Brilliant place for a night out. Very clean and tidy. Beer was terrific didn't have food but it looked good what I saw.

Getting hard to find decent untouched boozers/pubs these days. So if you like this type of pub you won't be disappointed. Very minor niggle? Bar staff not very friendly. But I guess that's par for the course these days. And the prices were good too!

One of the oldest pubs, great staff , great food , will always go back to this pub Huge area at back to catch the sun .

Went in this pub a few weeks ago as it's my new local just to be told I couldn't have a drink as the landlord thought I was drunk I explained to the landlord I had a disability and he said I don't care so my friend went in here by the way works in a pub and she said about my disability and basically he said I don't care he can't come in I think as a landlord it was disgusting behavior I understand they have a duty but putting me down because I have disability is disgusting my granddad normally goes in to be darts he won't be going back in I would just like everybody to know as I'm finding it difficult to think how he can get away with it bear in mind I was drinking in the pub the night before at the bar and he did not have a problem taking my money of me I will be taken this further

Friendly bar staff. Lovely clean pub. Very cheap food. £6.95 for burger and chips only served at the weekend. Very dog friendly. Doggy snacks and water bowls supplied

What a fantastic dog friendly pub, they have a dog station with water, bowls, towels and dog biscuits. They even have a dog food menu and doggy beer. Well worth a visit.

We love coming here. We usually come on a Saturday and the staff are so welcoming and accommodating. We are vegetarian and the food is always excellent. Last night's veggie pies and mash were delicious. Beer and wine very reasonably priced. Beer garden in the summer is a real sun trap. The toilets are always spotless too. There is nothing to dislike!

Historic traditional Pub which is full of character and comfortable at the same time. Nice, well sized function room and free car park. Thursday night when I visited, the quiz night was on and seemed really popular. Brilliant to see a Pub busy and people having a good time.

Had the steak pie shortcrust pastry not for me but it was lovely the bar staff and locals are all very friendly and there is even a we dog bar with water towels and treats for our dog we love this place and so close to where we stay when in Blackpool the dog (Gypsy) says we will definitely be back and we totally agree with her thank you to the staff and customers for making us so welcome

Absolutely love this place. Staff very friendly and atmosphere very conducive for a relaxed afternoon socialising with friends. Great background music whilst not being loud enough to be distracting. Very dog friendly too. Highly recommended.

Family meal was a good night thanks rakes hall pub .food was so tasty fresh and pudding cartmel sticky toffee pudding &custard 🍮 delicious we all enjoyed our food thanks to chef and thanks to landlord that was there when my partner fell very ill fell unconscious and was so helpful and the customer that took us to hospital as ambulance never came and to Gordon &Peter thanks all and be back in soon for quiz nite again without stopping the quiz next time we're there Thank-you so so much for the help food was amazing x

It's a beautiful historic building and the inside is warm and welcoming. (They're very dog friendly with treats, water and even towels for dirty dogs) It was my first visit with some friends and sadly the experience was let down by some very loud, abusive and aggressive locals who weren't challenged by the bar staff. Great that they serve a few real ales.

I terms of value for money, this place is hard to beat. Visited here for a Saturday lunch with 5 other family members when I was up visiting my parents and my sister. We had 2 fish finger sandwiches, 2 steak & ale pies, 2 goat curries and a portion of chips with 4 half-pints and 2 pints, all of which came in at around £55! The food was plentiful and tasty and served fairly quickly - the chips are big and chunky, crisp on the outside with fluffiness within. The goat curry, my choice, was good, nicely flavoured, cooked on the bone with well cooked rice. The fish finger sandwiches were on lovely soft bread, with a good helping of those chunky chips, a pot of tartar sauce and a salad garnish, both who had them enjoyed them. The pies were homemade, with crisp shortcrust pastry and a plentiful and tasty filling, served with chunky chips and peas - again enjoyed by both who had it. A great place to go for a nice meal that is most definitely VFM.

Went to the pub with friends. Ended up being accused by the landlord that I had tried to steal my close friend's wallet. When I tried to reason with him, he did not want to hear and continued to accuse me. To the point where I left the pub as it was uncomfortable. This was based on the accusations of a clearly drunk man. For some reason, he had taken to the idea that accusing customers of things he has no proof of is a good idea. Never experienced anything like this. Unprofessional and unsubstantiated I used to go regularly and will be going to other pubs from now on.

Near Stanley Park. Traditional pub. Bit of a gem. Bowling Green attached too with nice beer garden. Long history. Food served. Real ale offering - no local beers otherwise would have been 5*. Nice local customers.

We visited this pub as a trip down memory lane. The staff member that served us was very rude, he was backwards and forwards throughout our whole order, when I asked for the final thing he said ‘ f……hell’ i was so shocked! He said I could see how busy they were and I had every opportunity to let him know what I wanted! I felt so uncomfortable , wish I’d never visited!

This is our local that we find very inviting and very pleasant whether you sit inside or outside. The staff are very efficient and eager to please. Wayne the boss will go out of his way to help you with anything. It is also a dog friendly pub, which we both appreciate. Plenty of choice of beers and lagers, and as my wife is a wine drinker, Wayne makes sure there's always plenty of bottles of Malbec in. Good basic pub food, and in the summer the chef puts on a spectacular Ceasar salad. We haven't ourselves experienced the upstairs function room yet but we believe it is adequate for any event and includes a small dance floor. We recommend you give the Raikes a visit and you won't be disappointed!

My first time in raikes pub my husband and went for the pub Quiz the Quiz was excellent it was good fun . The pub was very friendly great Atmosphere aslo serves food . The pub has a beer garden and a bowling green car wait to go .

Country pub feel on the outskirts of town. First class, sensibly priced beer, excellent service and great atmosphere, plus it's dog friendly. Haven't eaten here but food looks great.

Well, what can I say? Other than thank you very very very much for your hospitality, professionalism, superb catering and wonderful bar staff! There's an extra special shout out to Wayne (who helped me organise the whole 'Do' from the middle of my sofa on the Isle of Wight). This was in a Pandemic and was to culminate in a fuel shortage thanks to selfish panic buyers which meant some people could not get there! Anyway - moving on. Then there was Kath I'm sure Wayne said it was Kath (I'm terrible with names! The only reason I remembered Wayne is because that's my husband's name too 😉) Well this lady was our fantastic barmaid (or should that be bar 'person'? ) who kept the bar running seamlessly and accommodated everyone. I've worked behind the bar and know it can be a thankless task. So praise where praise is due. She kept us updated and informed bringing the food out as required. The food - I cannot praise enough - thank you to the behind the scenes staff who did us so proud all fresh and all delicious! I can only give five ***** but double that for the people who helped to make our night so special! Thumbs up to the guys & gals at The Raikes Hall. Met up with some pf the guys i used to work with for a few beers. Great venue for our needs with food included.

We go here every week to the brilliant quiz night, we have food, which is either from the menu or weekly specials board all of which is cooked to perfection by the chef, it is a highlight of our week going to the Raikes, the staff are lovely, very helpful, nothing us to much trouble xx

We decided to give this place a go after a few friends had told us they have great food at a good price The pub itself is very traditional clean and a great atmosphere,the menu is not extensive but all you need with food for everyone Great portions and all served hot by friendly customer focused staff and all at a great price,what more can you ask for ?? well done guys we will be back again!1

Staff are very friendly, staff checked the toilets which were clean and tidy. Food very reasonable, had the chicken curry which was gorgeous , hubby had homemade chicken & ham pie which he loved. Was recommended a red wine that was amazing.

Home made soup, pea and ham was great a meal on its own. Sirloin steak was great and cooked perfectly and served with big fat chips. 8oz sirloin steak for under £9 and home made soup for £1.55 can't really go wrong.

It used to be a fantastic place, great staff, great customers with a wonderful atmosphere. Lovely function room upstairs with a dance floor at one time. Food was served everyday of good quality and a fair range. It was regularly busy with a wonderful atmosphere. My late partner ran the Raikes on a short term basis, I have been back twice since 2010, I am very sorry to admit I was not impressed

Where do I start? The pub has a gorgeous bowling bowling green, the function room is amazing and my friend was telling me she booked it for free! The food is out of this world, I particularly like the snack menu. Free biscuits for my dog who was made very welcome. Lovely atmosphere

The place is dog friendly which immediately gives me to like it. The outside area at the rear of the property is great and despite the rain we spent a couple of hours there. The staff were friendly and the beer was good.
