Another great meal at Coach and Horses Kingstown while charging the car at Carlisle Ionity, which is about 5 minutes walk away. Food at C& H was top quality and portions are fab. Come prepared lol! Service is always friendly and welcoming. Excellent value for money and a great range of drinks, including driver friendly options. Reservations for dining are recommended as it's very popular.

This restaurant gets plenty of good reviews so we must have just hit it on a bad night! On the plus side, the place is lovely. A warm cosy atmosphere perfect for a cold autumn evening. And some of the food was excellent, though some wasn't, and some was pretty poor. However what really let the place down was the service. The staff need to realise that customers are there for a nice evening out, and are spending a reasonable sum of money and they don't want to feel that the staff can't wait to get them out. At any establishment like this you would expect to be able to finish the meal off with a coffee, not to be told ( at 9.10pm), that the machine had been switched off, and that it was our fault because when asked "would you like any more drinks?", we had declined! We would have accepted a cup of Nescafe, but that wasn't available either. A few other things, like serving Gin & Lemonade instead of Tonic didn't help. We'll return, as it's a nice place, but the staff need either someone in charge or some more training, because on this occasion they let the restaurant down, unfortunately.

We happened upon this little gem on our way to Glendale Mobile park . Liked the welcoming inside, staff and the menu. So booked a table gor 6:30pm. Arriving promptly we found they had a lovely way of reserving our table (see photo).. I chose Med Chicken Curry from the Nights Specials curries (see photo) it came with every add on listed .. A good job I am a big lad . My companion hsd the Haddock , garden peas and chips with slices of lemon . It was huge and delicious and very tasty . There were several excellent beers on tap (see photo).. the beer i chose at random was well prepared and delicious. (Real Ale drinkers would enjoy here).. £4 a pint for each beer is a good price. One can immediately tell that the Landlords, Becki and Tom, take great delight in caring about their customers , their food and their beers. One could ask no more of this charming couple - a great Mein Hosts pair. After so many reviews I have written on Trip Advisor this Drovers Rest has come in the Top 3 visited around the world. I highly recommend it to my 6,500+ followers on here . Do NOT miss visiting and eating here if in the area . You will be delighted . As usual, I know no member of staff , and have received no benefits at all for my fair based review. Tom.

We’re regulars in the pub, we thought that we would check out the new menu! We didn’t wait long for food, was delicious. We overheard that the pub was going through some chef changes this didn’t affect our food it was the best soufflé I’ve had in a while!! Would highly recommend, lovely staff members!

The best coffee in Brampton! We love coming here for coffee and breakfast. Very friendly owner, Emma and her lovely baristas work hard to get your order just right. There are a great range of coffee, tea and home made cakes as well as savoury hot food. The place is often bustling with cosy chat, interesting art work on the walls (Emma has artist’s displays each month) and it’s also dog friendly too. Just a great place.

Atmospheric bar and restaurant. Wooden beams, felt like nothing had changed from a bygone age. Very comfortable and cosy. Staff very friendly and chatty. Plenty of choice on the menu and a specials board. Food was really good. Haggis as a starter was delicious. Good mix of locals and hotel guests with good vibes.

Attended a reunion with friends here, private dining on the terrace, the service was appalling, they had 3 large parties and obviously insufficient staff. The starter arrived some 25 minutes late, tepid soup, not very appetising, then a 55 minute wait for the mains, overcooked beef and lukewarm veg, no gravy, the a wait for sweet, sticky toffee pudding, can't go wrong with that, oh yes they could, pudding had sort of crust on it and was served with a miniscule portion of ice cream. All in all a huge disappointment and not what we expected, they really need to up their game.

Well kept secret! Although this hotel is in centre of town the restaurant is surprisingly quiet. Not frequented by many locals. The food here is excellent. Great menu, every course we had was delicious. Our party had beautiful cheese soufflés, seafood pappardelle, cod, and chicken mains, all well presented and tasty. Lovely desserts too. A couple of bottles of wine reasonably priced. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and would definitely make a return visit.

We’ve just returned from an incredible evening at the March Bank hotel. I booked a table for a family of five - including 2 fussy teenagers! Every plate went back clean. The service, the food and the whole experience were amazing. Seriously cannot fault it. Located in a beautifully decorated house, with great original art works it was a truly great meal hosted by a lovely family. Can’t wait to come back.

Lovely visit for a quick lunch with the dog. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food is tasty. Highly recommend the soup - homemade and delicious! Will definitely visit again
