We had a most enjoyable dining experience at Bewick's Restaurant on Saturday, 3rd October 2020. The food and service was excellent and every effort was made to keep customers safe without spoiling the atmosphere of this lovely location. We would recommend Bewick's Restaurant to our family and friends and will definitely go again next time we are up in Northumberland. Lesley & Ricardo Montisci

When we read the review of the new coffee house we were so excited... esp with a former Michelin star chef! . Our first attempt to have coffee and cake was not great . Hard scones and stressed out front desk staff meant we couldn’t eat in so we did a take away. I threw half my hard scone away!We decided to give it a second chance as we thought maybe staff were just having a bad day and we were encouraged to come back for breakfast the next day. We arrived in anticipation only to be told the haddock, smoked salmon were out of stock. We then had scrambled eggs on soggy toast. The eggs were bland and looked liked they had come out of a microwave all clumped together ....I was so upset...I left mine and my partner ate his as he was starving!! The waitress didn’t no what to say apart from look apologetic. She didn’t even offer to tell the chef or offer any discount small .I do hope that this is read positively as I want a local place like this to thrive & want to come back . Hoping this is all just teething problems. However, the staff need to be supported with more training And need to communicate to the chef.

Comida decente a un precio bastante decente. Comedor limpio y bien presentado.

We ate there prior to the Steve Hackett concert. We had pre booked the Brassiere. The food was excellent. But what made the experience so special were the incredible staff. I can't praise them highly enough. they were so polite, friendly, and attentive. I will definitely be back. The concert was brilliant as well.

Another enjoyable visit to The Baltic today. We also had some lovely food in the cafe - much improved since our last visit. Trout bagel, tuna toasties, blondie and coffees were all lovely and fresh at very reasonable price. Great helpful and friendly staff and service in comfortable airy space. We look fwd to returning soon x

Never been here before for food but was not disappointed, my partner had the mushroom & garlic bake while I had the tandoori temptress burger with onion bhaji on top, both were very nice and will definitely be going back, staff very nice as well.

While my daughter shopped I popped in here for an oat milk latte and was served by a woman who to be honest looked like she didn’t want to be there. I paid for my drink and waited patiently, the lady who was making the drink said it was ready. I politely asked if it was the oat milk latte and the woman who had taken my order barked at me that’s not what you ordered. I explained I ordered an oat latte and she snapped at me, that’s not what you asked for with a very stern look. I explained I don’t drink milk and I wouldn’t have asked for anything other than what I ordered. The lady then demanded another 60p from me which I proceeded to pay. I could see the woman who was making the drink was rather embarrassed and said it was ok to me. I won’t be returning here to be spoken too like that and she needs to learn some manner and put a smile on her face. Extremely disappointed .
