Went for my dad's wake, had a bit of a meat and potatoe pie and chips and a couple of Strongbows. Top service from staff.

Had a great meal here with my daughter last night. Food and service was quality

Had my mother in laws wake here on Wednesday the 17th July, the pub has had a very good overhaul and was the perfect place for the family to unwind , have a few beers without any issues , the bar staff where 100% the best I've chatted to in years , if my memory is correct! Laura from Wythenshawe is one of the best x if u pop in there ask her andout the 3 question mind reading 🤣🤣🤣 , we will be back very soon fir food and a few drinks ! Thank you

Visted pub today for a couple of drinks but was very disappointed ..beer that was pulled (carling ) was going to be served flat with no head on it ..did complain but girl behind the bar didnt seem to know what to do....i work in a bar and would be so embarrassed to serve a pint like that....for what you pay..will not be returning .

We hadn't booked but we got a great family table for an early dinner on a Friday evening. Really nice pub decor and cosy seating areas (we loved the Lowry paintings on the walls!). Great food options and all brought to us piping hot. Good portion sizes, tasty meals, and friendly service from all the staff. We'll be back!

Great pub with great service and a fantastic Sunday roast

Partner and I went for an evening meal due to our preferred choice of pub food were very busy, biggest mistake we've ever made, sorry we didn't go to the chippy instead. The food was dreadful, overpriced, felt like we had been mugged.

Management change means there’s very few options and it far too overpriced. Food was nice and so was service

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the manager and all the staff in the pub that yesterday did a amazing job of our brothers wake Would totally 100% recommend anyone to use this base for a event The buffet was perfect and even when we had a unexpected guest turn up and was vegan That was no trouble for them and they bought out food for that person at the last minute notice It made the whole process easier and we thank them all sincerely Andy and Debbie press 3rd April 24 x

Wot a breath of fresh air change…. Regular establishment for us and fantastic change.. Jamie couldn’t have done enough for us, your menu is spot on … fantastic change of food and such an improvement all round Can’t wait to come back

Tried the new menu. Great offers and value. The staff were really friendly. The food was wonderful. We will return. Defo worth a visit.

Just hired the upstairs function room for a relatives wake and happy to recommend this local venue. The staff were all so chilled and flexible with us, allowing us to come in the night before to set up, plus it's good you can change the room around and put things up on the walls etc. Good service and the bar manager really worked hard today. Thanks to everyone at the Ashley Arms

Seriously disappointed yesterday with the whole ordeal of Christmas dinner here. Priced at £65 a head which is bad enough but was literally in the pub for 4 hours... yes 4 hours was there for about 2 hours before 1st course of food came out wouldn't be as bad If the drinks were priced reasonably but they are also extortionate but when your there for 4 hours 2 of which with no food what choice have you got. I want to say all the staff who were there were great and really were working their hearts out. Seriously let down by being understaffed felt sorry for them but at the same time spending 4 hours in a pub for a meal on Christmas day when we had go get back and open presents with family really is unacceptable. Buying bottles of wine and being given 4 wine glasses for a group of 10 adults and the the rest gin glasses with food really really shoddy. The young blonde girl and the lad with tattoos really couldn't of done anymore for us like I said they were doing their best and were let down badly rushed of their feet on Christmas day like that not acceptable to be honest you don't deserve them. I would of just gone home if I was them. Starter basically freezer chicken goujons absolutely comical on a 65 pound menu. Main course was average the dessert was alright aswell to be fair nothing to write home about also giving a 3 year old a giant full sized Christmas dinner that most adults couldnt finish ridiculous. Won't ever be coming again.

Staff were very friendly , young girl brought the food was friendly too , you say what let it down , the steak was chewy not sure what the fries were , I thought it was overpriced at £20 for the poor quality . I have eaten there in the past it was ok , can't see us returning .

Bar service was ok good service was slow and didn't have items we ordered and had to cancel due to the delivery was running late food taken ages and batter was over cooked

Not happy. Party of 16. We were asked to move from our tables because apparently, they'd been booked by a private party. Nothing on the tables to suggest they'd been reserved. Ended up standing in the doorway. Dreadful management.

Went to a wake here after a funeral, the food put on was shocking and there wasn't enough for the amoung of people. Had to ask for napkins and cutlery because there weren't any out. No toilet rolls in toilets and staff only went out to get some when we were ready for leaving

Great local pub and within walking distance from home, great staff and good ale!! Will be back next time and try a meal.

Went in for a planned funeral wake, food was not enough by far for the numbers catered for ,asked if that was all we were getting, but were told that was it and no more would be brought out,2 small trays of sandwiches, 1 tray sausage rolls ,1 bowl of salad ,15-20 drumsticks,small bowl of pasta,few doritos and 1 dip bowl, hot food was 1x pie in a tray and 1 x bowl chips . For 40 people booked, which 39 people attended, the food was sufficient for probably 20 people,at best. Shocking service, no loo roll of handwash in ladies toilet ,staff were told,but nothing done regarding this.

I recently went to a funeral buffet here. My friend had paid £8.50 per head. There was not enough food for the number of people she had ordered for. Limited choice. Insipid food. Sandwich had very little filling in, it was cheap bread, with poor selection of fillings. Small portion of Indian snacks. Scones served with jam and butter. No cream?. No hot food. Basics Doritos. Could of put a better spread on myself for a fraction of the price.

Quite possibly the worst meal I've had in a pub. Firstly, few people in our family group got their first choice- no fish, no skinny fries, no steak, pretty much only leaving burger or pie as an option from the main menu. When the food arrived, the burgers didn't come with onion rings as stated on the menu. No mention of this when the burgers were served- we had to ask where they were and the only response was they didn't have any, no offer of a price reduction. The burgers were burnt, the chips were dreadful, like they'd been cooked days ago and reheated. The pie had minimal filling and the pastry was rock hard. If I'd cooked those meals at home, I'd be disappointed - to have paid full price for them was outrageous. .The tapas meal arrived 10 minutes after everybody else's and looked better but very greasy. The waitress was friendly but never asked how I meals were. Plates were not cleared until we were about to leave. Our table for 10 had been booked the day before for 6pm, so there is no excuse for not having food in when we were expected. As this was a family birthday celebration, it didn't feel appropriate to risk an awkward scene by complaining but we will never return and would not recommend.

Just called in the Astley Arms before going to a funeral I can't really comment on the food or atmosphere but on entering we were welcomed by the only Bar person on duty that afternoon they were very hospital since it was our first time the premises were very clean and spacious we would definitely visit again hopefully not for a funeral

All members of staff are extremely welcoming they make you feel like a regular food was great and great price only down fall is the price of the drinks as its a Robinsons pub so no fault to the manager the score is hi just because of the food and staff

Had our sons first birthday here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's looking to hire somewhere for a birthday or special occasion. Buffet options were good, staff were friendly and helpful and lots of space inside and outside too

Went for Tapas night, the food is spectacular! Very well presented and tastes amazing.

Excellent food and service - food took a while but we were told that there would be quite a wait after we ordered - as there was a wedding on upstairs and the kitchen was catering for the wedding group too. Really love that most meals come with veg or salad sides! I love my veggies so on top of the peas that came with my scampi, I also ordered a side of seasonal veg. Fab that that's an option! Makes a pub meal feel healthier too 😉 (though as far as pub meals go this was pretty healthy anyway! Everything fresh and food isn't greasy at all!) Chips were to die for! Big chunky fluffy chips. And could taste they were cooked fresh and in fresh oil. We all loved them. Lovely outdoor seating at the back. We went in after it started raining and indoors is lovely too! Would definitely be back to try more items on the menu... ❤️

Well lovely clean pub Pint carling pricey but a nice pint Food Well if you like burnt food then this is the place to eat Chips burnt Steak Well done more like cremated glad I asked for medium lol Mushrooms think they must have finely sliced us 1 each If chef made effort to ensure food was cooked and not burnt it would have probably a great meal but due to probably not caring about the food he serves it was all over done or burnt never have I seen such a over cooked fried egg on a mix grill as for my my steak and surf I got 4 small prawn I know food is not cheap to buy but so they can afford more than 4 prawn so safe to say we won't try another meal in this pub

Rubbish food cold staff unfriendly beer good paid a lot of money for buffet for about 30 people would not feed 15 curry bland rice cold I think the sandwiches were the hottest we will be asking for refund

Food good staff very nice and friendly the pub itself had been refurbished previously but as our party was upstairs made it difficult for myself and others to get to the toilets which are downstairs that was the only downfall nice and clean all areas

I didn't hate it, but it was cold, we waited AGES for our food whilst the staff appeared to be drinking at the bar! It was supposed to be a special occasion for an eighty seventh birthday and we all left really disappointed.

Disappointed with our visit. The food menu was very basic, with little to choose from. The food we received was a little overcooked and dry. The Atmosphere inside was none existent. And there was an undesirable smell where we were sat, smelt like a urinal.

Great pub, really great staff, although i didn't eat, the food that was coming out looked and smelled fantastic.

Ordered mince and onion pie got cheese pie sent back then something come that more like pudding than pie.

Long wait for meal. My fault that I didn't check the bill until I got home, and then found out out that I was charged for an extra that I didn't order, the garlic bread was priced at 2.50 but I was charged 2.95 !!! Very disappointed, as review's indicated that since refurbished things would be better. However, I don't agree, & would not recommend to anyone !!!!!

Was here with family for a wake. Lovely pub! Staff are friendly and so nice. The layout is great and pram friendly. Checked the menu and prices are fair. If we lived closer, we would definitely come again to try the food out

I've been here several times now, the food and service is usually really good. However, on this day they were very busy & short staffed. The table next to us ( the table of 7, review below ), ate all their meals. Then embarrassed themselves by kicking off with the young waitress, then the landlady. Insisting on a full refund. I'm all for if the food is rubbish AND YOU DON'T EAT IT, request a refund. But don't eat the whole meal then complain.

Customer friendly staff. Polite and apologised for lack of food that we ordered, but hey ho! these things happen. Wodreturn and recommend to friends

Good basic locals pub. Food is good. Looked like they were clearing away from a funeral wake the day we went in. Overall a good locals pub with decent food.

The meals served after await of approx. 1.5 hrs were absolutely terrible. 7 in our party all complained. Eventually we received a full refund. And left the premises. Never to return.

My grandchildren went for breakfast with Santa, although the food was really nice they got very little, Santa came in and spent less time with the kids than it took to take your coat off and they didn't get a present from him like it stated they would, we will definitely not be back and if your going to do it again next year i suggest you up your game

went to visit a few weeks ago on a thursday at 9pm went in side and barmaid says we are closing now so never went back since got no wish to, thought pubs were finding trading hard well this one cant be

Called in today and had a really gorgeous meal...Pie of the Day was Cheese and Onion which was excellent.I was too full for desert but my Husband had apple crumble and custard which again was fantastic...Very pleasant lady on the bar..Will be calling again.

Tried the Astley for first time on tuesday very nice pub , it was quiet but early weekday Kat the landlady was very welcoming and the food was well presented we tried the steak and the burger, was very nice . Kat kept us topped up with drinks , would recommend .

Attended a funeral this week. Buffet was the most inadequate thing I've ever seen. Was catered for 60 apparently but wouldn't have fed 10 children. Could tell the buffet was done one the cheap for top price. Beer and soft drinks overpriced.comple rip off. Will never be going back!

Excellent freshly cooked Sunday Dinner the beef was soooo delicious - told by the very friendly landlord that all the meats & veg are from local suppliers which we all felt was great. Local businesses supporting each other after 2 very tough years for pubs & restaurants. The staff and building are a credit to the whole team, we will be back. I would recommend booking a table early in the day as it gets very busy

We had 5 fab fresh Sunday beef dinners here everything tasted so good you could tell it was fresh and not microwave rubbish The whole place was a credit to the landlord and the whole team. All where friendly and professional even taking the time to joke around with the kids and made them feel so welcome All round excellent we will be back

We held a post funeral wake here, the buffet and selection of food was excellent, Doreen and her staff were all very helpful, they also catered for the vegetarians in the group, would recommend for any function

Wine prices are ridiculous you need to save up before coming here.

Friendly pub, good selection, good food

We finally tried this pub after numerous of occasions passing it whilst out and about! We wanted a proper pub lunch on a Sunday dinnertime and that's what we got. With having an 11 year old who is in between having a child's and adults meal, we were pleased to see they had sandwiches and baguettes. Myself and my son both decided on baguettes with a side portion of chips with my partner having a jacket potato. We weren't disappointed. Pleasantly surprised! Great service, great atomsphere with the added bonus of lit fires which on a cold November day made our day. Keep up the good work!

Lovely food but a little slow service staff shortage

A group of us come regularly to have a meal and drinks, every time the staff have been very friendly and accommodating, couldnt fault the food, everything we have ever had has been very good and excellent value. Really enjoyable pub.

We both had the mixed grill which was very good.And garlic bread with cheese.very pleased with the service and the food was spot on and cooked perfectly to our liking. Will definitely return soon. With a new menu it's definitely worth a visit
