Bispham Kitchen in Blackpool

Visited on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed great service and food. Staff super friendly and food served quickly. Very extensive menu so there’s something for everyone. The dessert options are amazing also! Would highly recommend if you’re in the area.

We visited the bispham kitchen on bank holiday weekend. It wasn't very busy to be fair. You find your own table and pay at the counter. It had a small selection of wines, beers and spirits too. The cafe was clean and well presented, I liked the music that was playing in the background too. Lots of staff on hand to help and Prices were good. We ordered 2 small fish and chips with a slice of bread and butter for 2 portions of mushy peas, 2 cups of coffee and a dessert cake to share it came to £26.00. Can I just add the dessert display was mouth water with XL homemade cream cakes. We had no intention of ordering one but as I was waiting to be served at the counter I just had to purchase. I Ordered a vanilla slice to share and it tasted just as good as it looked.

The food was fantastic but the man in the takeaway was so infreindly , needs more people skills ( miserable)

Terrible food , way over priced, and very very oily . I would not recommend this place to anyone. The fish is sold as fresh catch of the day, this fish was not fresh & the chips were so greasy & cold!! So so many other establishments within the area that charge a more reasonable price. I will be doing a vlog on my public page regarding this establishment

Came here for a supper to the takeaway counter. The food was good and the pie (meat & potato) was very nice. The chips were disappointing as they were soft and under cooked, gravy was good too. However, the young guy behind the counter / range was absolutely miserable and bordering on rude. No please or thank you's and a totally ignorant attitude. If you are of an unfriendly nature, don't have a job serving the public. Do it with good manners and attitude, or don't do it at all !

I ask for a large fish pay for it and got a small fish the chip was hard I will not go there again

Bispham Kitchen is a well presented cafe / chippy with the kind of vibe you would expect to seen in a fancy restaurant. Plenty of drink options from fizzy drinks on draft and options for alcohol too. The menu is spread out so a good look through is advised unless you know what you want. Me and the missus went for the steak pudding chips peas and gravy , pudding was tasty and the chips cooked just right But the whole meal was warm and not hot. We were hungry so mopped it up anyways. Bigger than normal puddings. Kids had their fish and chips. Price wise reasonable !! Could have done with a few more chips as the position was a bit tight also just need to make sure the meals they bring out is at least piping hot and not Luke warm. There was a large option of cakes too if I was in the mood for a cake I would have had one they did look nice.

The best steak puddings ever!!!! Always go here when in Blackpool and always have the same thing. The pies and desserts are excellent too.

We always love coming here. Consistently good food and fast service. Fresh Fleetwood fish is hard to beat. Can be very busy during The Illuminations times but they have more staff and someone organising tables. Several vegetarian options and children's sized portions. Only down side is being too full to enjoy a cake! Oh well, have to come back just for an amazing cake another day!

Lovely place to eat. Food was delicious. My daughter and one year old granddaughter shared a tuna toastie and carrot cake. My granddaughter went mad for the toastie. My daughter said the coleslaw was one of the best she'd had. I had the cherry cheesecake. There is a lovely selection of homemade cakes and they are huge! Also a large selection of Wallings ice cream It was amazing. Staff lovely and friendly. Will definitely be going again.

No te dejes engañar por la afirmación fuera del edificio de que es el mejor chippy de Blackpool. La comida del restaurante era muy mediocre y el servicio no muy amable. Fui aquí hace muchos años y vendieron los mejores budines de carne que había probado, pero el que tuve recientemente era más que terrible. Sabía desagradable, barato y mal cocinado. La salsa que acompañaba era insípida y las patatas fritas me recordaban a las congeladas baratas. El otro plato pedido fue el Moby Dick - el pescado no estaba completamente cubierto de masa, por lo que el aceite había penetrado en el pescado que lo estropeó, de nuevo las patatas fritas no eran mucho. La rebanada de pan que la acompañaba tenía un poco de mantequilla y los bordes se habían secado como si hubiera estado expuesta al aire. Consideré presentar una queja, pero sentí que era más problema de lo que valía la pena debido al comportamiento general del personal del mostrador al hacer el pedido, era tarde en el día, así que sentí que no podían cerrar lo suficientemente rápido a pesar de que los clientes entraron después de nosotros. Amargamente decepcionante.

Absolutely overpriced £26 for cheese sandwich and cheese toasty and 2 teas, got order wrong first and had the cheek to ask 20 p for mayonnaise, and table opposite waited 40 mins for pie and chips.

Quiet thought for price brekky would be larger. Very quiet

We are visiting only a few times a year. How, every single time , without fail, staff is welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Food tasty, deserts excellent. As the third generation of clients, we can't recommend enough. Thank you to all the waiting and kitchen staff.

Had supper here after a day out riding up and down the seafront on the trams. A giant sized 'Moby dick' fish with chips rounded off the day nicely. A huge chunk of beautifully cooked cod coated in a crispy batter. What's not to like? The only reason for the lower star, was that we were the only people in the cafe - I can imagine it being quite different in the hustle and bustle of the high season. Note that the desserts are all home made - and had I been less stuffed, I would have been tempted by the generously filled Vanilla custard slice!

Food very good, restaurant excellent but for gods sake giving one sachet of ketchup with 3 meals is poor but what was more infuriating was when we asked for more we was told it's 20p a sachet..... Next time it will be Morrisons cafe, at least you get one sachet per meal there 😡😡

Visitamos Bispham Kitchens para el desayuno un par de veces durante la semana que estuvimos en Bispham. La comida es de excelente calidad y valor. Siempre pedí un desayuno de valor de dos artículos y bebida y siempre lo disfruté. Solo una queja y es que a menudo me daban un café lechoso en lugar del café de filtro anunciado. ¿No te molestó eso? Nunca dije nada. Si no te gusta el café lechoso, asegúrate de especificar el filtro.

Late lunch, haddock was very good chips also . Tartare sauce sachets chargeable and not very good . Curry sauce ok . But £2.90 for a pot of tea seemed expensive. Oh well 🙄

I called here at 12pm as I was in the area - ordered the small haddock & chips with curry and I wasn't disappointed - this is well enough if you are not starving enough for a full meal - delicious

Great quality local fish home cooked chips and mushy peas. A fantastic Carrot cake ( other deserts are available ). Fast service, good prices and friendly staff, what's not to like.

Just the best fish & chips, desserts and menu choice for every day eating out! This is a cosy, family friendly place, reasonably priced with lovely staff and fresh, quality food. We’ve been coming here for years whenever we’re in the Blackpool area.

Thank you so much for a fabulous breakfast on Saturday and a lovely lunch today (sunday) everything was so lovely , well cooked and tasty, we even bought cakes to take back to Manchester with us. We were very disappointed with our meals. The fish was all black inside and it was swimming in grease. There was a pool of fat on our plates. The batter was soggy. It was like a very cheap frozen fish. Chips not the best. We thought there was something wrong as we got our food very quickly. Don’t think a return visit is on the cards. We left a lot of food. Funnily enough no one came anywhere near to see if we were happy with the food. I think they knew it was horrible.

Large breakfast not very large, tasteless sausages.

We visited this restaurant on the way to a funeral , we all had a cooked breakfast paid 50. For the privilege it was I can honestly say the worse breakfast we have ever had , the grilled tomatoes just shown the grill and might as well have been fresh , the sausages also white not cooked enough, the rest was cold I wanted to complain at the time and take back but the other four of family said leave it as we down for funeral ! I never write reviews but I was very disappointed and we never had food before what was already a sad day !!! We all left full plates so sure you’d notice we wasn’t happy ! Avoid this place !!!!

Do not get any festive dish, the turkey was like chewing a piece of wood it was that dry, the mash was out of a packet and the veg was boiled to mush. I’ve had nice meals here before but not been back in years and it’s gone way downhill. Also, I asked if they did gluten free batter for a family member and was interrupted with a very rude NO before I finished my question. Won’t be going back and would definitely not recommend. I don’t usually write reviews but this whole experience was shocking. Of all the Chippys in Blackpool, dodge this one!

Fresh fish and chips with a lovely cup of tea. Clean seating area with quick service. Feels traditional, I imagine all seaside fish and chip restaurants were like this years ago.

We ate here last night, myself, and my 2 boys. It was the best Fish and Chips in Blackpool by far ! We were welcomed at the entrance by a Lady and Gentleman which was amazing ! Service was amazing ! We travelled all the way from Manchester just to see the lights and have Fish and Chips ! We were not disappointed ! My only criticism would be less Vimto cordial to water as it was way to sweet for kids !! Other than that spot ! Next time I will leave space for dessert 🍨 Well done guys ! Consistency is key 🔑

Food and drinks ok nothing special also nice display of cakes but little pricey. If you’re echo friendly and concerned about electricity usage this isn’t for you! Obviously when it gets dark you expect it to be well illuminated BUT every single light is on outside too even during the daytime even in summer! as is their other kitchens in cleveleys see for yourself bonkers. Yet they charge you 20p for a small sachet of tomato or brown sauce, want tea or coffee? Their count out the small sugar sachets two sachets isn’t two sugars either so your need to double up, now I realise costs have to be accounted for but it’s a bit rich when the owner is wasting so much electricity by having every single light on, and by the way if you find the music too loud which it was in the side room they won’t turn it down ‘owner set the volume we’re not allowed to turn it down’ I was told, some of the staff looked fed up too. Not the best experience overall

Had a couple of meals during a recent visit. Simple, straightforward, decent, value for money (especially the desserts).

Called in at Bispham Kitchen on a busy Saturday evening. I’ve had some of their amazing fish and chips from the takeaway side but wanted to sit in this time. We were quickly shown to a table in a very busy restaurant and perused a decent menu selection. Disappointment that there was only Haddock on the menu with no Cod. The food has to be ordered at the counter but is then brought to the table by a waitress. Why can’t they also take your order as each table is numbered? The food arrived quickly and the fish looked amazing, and tasted just as amazing. Chips were a little pale and mushy peas runny, but all in all it was very tasty and filling. There is a good selection of dessert that will make you lick your lips and want to try. Happy to recommend.

Excellent fish and chips. Nice cosy atmosphere. Lots of families eating fish and chips with bread and butter and mugs of tea and pints of beer. Right by the Bispham tram stop ideal to see the Blackpool illuminations by tram, have some fish and chips and head back by tram.

I went on sat 23rd Nov ordered 3 cones of chips and chips and gravy we sat down and when we got the food the chips were not cooked properly the potato was still hard won't be going the again

Great fish & chips. Service requires you to wait to order at a counter, then collect the drinks you've ordered by waiting at another till. Felt a bit school canteen ish... However... Food arrived VERY quickly, and what we had was very good.

Popped in this evening for a last-minute dinner. Received a warm welcome from the lovely ladies working there. The restaurant had a nice feel to it, and the food was great. Would definitely recommend!

Been going to this place for many many years now. Food always good with the exception of one time in autumn 2023 when the food was shockingly bad (both fish and chips). However, given the number of times going we thought we would give it another try and food has returned to the usual standard. Meal sizes have reduced quite a bit, but this ie the case with most places! One problem with this chippy has always been eating time - they are quick to start hinting for you to leave as soon as you have finished your last mouthful, over the last few years though, this has become worse. Yesterday's experience was awful. A group of 8 of us, and they started removing our plates and cups before we had all finished eating and drinking, then to top it off, they sent another family to take our place whilst we were still sat there. So we were forced out of our seats before ready, any debate over buying desserts was taken out of our hands and we had to try and grab the kids and all our belongings and sort at the main door between people coming in and out. This appalling level of customer service is the final straw for us going, which is disappointing after over a decade of going to the chippy.

Great fish and chips, they have remodelled since our last visit and some of the tables are a bit squashed together. Cakes were amazing as always. Was quiet when we arrived but started to get busy around 6pm

Lovely cafe opposite Bispham tram stop. Good friendly atmosphere , lots of choice on the menu , I had the steak pie and chips at £9.40 , plenty of tender steak in the pie and lots of tasty chips. Wasn't busy and the service was fast.i also had an apple tart which was very nice . Friendly staff as well. The cafe is the same as Cleveleys kitchen which I have been to many times and never been disappointed. Very much recommended

Great Fish and Chip Restaurant and a Great Home Made Steak Pudding. Only had the Fish and Chips once because I love the steak pudding. Do yourself a favour and TRY the pudding. YOU COULD DO A LOT WORSE.

Excellent family ran chippy. Lovely meet and greet, shown to our table, ordered haddock and chips that were cooked to perfection, ample curry sauce. Scampi was so moist and delicious, small appetite sausage and chips was also very good and value for money. Overall I could not fault the place. I didn’t need to buy any sauce, but those who moan about it take your own next time.

The staff couldn’t have been more miserable, it was like a chore to serve us. The small fish and chips was laughable, the regular was barely an adult portion. The curry sauces came in various sizes of gravy boats, the sausages were smart price sausages. Whilst the food was okay, the whole experience was ruined by the staff and portion sizes.

Excellent curry sauce went down hill from there. Every potion was so small. Mushy peas were very cold not warm. Cheapest sausage ever made. Pay 50 GBP then being ask to buy Tomato ketchup at 20p a shash. Compared to the Ball Room in Whitley Bay this is not worth a visit. Order was messed up 4 times before we could all eat. Poor very poor

Fish was nice and the chips were OK. Prawn cocktail was very large and was enjoyable.

Amazing steak puddings! Best ever. Fish and chips are excellent too. Busy in the summer but very quiet on weekday lunchtimes. Staff are always pleasant and food arrives quickly and piping hot. Amazing puddings and desserts, if you can fit one in!

Beware cash only. Food is excellent. Deserts look awesome, but never managed one yet. Staff are friendly and helpful, but they are busy at peak times. Very busy! we will be back!

A very popular fish and chip restaurant that offers plenty of non sea options including some amazing desserts. Fish and chips come in varying sizes and were superb and very fresh. Very well organised ordering system at the bar. You may have to queue to get in but it is worth it.
