This is a long overdue review for the perfect restaurant! I can’t fault the place or the food or the amazing staff :) you get to know them and their service and kindness is second to none having been so very well looked after by Ben, Charlotte, Daisy and Paddy in the last six months. We had a long leisurely afternoon graduation celebration meal last year and we often go for special occasions like a birthday. The food is amazing, so perfect to look at and it’s great getting the explanation per course! This restaurant has always accommodated different dietary arrangements and taken the time to understand and if required create a bespoke menu. Someone in our family requires this and with essentially a vegan/ veggie menu, this now offers a very rare and appreciated fine dining opportunity. The care and attention to offer this in addition to the set menus is over and above what most NE restaurants do in our experience. This is impressive given kitchen demands we see on telly programmes. We were there last weekend and had an amazing time. My daughter and husband always have 9 courses ( you can choose to do so on the day) but I can’t manage more than six. The portion sizes are decent and you certainly don’t leave hungry and we did take the petits fours home - nice next day with a cuppa. The calibre of food is easily on a par and often better than many of the Newcastle equivalents ( like Blackfriars, cafe 21) so it’s definitely worth crossing the millennium bridge to try. The views are also amazing from the top in the day and as the lights set and the bridge is lit in different colours. Perfect :) A little tip - if you sign up to Six emails then twice a year you get the opportunity to purchase vouchers and then you get twenty percent off the food. These usually have six months on so it’s a great way to enjoy Six and get a discount.

Was at Gateshead College for a meeting & popped into Greenhouse for lunch. Got a fabulous spiced lentil takeaway soup, complete with warm crusty roll, butter, knife and spoon all for £2.50. The soup portion size was excellent value. It was piping hot and super tasty & the warm roll was a fabulous touch, well done. More than I expected for a takeaway soup option. Highly recommend it. 🙂

We had a most enjoyable dining experience at Bewick's Restaurant on Saturday, 3rd October 2020. The food and service was excellent and every effort was made to keep customers safe without spoiling the atmosphere of this lovely location. We would recommend Bewick's Restaurant to our family and friends and will definitely go again next time we are up in Northumberland. Lesley & Ricardo Montisci

While my daughter shopped I popped in here for an oat milk latte and was served by a woman who to be honest looked like she didn’t want to be there. I paid for my drink and waited patiently, the lady who was making the drink said it was ready. I politely asked if it was the oat milk latte and the woman who had taken my order barked at me that’s not what you ordered. I explained I ordered an oat latte and she snapped at me, that’s not what you asked for with a very stern look. I explained I don’t drink milk and I wouldn’t have asked for anything other than what I ordered. The lady then demanded another 60p from me which I proceeded to pay. I could see the woman who was making the drink was rather embarrassed and said it was ok to me. I won’t be returning here to be spoken too like that and she needs to learn some manner and put a smile on her face. Extremely disappointed .

Unfortunately this became an evening when we stopped complaining as we felt sorry for the staff. They kept smiling and tried hard but there are only so many times when you can send food back because it is cold. The cauliflower main course had not been roasted and was the size of an accompaniment you would have alongside a full roast dinner … not the main item and certainly it shouldn’t be cold . Two had the sea bass but I am afraid this was also a small portion and only just warm. Desert was a Costco apple pie not quite the apple tarte tatin on the menu …. these are very different! See attached photo of tarte tatin

Another enjoyable visit to The Baltic today. We also had some lovely food in the cafe - much improved since our last visit. Trout bagel, tuna toasties, blondie and coffees were all lovely and fresh at very reasonable price. Great helpful and friendly staff and service in comfortable airy space. We look fwd to returning soon x

Stay away honestly it was absolutely disgusting, food was bland, very cheap ingredients, cold, the best thing about it was the corn on the cob, £42 for 2 meals and pop, absaslutly waste of money, i wouldn't throw this food into a wheelie bin, i wouldn't want to offend it, i now feel sick and my stomach is like a tumble dryer, please stay away honest review
