My friends took me here for lunch and I just loved the elegant ambience; chandeliers ret al. I remember that the post-prandial tea and milk came in on an elegant silver service tray with delightful little teaspoons. As for the rest, I just recall being pleasantly overawed by the surroundings.

If you want a fab wedding venue then PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY unless you are quite happy in using a filthy unprofessional place. The canapés were an embarrassment to our guest they were something similar to what you can buy out of a packet.2 staff to serve full hall from the extortionate bar prices even though there was very very limited choice any well known brands only available from cans or bottles and served warm.Coldest day of year and no heating available through the whole top and bottom floors.Could not believe how dirty tables in bar were on arrival and the FILTHY TOILETS were absolutely disgusting no toilet roll and floors soaking wet.Itvis obvious owners have got no interest whatsoever once they have your money definitely needs new people to take over who want to offer fabulous days ONE GOOD THING TO MENTION IS THE WEDDING COORDINATOR WAS FAB but obviously all the building and managing of place is out of her control ( Nicky think she was called) hiring the use of a working man's social club for your venue would be 100% better than this place we have tried emailing manager several times but doesn't have the decency to reply . wedding day was only made special because of guests . As the bride's mother I actually feel embarrassed having the guests experiencing being in such a dirty venue The place is not a cheap option so PLEASE DON'T BE FOOLED FROM THE ADVERTISING PICTURES save your hard earned money and PLEASE PLEASE find somewhere different until owners realise they are failing in what they are trying to offer and let somebody else take over with lots of new ideas to bring to what could be a beautiful building

My daughter had her wedding here end of November and it was so DISAPPOINTING.On this particular day apparently the heating was broken and we were told on two occasions that they had a repair man on way to fix the problem so you can imagine how cold all of us were as it was on a very very cold day we did not get any apologies for this issue it was up to us to have to complain how cold the place was. The bar they have has very limited choice in lager, ale and spirit (they don't have any of your original brands ) only in cans which were warm.As the evening came the toilets ran out of toilet paper and was not refilled and they weren't the cleanest of toilets.THE HEATING DID NOT GET FIXED MEANING ALOT OF THE PHOTOS WERE OF PEOPLE WITH COATS ON !! I have tried emailing Wallsend Hall even just to be given an apology twice but didn't even have the decency to reply!! So I would definitely not recommend Wallsend Hall to use for your venue the photos they use to advertise is nothing what it is like in reality and after saving up for your special day I would look elsewhere as this place is more like a working man's social club. If the people that own the Hall invested abit more interest in what couples and their guests wanted to enjoy a great day I personally think it is time for the place to be handed over to someone who actually cares about couples big day. The staff just did not want to be there they all looked like they did not like the job they had THERE IS ONE THING THAT I NEED TO MENTION IS THAT NICKY (Think that was her name) WAS ABSOLUTELY FAB AT HER ROLE

not gonna lie although our wedding was lovely and went well the food was good and the staff on the day were fab and everyone had a fab time if your having your own wedding here i found the communication on the run up to the wedding was not good i had to chase up every phone call and paymemt i made as they dont really seem to fussed i was not a bridzila or to demanding but seem as if she was not really botherd how you wanted your wedding i had asked at all my guest were up stairs for my arrival due to some being older and disabled ( no access upstairs just a very large stair case ) she told them all to go back down and do how she wanted i had a speach perperd for our balloon release she stopped me and counted down from 3 ( 😡 ) so they need to improve contact between them selfs and the Costomer they never reply to text or calls when you leave message at one piont took me 3 weeks to get a reply about a large payment i made dont get me wrong the day was lovely and the bar staff dj were all wonderfull just need to listen more to what the bride/groom wants after all weddings are not cheap

Los precios eran exorbitantes. Nos estaban apresurando a abrir la comida a las 19: 15 cuando la fiesta comenzó a las 19: 00. La comida estaba bien, pero nada excepcional. Excellent night but only because of family and friends made it excellent. However the service was terrible. We were being rushed to open the food at 19:15 when the party started at 19:00!!! After explaining not everyone had turned up yet the owner tutted and shrugged her shoulders and walked away. She then came after us to rush the first dance and wasn’t happy when we said we were not ready. Our photographer even had to intervene with her. My husband was very annoyed he was unable to relax because she kept looking for us to ask if we were doing everything immediately she accused us of having more people there than we catered for. We didn’t!! She had hardly any bar staff on and she blamed us for having more people there. The toilets were filthy loads of water on the floor black puddles my dress is ruined from the floor. The men’s toilets had no soap and smelt so bad. The beer wasn’t good either. Even though we enjoyed our night and want to remember the good bits it was slightly spoilt because of the service we got on the evening and leading up to she lost our list of food, asked us to prove we paid the balance even though this was bank transferred after they provided the details! Honestly it’s a lovely venue to look at but I wouldn’t recommend it to others!!!

I would recommend that you spend your hard earned money elsewhere for your wedding. The customer service was unbearably painful. The owners were downright rude and as a paying customer you end up having to do most of the prep yourself. Staff on the day were friendly. Food was okay but nothing outstanding. Wedding was a great success but only because we did all the legwork ourselves. A shame really as with someone else in charge of the business that actually understands business and the importance of customer service wallsend Hall could become a wonderful venue. Unfortunately this is currently not the case.

We honestly can’t rave about this place enough! 10 weeks before our wedding we had an issue with the venue we had a long standing booking with and ended up having to cancel our wedding, with family and friends already committed to travelling we were obviously devastated. A random google search turned up Wallsend Hall and I remembered going there for a coffee once when it was a tea room but not realising they did weddings. A tearful phone call was made explaining our situation and Rosie and Peter stepped in to save the day! We honestly can’t thank they enough (and believe us, we’ve tried!) the service they provided was second to none. They were so accommodating of us and made sure that all the things we had booked for our original wedding could still take place and went above and beyond to cater for our guests (even preparing more vegetarian food as the veg curry was so delicious the meat eaters started eating it!). The hall is amazing and Rosie and Peter are so accommodating of couples putting their own stamp on it for the day, it really felt like our very own grand house. The food was delicious, we’ve had so many comments already about how nice the canapés, wedding breakfast and evening food were. The staff were amazing and so friendly, all going out of their way to speak to guests and make sure everything was ok for us. Wallsend Hall truly is a hidden gem, all of our guests fell in love with the place and we will forever be grateful to the team there for what they did to save our wedding. Thank you and the team for EVERYTHING!

The food is not worth the price you pay and was a massive let down at my nieces wedding. You are meant to get a wedding coordinator in with the package but end up doing all the work yourself, even down to booking ur own appointments to finalise everything. i hope the owners take the time to invest in these small changes as this venue could be the top venue in the north east if money was spent on these improvements!!!

We booked our wedding in 2016 when weddings were run by stately events. it changed hands back end of the year and the owners of the venue took over the wedding bookings. i booked a meeting 3 weeks prior to the wedding well in advance of date. before the meeting we’d been up to the grounds for a walk around and noticed that there was weeds and fag butts around the front and at the side of the venue and also empty plant pots. we emailed ahead of the meeting about this to raise our concerns about the presentation of the outside and were assured it was in hand. when we arrived for our meeting to finalise everything and run through the order of the day the weeds etc were still untouched! we waited around 10 minutes to be seen and walked into someone else’s wedding! once the owner finally came to greet us, we were taken to the office which was a bomb-site. sandwich crumbs and peas pudding on the desk, a huge pile of customer receipts and empty beer bottles. the owner was distracted all throughout the meeting with the wedding that was in full swing downstairs and kept on going in and out the room leaving us to wait. when we challenged the messy office and lack of attention she was giving us as paying clients, we were given a load of attitude and no empathy what so ever. the meeting ended with a sour taste in our mouth doubting that the big day would go ahead how we wanted it to the highest standards the day before was far worse!!!! we arrived to set the hall up with the finishing touches. the staff started to lay out the table cloths for the reception and almost every single one of them was stained! when we asked for clean new ones, the staff member tutted and gave us attitude and even suggested we keep them on as the centrepieces and crockery would hide the marks! the chairs in the ceremony room weren’t much better, they had huge black marks on quite a few of them. when we decided enough was enough, we spoke to the other owner who lost his temper very easily and started shouting in our faces which was very intimidating. he told us he was sick of us complaining about the presentation of the venue and the weeds etc outside and threatened to cancel the whole wedding! as he had got quite close in a female family members face she was extremely upset and shook up. when he left we spoke to his wife that assured us the wedding was still going ahead and that she’d see us tomorrow. on the day of the wedding there were a few things that could have went better; * we only got 45 minutes in the room for afternoon tea and were kicked out earlier than we should of. people were still eating. * the speeches, first dance and cake cutting were not announced * the food for the night time was put out an hour prior to being served and when it was time for food it was not announced. * the staff and owners were rude to the family member involved in the previous days events throughout the day. overall i think the potential of this venue is wasted! this could be a beautiful venue with a bit of TLC with a dose of better customer service. if ur thinking of booking look elsewhere. we only had a lovely wedding because of the work the bride groom and family put in to the musical theme and finishing touches. without these, it would have been a disaster.

If your looking for a warm, clean, well managed venue with good food, then don't book here! We recently hosted our daughters wedding here. The owners/managers were rude and unaccommodating. The night before the wedding we went to set up and found dirty chairs, food and grease marks all over table covers. Dirty carpets , cigarette butts and lipstick on some of the glasses which had been set for the day. It took me looking through several table covers and then ironing them to find 4clean ones. When we mentioned this to the owner, he stared screaming in my face and swearing at me. He then threatened to throw us all out and cancel the whole wedding. Were were told later by his wife (no appology). The plates would cover the marks on the tablecloths and " you can't expect us to clean the chairs after every wedding !" The venue on the day was freezing cold all the guests were shivering, when I asked for the heating to be put on I was given a tiny electric blow heater for the whole room. They were then overheard to say " I don't know what there problem is I'm not cold!" The afternoon tea was awful, cous cous sandwiches were served as a vegetarian option, the quiche was wet and the pork pie was disgusting. Two of the cups on our table had chips in them and my husband is still waiting for his second cup of coffee The evening Buffett wasn't any better with congealed rice , and hard dry nan breads to go with the chicken curry. The three bean chilli looked like it was out of a tin and was thick dry and tasted awful. There was no hot water in the ladies toilets, when we asked for more toilet roll it was put on the floor , the staff were pretty rude and unhelpful. Honestly please don't spend your hard earned money on this awful place , I is a dutiful building but sadly the new manager/owners have no idea what customer service is.

I have always wanted to visit Wallsend Hall but even though I live in the town had never been. I Visited here on Saturday 15th April with three friends for afternoon tea. My friend had booked via Facebook and when we arrived the booking wasn't in the book, luckily the man who took the booking was the man who couldn't find it, so he acknowledged his error and took us through to the dining room. The building (as expected) is stunning, unfortunately this was where it ended. The tea and coffee was unlimited but it was help yourself and the coffee was so weak it was see through in the coffee pot. There were no napkins on the tables so we had to ask for them, when the food came, there were no spoons for the shot glass desserts so we had to ask for them too. The selection of sandwiches tasted lovely but a couple of them hard crusts. The hot cross scone was lovely and warm but really dense and dry. The dessert element of the afternoon tea was horrendous. A Mr Kipling mini batten-burg cake, a shop bought, undercooked mini tart case filled with over whipped cream, a strawberry and a chocolate mini egg on top, mini chocolate sponge which was dry and topped with Nutella and a shot glass which was filled with over whipped cream and a faint hint lemon. A waitress asked how the food was, when I replied it was ok, she laughed and walked away. I don't think she knew how to handle an honest response. Wallsend Hall used to have a good reputation for Afternoon Tea before they closed to concentrate on weddings. Maybe they should go back to that.

I was a bit concerned after reading the reviews on here.i need not have worried . I visited for the evening do of a wedding. I found the venue very clean , staff friendly and very efficient in clearing away used glasses and plates. My partner had a concern about his pint ,returned this to the bar and this was changed without question. Some guests found it expensive , I didn't , 1 pint John Smith and medium glass red wine £7. Guests from the afternoon had said their food was lovely . On the evening there was hot meats ,gravy , lots bread and stotties along with potato wedges ,all which were tasty and served hot.The only downside was the DJ who seemed to have trouble blending from song playing to the next song but otherwise music was good , good variety for all ages

My son and his future wife booked this for their wedding day. Its a lovely place, the rooms aren't big but I think adequate for average requirements. The ceremony was perfect and the reception was a lovely set up. The evening reception was the only thing a lot of people thought was a let down. Bar service was taking 30 minutes to be served and mistakes were being made. The staff were friendly but service was very slow and having to wait for kegs to be put on and running out of vodka. Prices were extortionate. Almost £10 for a pint and a glass of wine. Was a beautiful wedding tho and everything went without a hitch. My son and his bride had a memorable day and that's all that matters.

Went to Wallsend Hall with friends for a night out in the run-up to Christmas. Greeted with a very nice drink, serenaded by a superb singer on the staircase (The Lady Sings) and then went thought to the dining room. Beautiful table settings and Christmas trees in Art Deco style. Could have done with some smaller implements to eat the prawn cocktail but the mushroom Wellington was delicious and served piping hot which must be quite difficult when serving all those people at once. More good music from The Lady Sings and then disco after the end of the meal. Unfortunately the ratio of men to women was about 10:1 so it was mainly women dancing, but what the heck. We enjoyed a good night out with friends, thank you Wallsend Hall.

This Vintage Glamour Night was a Christmas gift from a friend, loved dressing up and visiting this lovely building and surroundings, greeted to a nice cocktail on arrival , the place was very busy, great jazz singer live on the stairs, good start, then we were all ushered to our tables in the main function room. To our surprise, our prawn cocktails were already on the table, we waited a while till the soup was served to others then began to eat, what with? only 2 large dinner knives and forks at each serving? With difficulty we ate what was a dismal prawn cocktail, in a tiny wine glass, each only had 3 prawns!! No plate underneath, no brown bread fingers etc. After a while the main course arrived, 2 slices of turkey, 3 roast potatoes, tiny portion of stuffing and 1 pig in bacon, with a spoonful of gravy, only 2 dishes of veg to share between 10 people, There was no extra gravy, one lady went to ask for one to be told there was none, no cranberry sauce etc. The meal itself was only lukewarm and very bland in flavour. The dessert was OK but nothing special. Serving £6 bottles of Prosecco for £20 a bottle they were raking it in. I went to the bar 3 times to be charged 3 different prices for the same drinks! A crazy disco continued until midnight when I was glad to leave, I had to make on I had a good time as it was my friends gift, but this place needs a real shake up, on the service, presentation and food.

Really disappointed that they've stopped afternoon teas and Sunday lunches. Bought friend a gift voucher and when she rang to book she was told they no longer do them. Pretty annoying - I'm told they'll refund me but spoilt the gift experience. Seems the weddings are a priority. Let's hope they're not being a little shortsited as to what the community want??

This is the second attempt o have ;lunch at Wallsend Hall on a Monday. Both times I have checked the website and it clerarly states open today 11-00 - 5pm but on arrival ay 1pm the hall door was open bt the staff said they were closed as they had too many weddngs over the weekend and had no food left. All I can say is I am speechless at this very poor service and attitude. We had a lovely lunch at the Grand Hotel in Tynemouth and their afternoon teas looked delicious. Forget Wallsend Hall. It is totally unreliable.

As a party of 4 we shared two afternoon teas and two Georgian afternoon teas. The extra price of the latter could hardly be justified but all of the food was excellent quality and the waitresses were helpful even though it was sometimes hard to attract their attention. None of the cups, saucers and plates matched so this made it look amateurish, which was a shame because the service was really good.

They have a sign on the door saying they are closing at the end of May to concentrate on there catering side rather than the tea room. That's a shame it's a nice deliberately old fashioned place with a good standard of food. The staff are lovely too. You can still make it if you hurry.

We have a friend visiting from the USA and her aunt told her she must have High Tea while in England.....so we booked it here, as we had never been here before. The dining area had colourful yet modest decorations and classical music played from speakers behind the counter. Our food came a little while after we sat down. As one of us is a vegetarian (me) we told them on the phone when we booked. When the food came it included veggie friendly items (ham sandwich replaced with a veggie option)......I was impressed that they did not have to be reminded of the vegetarian thing (you'd be surprised how many placed need to be reminded). Everything tasted delicious, not a complaint about anything from any of us. The macaroons were especially yummy! The hostess (believe her name was Chelsey) was very attentive and the lovely manager (Tish I believe her name was) came over to see how we liked everything. All in all it was a great experience and we recommend you go to Wallsend Hall!!

The atmosphere was so relaxing with the sun streaming yhrough the big georgian windows iluminating the tea room. Great staff too will defiantly be returning.

My wife and I have visited Wallsend hall before but this was the first time we had tried one of the special teas.We booked ahead and chose the Georgian tea. This proved to be an inspired choice as the different items that turn an afternoon tea into Georgian tea make a great difference.Along with the usual tea time treats we had a bowl of kipper pate with crusty bread and a gin jelly with fresh raspberry, absolutely delicious.Tish and her girls make sure your visit goes well with attentive, but not pushy, service. If your looking for an afternoon tea with a difference try Wallsend hall.

I do enjoy visiting different establishments for afternoon tea and I always take my Mum and Sisters with me. We've travelled all over the North East visiting some lovely places and when Wallsend Hall turned up on a LivingSocial deal I decided to give it a try.Even though I'm based near Newcastle, I'd never heard of Wallsend Hall so I had to use my Sat Nav to find it! Oh my goodness, the surroundings are amazing and you can tell, as you drive up to the hall, the decor will be full of character. The Hall itself used to be an old hospital and this is evident by the size of the rooms. This latest visit was actually the this time we'd visited as we were so impressed with each visit. On this occasion we were seated near the window and the view out onto the garden was beautifully peaceful. The chintz china makes the experience all the more delightful and the food - warm cheese and fruit scones, sandwiches (we asked for no fish) desserts consisted of a fruit mousse, cake and brownie. Tea and coffee in plentiful amounts ensured our visit was once again thoroughly delightful.I would highly recommend a visit to Wallsend Hall, the ambiance and food are one of the best I've experienced.

There was also an eclair, mini victoria sponge, macaroon and gin and elderflower jelly. Lovely presentation of afternoon tea & the staff were really friendly & helpful, very knowledgeable about the history behind the 'afternoon tea'. We had The Georgian Afternoon Tea Experience & it is quite pricey at £31.95 for two or £16.95 for one but it was very well presented & served. The main problem with this venue is parking but it is set in lovely grounds once you get in & don't make the mistake we did of thinking you are driving into the hospital it is the same entrance, we went past it twice!

My daughter had a deal from "Social Living" and treated me to a Georgian Tea at Wallsend Hall. The deal was tea for two for £20, the full price was £32 and we would not have been happy paying that much! Our tea was brought to our table by the delightful young waitress who has a friendly way with customers without being intrusive. We looked with interest at what we later found out was potted beef...take my advice and skip the potted beef! It was hard, grey and dry and tasted much worse than those old fashioned jars of sandwich paste your grandma used to serve. The elderflower and gin jelly was delicious as was the rosewater jam. The scones however were absolutely rock hard and we had to send them back, they were inedible. The surroundings, a Georgian house on the outskirts of Wallsend, were quaint, even the cobwebs but the plastic flowers on the tables were rather naff and not in the least bit Georgian! All in all we had a pleasant but not overwhelming tea and the price, £20 for two is about right. £32 for two is definitely overpriced.

Good value for money, tasty food. Got the fish and chips, and the chips where big chunky home cooked ones, and everthing was cooked really well. Got curry and bread and butter on the side, only negative was that the butter was rock solid, so a bit hard to spread on my bread. Seems a popular place, as most tables where reserved, this was a sunday tho, and there was a carvery on, but they manged to give us a table still, its good that they still serve a massive menu along side the carvery, so you have alot of other options if you dont fancy a dinner. Staff our friendly and theres a nice beer garden out the back. Highly recomend!.

While my daughter shopped I popped in here for an oat milk latte and was served by a woman who to be honest looked like she didn’t want to be there. I paid for my drink and waited patiently, the lady who was making the drink said it was ready. I politely asked if it was the oat milk latte and the woman who had taken my order barked at me that’s not what you ordered. I explained I ordered an oat latte and she snapped at me, that’s not what you asked for with a very stern look. I explained I don’t drink milk and I wouldn’t have asked for anything other than what I ordered. The lady then demanded another 60p from me which I proceeded to pay. I could see the woman who was making the drink was rather embarrassed and said it was ok to me. I won’t be returning here to be spoken too like that and she needs to learn some manner and put a smile on her face. Extremely disappointed .
