The Washington in Blackpool

Looking for somewhere with a large party and a dog. Straight in on a Sunday, food fresh, quick, and hot. Recommend giving it a go!

We visit Blackpool normally twice a year and go in the Washington for Sunday Lunch quite often. It does pretty good value lunches which are filling and pretty tasty. I'm not a fan of most pubs beers as they are pretty poor generally speaking, but The Washington does have a few other beers to chose from which is nice. Green King own brand beers are pretty awful apart from Abbott Ale, which is ok and Abbott Reserve, but this is not available on draught. Abbott Ale, like a lot of other beers has had it's alcohol reduced which has done it no favours. Generally the pub is pretty good and the staff are friendly.

Was a quiet Thursday night but the two women on the bar Louisa and Kim I’m sure were the names were fantastic they made our night right too the end not laughed as much in a long time thank you so much made us feel part of the family nothing was too much hassle for either of them (Kim does a great Scottish accent too) 😂

So originally booked a table at counting house, arrived and they hadn't saved the table we booked 🙄 and very bad customer service. We walked out and phoned Washington, they saved us a table straight away so when we arrived 5 mins late it was ready for us. The staff are lovely and friendly and food was amazing too. From now on when visiting blackpool I'll know to give this place a visit 😊 Ended a negative with a positive.

Came here for tea last night after a day in Blackpool taking in the front.A stones throw away from Blackpool North Train Station we soon entered and ordered lasagne, fish & chips gammon and chips, and sirloin steak and chips.Food came out piping hot and well presented and the steak was cooked to perfection.They sell a wide range of lagers such as peroni and madri and an ale called Cunning Stunt which is made by a local Brewery called Fuzzy Duck based in Poulton which is very nice indeed

Very expensive, food discussing, butter frozen solid for the toast, won't be going back

We visit the Washington every time we come to blackpool drinks and food amazing staff go the extra mile to make sure you are well looked after can't recommend it highly enough Looking forward to many more visits its our go to place well done to all concerned with running the Washington See you all soon

Brilliant pub to Eat with plenty of choice and a brilliant breakfast and Sunday lunch. Not as expensive as weatherspoons with more choice and bigger/better meals

Been here a few times now the food is fantastic and the service is great. Would highly recommend. Took our mother out for lunch . She's got false teth and the food was cooked to perfection

Came in for food on Sunday and was pleased with the service! Molly and shae did a good job of catering for us when a couple of issues with the food arose, would deffo go back again

Had a breakfast sandwich, Coke and a coffee at lunch time today and thoroughly enjoyed it, made extra special by the lovely Louisa who couldn't do enough for us, very polite and courteous.

Food and the place was great good value for money but the lady with the tattoos was so rude to me and my family I won’t return with staff with that kind of attitude 3 stars are for your chef they did great ate and left such a shame

We visited The Washington Pub in Blackpool for a quick drink. The atmosphere was amazing with everyone having a great time so we decided to have another drink also order a meal. Fantastic value, great service, brilliant atmosphere, so pleased we decided to stop off for a quick drink or we would never have experienced this brilliant pub. We will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff and the manager (I believe he said his name is Stuart)

We came into the Washington today to meet a friend to have drinks in memory of a friend that has just passed with a family member one of your staff louisa came upto us and said in a rude manner why do we have to sit here where people are eating we drank our drinks and left. You lost 12 customers in one go because one rude member of staff this isn’t good for custom and I hope this doesn’t happen again

Went in for Rebellion weekend to watch bands and grab a meal

There with the family and seen Big Rick having a lovely Sunday lunch,big Yorkshire pudding with the dinner inside it and a couple of pints. Lovely

It was the weekend of the airshow. Punters coming thick and fast, the charity shield had just finished. Despite the united loss, I had one more dream that day. I dreamed that me (a Scouser) would be able to watch Exeter City vs. Rotherham United, on sky sport in a pub in Blackpool. After a brief enquiry, Keiran came over, as if sent from heaven itself. Armed with a remote control and a lovely little beard. He did not stumble when issues marred his path, he persisted with troubleshooting and made this Google reviewers day. My dream was realised. Only in America, eh?

I tell you what, This pub is amazing. 1. The service they are really nice and kind and fast at taking food orders and delivering it. 2. The music is absolutely awesome and the atmosphere is great. 3. Just come to the pub and trust me you will love it.

Fabulous seaside pub,great food and atmosphere. I was here during Rebellion punk festival, live bands playing ,it was busy but no problem getting served .1st Class service.

The Washy became our second home during this year's rebellion festival. We were very well looked after! Tasty beers and ales (try the Washington's!). Ate there every day, great food at reasonable prices. Lovely stuff! Friendly and nice to everyone despite of working very, very hard during the festival days and nights! They even organised their own mini punk rock festival for everyone who wouldn't or couldn't afford rebellion tickets!

Everytime we come to Blackpool, we love coming to the Washington for our food. We won't eat anywhere else. The bar staff are friendly and approachable, any issues, they sort it straight away. The atmosphere here is great. Highly recommended 🙂

I have been going to this pub since high school, the staff are amazing and lovely, the food is great, brilliant and quick service. erike haley is an excellent waitress always brings everything you need right on time.

Been here today for food, was not disappointed,had fish and chips, and hunters chicken. All food was piping hot and well cooked, portion size was just right. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, good luck to the team. Would highly recommend 😄😄😄😄😄

I have been to the Washingto twice now to watch a band and enjoy a drink and the company there, very pleasant welcoming and the staff are polite

We went in for food before having drinks in town, we got served by Kim, she was proper polite and funny we will defo visit on our next trip to Blackpool and recommend all our friends to go here

End up here on Saturday when we got lost in the rain. Made the trip to come back especially Sunday night. Best pub I've been in in years, felt instantly at ease. Service is amazing.

Grate pub for a stake with a very friendly atmosphere, the service here is always spot on every time bars games such as pool and slot machines, All in all good for drink at reasonable prices to.

Was very grubby looking and unswept carpets and paint flaking off walls 🧱 most of the tables mucky and 1 of the staff was cleaning some of the tables with same cloth 🤮 🤮 🤮

We had a lovely afternoon here today, the staff were very friendly and we had a bite to eat and was lovely and hot , but what impressed my husband and I was a member of staff I think her name is Louisa, what a Trojan , she never stopped, taking out plateful apon plateful of food , cleaning tables , serving behind the bar , and doing this by herself, and always with a smile on her face , I hope this doesn't go unnoticed by management as she really is a grafter .

Came for food on Friday food was spot on cheep meals and good service we was served by a lady called kim i think and she went above and beyond we got a free drink for the promotion for pub and for country but the only down fall was the other lady behind the bar was rude and me and my boyfriend was shocked at the language she used towards the other member of staff Im only giving the 5 star because even though i could see the girl was stressed she mananged the whole situation in a professional way it was my first time in this pub and i will return next time im here

Remains a good pub in Blackpool to come back to, which we do every time we are in Blackpool. Good price and quality ratio.

The fact of the delay in responding is relevant. But the food is great

Not 'Main Street' but a short enough walk if you fancy a great meal and a good drink. Sure it's a 'Green King Pub' but unlike London versions this is incredible value for money and the staff are way way way calmer. Honestly, best value for money in these parts.

Food ok , could do with a little more choice but you get what u pay for nice atmosphere friendly polite staff will visit again next time we are in town

Called in on Sunday with 5 friends, the two barmaids on duty looked after us very well nothing was to much trouble,Our meals were very nice and we will definitely come back

Sunday 19th May 2024 We visited this Blackpool real ale pub it was a friendly pub serving a grand choice of real ales good staff and mostly locals in this Sunday, and a pleasant time in here had drinking good hand pumped ale

We dined last night myself 4 children and 2 pregnant friends , now 6 out of 7 of us are sick ! We all ate chicken ! The only person who didn’t eat any chicken is fine thank fully ! One of our meals (steak) was very dry and overcooked so the lovely staff took it back and the chef said “how does a kid know it’s overcooked? “ he then sent a medium steak back which was raw and cold inside we have photos . We have also reported this to the local council food services because I am so poorly I cannot leave my bed ! Our children were sent home this morning for throwing up in class ! Our pregnant ladies are so poorly ! I hope no one else has to feel like this ever

One of the better pubs with decent grub

What a pub, great range of cask ales and the food is absolutely delicious, had the steak on Tuesday and had a burger on Wednesday. The steak was absolutely fit, and the burger wasn't your run of the mill McDonald's type burgers it was an actual steak burger and was really nice. Top marks to all the staff and the chef I shall definitely be back

The bar staff or the manger is nothing but rude who discriminates against children…. Told a family that children has to be out by half 9 so the the family left but he left other children in past half 9 but wanted this family out! When he was confronted about this he denied it but witnesses heard him just think he need to stop targeting certain children!!!

Came in for a quick couple of pints on Sunday whilst waiting for a train and was served by a pleasant lassie called Erika! Glasses could do with a renovate but except from that was a decent experience!

Such Friendly staff and great prices on food and drinks. I went out on a budget with my friend’s and I feel like I barely spent anything. We got the 2 meal’s for 10.99 and they were definitely better then I expected them to be. Ericka made us feel so welcome and helped us with anything we needed, she also wanted us to make sure we gave our thankyou to the chef’s Kieran and Tony as sometimes they can get forgotten about in the back. We will be going back soon rather than later.

We came in as a family, it was my son's 14th birthday and The Washington is always a good choice for food and we all just love it. Erika is extremely attentive, nothing is too much trouble, she's always smiling and happy to help. I highly recommend coming here for proper food and impeccable service. Love Ro.

Almost delicious, but pleasant and original, I thoroughly enjoyed it and was satisfied.

We like to call here quite often when we come to Blackpool for a few days. The food is somewhat good with good portions but sometimes it would be better if it was hotter. Staff are very obliging and welcoming.

Well situated in town and has been much the same inside for more than 30 years that I can remember. Typical large pub and good for the meet ups and lunches.

Visit Blackpool at least 5 times a year and always go into the Washington for food and drink which is always spot on .the staff are always happy and pleasant and can't do enough for you for. Highly recommended for food and drink
