Lovely pub food and Shana who served us was great and very professional. I had the salmon noodles and my husband had the barbecue chicken. Good portions and place was very clean.

Had a lovely evening at the Sheldon arms today Food was lovely and staff were so welcoming. Jack in particular is a credit to the business. So professional and so friendly.

One of the best carvery I have been served worked away alot and had a fair few awful carvery this place is definitely the best staff are also very friendly and approachable especially luke the manager will 100% be coming back

The carvery looked very good and tempting and the place was busy with others eating so presumably others think the same as always a good sign being busy.... unfortunately we were only there for a quick drink after visiting garden centre next door,,, would definitely come back to try the carvery though 👍

Lovely food as always but the service we get from Shana each time we visit is outstanding. Really takes her time and puts alot of care into serving your table and always takes time to chat with the kids. Goes the extra mile to ensure you have everything you need. We only visited a few times but my daughter looks out for her each time we come to say hi☺️

We booked a table because we heard it was always busy. The 4 of us ate off the main menu and all enjoyed our food. The food came out hot. Desserts were delicious. Server (Shana) was really nice, she helped us decide which dessert to choose. We will be returning!

Always the best atmosphere. The staff are attentive and always smiling. It's a busy place and they always do their best to keep it running as smooth as psooible. Food is delicious. Me and my best friend come here atleast twice a month in the afternoon and the service is always fantastic. We have a lovely waitress that always serves us called shana. We have ended uo having a really good relationship with her, buy you can see how much everyone enjoys her as she seems to get on with all the customers. Thanks so much hun

The best, freshest, tastiest Sunday roast carvery around. Busy busy so no food sits around at this carvery and service was really good and attentive and all smiles from Heather our server, so pleasant and although very busy, she kept her cool and was ace. Visited on Saturday and had the Stilton steak with the 20% off grilled menu offer—absolutely fantastic! The service from the young lady behind the bar was amazing, though I didn’t catch her name. Such a great pub with lovely, friendly staff. 100% recommend—keep up the great work, guys. I’ll definitely be returning!

Arrived at 9am on Sunday morning it says on website and outside open from 8am. Went in was empty but a lady hoovering. A male employee came over and I asked “is it to early to get a coffee” as I thought maybe not open as no customer in. He said do you want breakfast. I said no a coffee. He said “well how many of you” quite aggressively I said just me everyone else is asleep I just want a coffee. He said well I need to know how many of you. I said again it’s just me (place is 100% empty) he huffed. I said I just wanted to know if it’s too early to get a coffee. He said well I won’t be able to help later…I wanted a simple coffee. I said ok so it’s too early to do me a coffee he huffed and started complaining again. I walked across road to MacDonalds and got a coffee. Such a simple question and such an unpleasant and unnecessarily complicated response. He really spoiled what had been a lovely Sunday morning.

We went for the breakfast carvery. In the hour we sat to eat I could hear one waitress complaining to a colleague that things 'weren't her job' and then a woman who looked liked she'd rolled out of bed with last nights make up on stomping over to pile bacon on a plate then stand behind the bar like Peggy Mitchell! It's a nice pub and the food was nice. Think the staff need to have a word though 🤨

Sheldon arms is a local pub.To my home, they have recently just started doing evening.Carriers and breakfasts are too good to go.The quality of the food and the portion that they prepare for you is outstanding of the staff are very friendly.One of the young girls even helped me.Bring the food to my car.As it was too much to carry. I can't thank you all enough Please keep the standards as high as they are.

Always a good experience here good staff good food

Myself and my partner come here at least twice a week for food or just for drinks. The food is always served to an excellent standard and always well presented. The bar staff are always very friendly and in particular Leah stands out, she always goes out of her way to say hello and asks how we are. Very nice lady and a lovely place to visit

We have been contemplating visiting Sheldon Arms for a while after passing it so we decided to take the plunge. We reserved a table and arrived and the table still had pieces of food all over it. So I had to clean it myself. Not the best start but we stayed. The food was amazing and very tasty. The young staff members were polite and friendly. After finishing our deserts, we were told that we have 10 minutes to leave as they needed the table. I hadn't even finished my drink. Our total time at the table was only at 1 hour so I was a little annoyed we were being pushed out. We wouldn't go again.

Eaten here many times and can not fault it, consistent great service and Amazing food! Little on the pricier side for where it is however the food is worth it. Beer garden and kids play park outside as well as lots of different areas inside.

The cavery was disappointing the beef was like shoe leather the roast potatoes was that hard you could do damage if thrown and the yorkshire pudding were swimming in grease in the middle not a nice experience hardly ate anything

I had sirloin steak and my husband had a mix grill. Both meals were cooked to very high standards. The steak was tender and tasty and the whole meals were set out tastefully . Staff very friendly and helpful

Went for tea. On a positive staff were very welcoming, the pub/restaurant very clean. That's were the best bits end. I had the carvery sadly very let down by the food. Broccoli were like trees hard to cut, food was only warm and the restaurant was quite cold. Will I recommend?? Sadly not

This was a lovely place to spend some time with friends. We asked for a quiet table and was allocated table 2 which was ideal. The carvery was excellent, food piping hot and nicely presented with a smile. We will definitely be back in April.

I've been to the Sheldon Arms a few times and the service keeps getting better and better everytime I go. I went today with my friends and the carvery was fresh with a massive selection, one of my friends is vegan the advice from the staff was amazing and everyone went home with full bellies and happy hearts.

Saturday evening 1st February. Having booked we were seated but then waited after ordering well at least 60 mins to get meals. Fish was bone dry, I ate hardly any. Cheese and onion pie seemed like it had been microwaved far too long and the beans were tepid. The only redeeming thing was the Caesar salad. My sympathy to the server, she did her best to placate the delays. We asked if there were staffing issues but was assured that there wasn’t. I have been here many times before but have no inclination to return.

Cold food plastic in food nearly 2 hour hour wait

Can't rate it because I left. Can't believe they took scampi off the menu. No longer appears to be a veg only option for the carvery. May be wrong, just checked the menu. Thank heavens for Notcutts

Came yesterday at 1915 4 people the staff was lovely and very welcoming the lady who served me behind the bar was excellent. The food wasnt the best i do apologise i got a carvery the pork was very sweet and the pudding did not rise and veg very tuff Mix grill was ok Thank you

Been to the carvery breakfast here a number of times. The selection is fabulous with plenty of continental and English breakfast options. All the staff are attentive and do not rush you at all. I drink decaff tea, and staff were happy to supply me with as many teabags as I wanted to go with my breakfast.

The welcome was friendly, straight to our table. My grandson was welcomed to play. The service was exceptional, and getting a £10 birthday gift was just the icing on the cake!

During our stay at the hotel next door, we visited this establishment three times—for breakfast, a carvery, and a regular evening meal from the menu. Each experience exceeded our expectations. The breakfast selection was extensive, offering plenty of variety and impressive quality, especially given the reasonable price. The carvery and evening meal were equally tasty. We also appreciated the excellent selection of English beers. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, ensuring we felt welcome and well looked after. We left very satisfied after every meal and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended!

Lovely food and staff service next to none

A bit more pricey than I would expect but the food and service is very good. I think the Sunday roast could have a bit more sides or let you choose the sides you want.

We had a fabulous Christmas Day three course dinner. The food was fantastic especially the carvery. The staff were second to none. The guy in the red Christmas suit was particularly helpful and made sure everything was running smoothly. It was super organised. It was very busy but not chaos which has been our experience at venues on Christmas Day in the past. My grand daughter was given on a selection when leaving which was a lovely touch. Thankyou for a lovely afternoon and will definitely be going again next year.

Fabulous morning, food,service and atmosphere was great, our little elf heather was so helpful and smiling as were the whole team and we were a large family gathering! They made it a very happy morning, and deserve praise, the grandchildren we’re so relaxed and happy which is what we wanted and Santa was great and sang with the children, thankyou wonderful staff

Went for a carvery with 3 of my friends, food was nice. Was there just over an hour, felt pressured to leave as the abrupt man with the beard kept staring at us as if he wanted us to go. Left shortly after this. Waitresses were lovely and service was great.

Every time I come to the Sheldon arms I never have a bad word to say. You can tell witch chef is on with the presentation and quality of the food. Carl.
