippy on the 1 Oct I do not recall a lady from behind the counter screaming x always very gud service n very accommodating can’t do enuff for yah I did hear her say no puddings left just sold the last one Gt chippy x gt staff Keep up the gud work Very satisfied customer

The lights were on and the door wide open at John's Friary as two friends wanting a small portion of chips to share approached after dancing at the nearby Crown Ballroom... We didn't get two feet into the door before the woman behind the counter...

A well overdue chippy tea from let me quote the best chip shop in the North of England. It has been 20+ years since I have visited the John Friery Chip shop and it is still at top for fish and the price is reasonable...

I have tried everything within five mile radius, but John's is truly unbeatable. Consistent quality is hard to achieve in any fast food outlet, but somehow John's manage to achieve it. Fantastic!!

Food is good, but they got the order wrong, so now my kids have no chips with there tea and there not happy. Also not answering their phone to see if they can correct their mistake.

Second visit to the Friary and it was just as good as ever,its alway nice to find that the previous high standards have been maintained. Hope to see you again when Fleetwood play Accrington Stanley or may be before.

Definitely the best chippy in Fleetwood now, proper fresh chips everytime, proper potatoes, not vac packed part cooked rubbish. Keep up the good work guys :)

As always the friendly staff made us welcome. The fish was great crispy and large . The parking outside is handy . Best chippy in fleetwood.

Fish cooked to order. Crispy and tasty. Good friendly service. Lady serving fast and efficient. Classic peas and curry sauce. Chips slightly soggy. Overall very good though.

Without a doubt the best fish and chips that I have ever tasted. Everything was cooked fresh to order. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome whilst we were waiting for our food to be cooked by Carl (top man)....

My hubby n I found this chippy by accident and they were closing but made us feel welcome, they still made us great tasting cod n chips and it was really enjoyed thanks ladies x

Over the years I've visited many times, the quality and value for money is outstanding. Today's was the best, the fish was to die for!!

The best chips I've tasted for 20 years! The fish was good too and prices very reasonable, we did have to wait for our fish to be cooked but at least you know it's not been lying around for ages. If i was anywhere near the place again I would make a point of using this fantastic chippy.

Every time I have been for a take out fish and chips I have never been disappointed. With great prices and quick service I will always recommend this chippy!

Coming from East Midlands, our chippy do not understand the term Meat and Potatoes Pie or chip barm. Enjoyed both and chips to die for

This fish & chip shop has to be one of the best in Fleetwood if not the whole of Wyre and Fylde. The staff are very friendly and quick and the food it just awesome it's the best I've tasted in years 5 star service every time ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I use this chippy often the service is outstanding always with a smile. The fish and chips are excellent even my toddler eats all his fish from here. You can park right outside and are never waiting long no matter how big the queue.I asked if they do cheesy chips they didn't but they do now. I for one won't eat fish and chips from anywhere else xx

The fish was haddock has I asked for and very lightly battered. The chips were plentiful; crisp and dry, peas were mushy and two slices of bread & butter very fresh, total cost £5.50p who can complain. The shop was spotlessly clean and a few customers being served before me, always a good sign. Staff very pleasant, obliging and witty. There is always one which will be better but you'd need to travel further. Could do with a small restaurant but there we have it. I would go again with confidence and will do. Regards

Visited this place for fish and chips and it's disgusting. It's definitely not haddock and the chips smell like dirty dish cloths. Avoid like the plague. The manager is rude too!
