The best restaurants serving British food in North West

This is my Fourth time visiting this place for lunch. Very disappointed with the amount of tables booked with no one sitting at them. Disappointed isn’t the word. We were going to do our shopping after lunch but not again. We have supported this family from when it started. But I think the time has come for a change. If you want to contact me you know me. Not very impressed with the Barn today. They have really let it go. It opened at 10am, we got there at 10.30am. It was freezing!!! Warmer outside!!! Ordered 2x toasted tea cake and coffees. It was cold and over cooked, butter frozen. How can you mess such an easy order up??? ☹️ The toilet had a full bin, come on. 😱

We stayed at The White Hart for 2 nights , the food was lovely. Breakfast set us up for the day. Everyone was friendly, the pub was welcoming and cozy. The room was lovely with amazing views. Great value.

Celebramos la vida en el pub el sábado por la tarde para mi difunto hermano. El propietario Wayne fue muy servicial desde la primera investigación hasta el evento real. Teníamos una zona del pub para nosotros. El personal del bar era amable y servicial a pesar de que los manteníamos ocupados a pesar de que tenían otros clientes para servir. El buffet que solicitamos era fresco y abundante , los rollos de embutido eran de los favoritos🙂. El pub y los baños estaban limpios y ordenados. Tuvimos una tarde encantadora recordando a mi hermano. Gracias a todos en The Raikes Hall

My mum and I visited here for afternoon tea. All of the staff were so polite and professional. It really made the difference and something that you don’t see so regularly in hospitality this side of the pandemic. All of the food was excellent and it was nice to be offered extra sandwiches too. We chose the gentleman’s option and it’s highly recommended. My only tiny bit of constructive criticism was the room was a bit tired in its decoration. Slightly faded glory.

Food was excellent and the staff were friendly. We went for lunch and we will return. Very good varied menu with plenty of choice

Don’t usually leave reviews, but my god the food I had was amazing. Ordered a takeaway hot lamb tikka on a chilli naan and it was incredible. So tasty and flavoursome. Think I’ve found my new favourite takeaway dish.

Best breakfast in bowness by far , very friendly and always welcoming. Very clean and food always served hot. Faultless give it a try. Would always return thank you Anka and team.

We arrived at Hatton Arms, hopefully to have food off sorts, walking in was dreadful, everybody stared at us, atmosphere awful, the staff behind bar were not helpful at all, no smiles, no eye contact no personality, we felt like we were intruding in a public house, , we should have walked, out their and then but decided give them all a second chance, that did not work!!!.. we shall not be returning, we live locally, and are very disappointed with SERVICE the the unwelcome feeling we all felt, as retired ladies, have been to Hatton Arms many times, we have gathered to say your staff need customer service training, also you need to address the Rooms set up!!!!!!! In all a dreadful experience!!!!!!

El personal es absolutamente súper amable , todos ellos y la gerente siempre es tan educada y agradable con todos sus clientes. La comida es siempre un lugar, disfruto del filete la mayoría de las visitas, pero el pescado y las patatas fritas son increíbles. Mis hijos y yo nos sentimos bienvenidos. Local boozer. Always have a couple of real ales on the go. Sport always on the telly, if that's your thing.

Came to the Back Bull hotel for an evening drink. The atmosphere was relaxing and the lady behind the bar was lovely. Plenty of seating within the pub and music was at a pleasant level. Will definitely go back for a visit. Would recommend.

I cannot agree with the reviewer who complained about the young staff, myself, my husband & mother in law visited here on bank holiday weekend & had a very positive experience, the menu was good, something for everyone including a few choices for me as a vegetarian. The staff were young & yes they were chatting to each other but we didn’t find it impacted the level of service at all. They took our order, the food arrived and our table was cleared all in a timely manner & the staff were friendly & smiley throughout!

Very quiet when I called in gets busier when they have entertainment on though not sure but think food is a weekend thing did stop but think it's back on again
