Hotel room ok it had nice view and was clean and no smells. Problem with single bed too high and moved too easily. Beds are designed for tall person. Winter weight duvets it was August 2022!! The food in the evenings left a lot to be desired, being cooked was one of them. One got the feeling that there was a staff shortage and a "chef" being one. The staff were attentive and helpful . Good quality coffee and tea in the room. Surrounding area a bit of a building site

Me and my partner booked a night away, paid £125 for one night. When we arrived we had to wait 2 and a half hours for our room along with a lot of other people. While we were waiting and everyone was complaining, what we guessed was the head house keeper came to the reception and was explaining to a member of staff how there was sick everywhere upstairs. While another member of staff had started her shift the young lady that was on the reception began to tell her how bad her shift was because of everyone complaining about how long the room wait was. She made it quite obvious which people she was talking about. We finally arrived in our room to a blocked sink of dirty water, the bed not made properly and what looked like drink had been up the wall. We reported the sink to reception and they sent the handy man on site to sort it. When he arrived we explained how dirty our bedroom was and he began to tell us they have had agency staff on that’s why!! He also said the wall which looked like it had drink up it was off the paint apparently they made a dodgy job of it. He explained if we weren’t happy in our bedroom to ask if we could move, so we did. The lady at reception said she’s move us into a supreme bedroom which was nice, had a lovely view but we did notice there was about 6 spiders in the bedroom and the floor was disgusting this bits of food. When we woke up the next day there was a spider in the bed, we both had been bitten to death! I’m absolutely disgusted as we’ve stayed here a few times and never ever had a problem but this has put us off, we will not be returning!!!

I stayed here for one night to go and see Ed sheeran. I was bitten numerous times all over my legs during the night. I felt like I’d slept on the floor. The floor was disgusting, bits of old burgers, bacon, hair bobbles, hair and the grout in the bathroom was pink. That room hadn’t been cleaned properly in years. £129 for a room covered in bugs and an extremely uncomfortable bed. Never again stay clear

I was looking for specific view direct to the River. Found them on booking.com says Riverview. I also called the hotel to make sure they have got a room with Riverview and they made me pay about 15% extra claiming it’s a premium room. When arrived, the staff was not friendly at all. But more importantly the room was looking on the carpark with a very tiny view from the corner where u can barely see the river. I went to the reception but the staff was really argumentative and not interested. Also, the inside of the hotel is old. The breakfast comes in a small paperback to the room has few cold stuff like small yogurt, Mosley, croissant. This was not made clear on website or when called. Was expecting a proper breakfast setting in a restaurant and can order hot food. I’d never go back. The Hilton is few meters away and 100% better services and facilities

We arrived after a long, arduous difficult 6 hour drive....tired, fed up and hungry! It could have gone very badly in that frame of mind but!!!! The staff at Jurys Inn Quayside are gems! They were smiley, positive and welcoming even though parking was challenging on a busy Friday evening....it was resolved and the friendliness of our Gateshead staff shone through! A special thankyou to Andrea and her colleagues on the bar who had the power to set our visit on the good or bad path! Andrea was lovely and her friend in the kitchen ensured we were fed and watered making us welcome and at ease. We were then set. Andrea probably does not even know the difference she made to us, but it coloured our entire stay with positivity! So a huge thankyou! Oh and just the cherry on the cake - our parking fee was made complementary after the minor hiccup at the beginning! Super Well Done Quayside thankyou!!!!

Booked a superior room through booking.com with early check in and late check out. Arrived at 4pm for our early check in from 3 and they had to check if the room was ready, it just was. Got upstairs and hadn't been in the room 15mins when someone comes barging in and dumps water and biscuits, obviously forgotten when getting the room ready. Room was freezing!tried to put the heating on but the wall panel was not working. There was a small blow heater-which was not pat saftey tested. This barely took the edge off. There was a severe draft coming in through the window and the curtains didn't reach the wall to try and block it out. Called down to reception to try and get an extra duvet or blanket and the person I spoke to was rude and huffy. They did bring an extra duvet in the end. Beds were comfy and breakfast was really good. Although we went to use our Costa vouchers recieved when we checked in to find the machine broken. When packing up before our 2pm late check out about 1130 another housekeeper comes once again barging into the room, sees us and leaves without saying anything-even when there was a do not disturbsign on the door. When checking out advised the receptionist about this and was told they would have a word with the receptionist who I spoke to the night before but the housekeeping was outsourced so not alot could be done. Feel entirely let down when paying for a superior room to not even be able to get a basic warm private room!

Decided to spend the night in the city after a special meal. Got an exceptional price on a room. Extremely comfortable ,clean room on the quiet side of the Quayside. Easy access to Newcastle City Centre. Next to the Baltic and the Sage. Got parking onsite although spaces are limited. Had a decent breakfast. My only criticism was that drinks in the bar are expensive. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again rather than taxi home.

Arrived to discover that I could not park at the hotel as they have very little parking and what they do have was full. I asked at reception and I was advised in a very robotic none caring way that parking was available at the following car parks at a cost, this explanation was given by the young lady marking on a map and placing it on the counter. Given that I am not familiar with the area this tiny map had me totally confused which got my stay off to a irritating start Found the car park up the road then carried my luggage back down the road to then wait in a queue of people checking in. I had booked a superior package room on a low floor ( room was certainly not superior). Friends that booked “any room” for less cost after me were on a lower floor with a much bigger room???? My room was clean and basic Bathroom again clean basic and TINY. After a evening out I arrived back and found the room cold ( turning the thermostat up made no difference) All night I could hear a humming noise which came from a cupboard next to my room which was none stop coupled with being able to hear guests in the corridor early hours of the morning made me wish for the daylight so I could have a shower in the ridiculously small shower cubicle and Go Home. On the plus side Bed was comfortable Tea/ coffee and kettle were available in the room as well as a bottle of water I would not stay again unless it was a last resort.

Starting out I have no complaints about the rooms, I had a good size 3 person room with a double and single bed and it was clean and perfectly serviceable. Standard business travel faire. The catering however is a different matter. The main restaurant (which is not large to begin with) was closed for private dining and we were directed to the bar which was not large, nor did it have many particularly suitable tables for eating. I elected to have dinner in my room to which I was told there was a £5 charge. In my experience this is excessive to start with, and especially unreasonable when they have failed to provide a decent place to eat, a reasonable alternative when the restaurant is closed would be to waive this fee. The food was ordered and on 2 occasions during the wait I was contacted to tell me that they didn't have any of the dessert left, and nor did they have any of the second order they took. So by this time I'm onto my 3rd choice of dessert, eating in my room because there's nowhere decent to sit and eat like a civilised person, being charged £5 extra for the privilege, and when the dinner arrives (fish and chips) the picture speaks for itself. Small, extremely overcooked, and largely cold (probably due to them messing the dessert order up twice) with grease on the plate. The sum total for this abomination was £33. From where I was I could have driven to the coast, had a slap up fish and chips, and driven back for less money. For the rest of the trip I walked up to the Hilton further down the same road. There I received 3 courses for £22 and of a significantly higher quality in all areas. If you find yourself in this hotel I suggest you do the same.Breakfasts were slightly better, being a buffet at least the portion sizes were not an issue and it wasn't terrible though the eggs weren't always cooked thoroughly. The biggest issue at breakfast is that the staff don't clear tables fast enough for how small the room is, leading to people not knowing which tables are vacated but dirty and which are still in use but the customer is at the buffet. All in all this ends up being a bit of a shambles until someone generously invites you to join their table. By all means the rooms here are decent enough, but nothing special to suggest you should come here knowing you are going to have to make alternative arrangements for dinner.

Comfortable room, especially the bed with nice linens, although our booking of a river view didn't go ahead as the only river view room available was adjacent to a plant room so had to be rejected on account of the noise. Breakfast was bedlam, no tables available and when we did get one, it was a case of clear it yourself as waiting would have been too long for this to happen, Great selection of breakfast foods once seated, lots of alternatives to switch to rather than wait for top ups, we did share a knife too. Room lacked finishing touch of lamp, therefore lighting was either bedside or full on, and second bed in room was a nuisance, until we realised how easy it was to push aside to regain floor space. The staff were great, always happy to help with a smile, and to be honest they deserve medals for this as demands on them outweighed what should be expected, especially at breakfast. Despite the issues this was a great stay, all down to the people and the calming influence of leaving and returning always involved a short stroll beside the wonderful Tyne and a crossing of the Millennium Bridge.

Eventually arrived after at South Shore Road after an arduous five hour journey, to find there were no spaces available in the hotel car park and had to park out on the street and move the car before 08.00 the following morning.Notwithstanding that, the welcome was good at 20.00 and even though they were full, I was given a room with a spectacular river view on the fourth floor. The room was clean and tidy, though one of the wall sockets was loose, but the whole great room.Went to the restaurant for dinner and ordered a steak, which unfortunately was overcooked, but following a conversation with the waiter and the manager, I was provided with 50% off of the total bill. Pity that the groups standard for steak cooking is to chargrill the outside which makes the steak tough :-(Breakfast the following morning was good and set me up for the long day ahead. Went out for the evening and came back after drinks in Newcastle. Although I was a little worse for wear, nothing would prepare me for the fact that there were doormen on the hotel doors, one of which was very rude and wouldn't let us in despite our names being on the list. I tried to find my key in my purse, and asked him if I could empty my cards on the table to look for it, he refused point blank despite seeing I had lots of receipts money etc to look through. One comes to expect certain things from midrange business hotels. Comfy bed, minimalist rooms, luscious shower and an appalling restaurant. It is the norm, they get you in to stay with glossy brochures and flash celebrity TV adds, give you a goodnight guarantee and a stomach bug. Not here!I do not have the vocabulary to adequately describe my joyful surprise when the food arrived. Never mind the friendly and helpful waiters. Ignore the picturesque view over the river. The good! The glorious food. No it's not Michelin, not even rosette. But this is not fine dining it's a midrange business hotel. The food perfectly live up to the challenge of slightly spoil the guest after a hard day away from home. I choose the fixed price 3 course menu as to have less divisions to make. Did not expected much for 20 quid. First the pork terrine, expecting a miniature yelly-fied piece of braun, my first surprise of the evening was a gorgeous well executed terrine, perfectly balanced in taste, structure and presentation. I knew I was in for a treat. I was. Not going to carry on about the sea bass nor the eaton mess but want to say again. No it was not Michelin, but boy oh boy. It certainly wasn't midrange business hotel either. Well done Jury's Inn. I'll be back!!

Managed to book as part of their anniversary offer. Value was probably the best I have ever had for a decent room and I travel a lot !It`s location is brilliant and has some safe parking for £6.50 a day.Room and staff were perfect but we didn`t eat there as we wanted to get around and try the local food etc.Would happily pay more and stay again!

We were staying at another hotel but wanted somewhere nearby for a meal for a Birthday treat. We were given a river view table and the service was excellent as was the food.

I have recently stayed at the hotel, this was my second stay-on both occasions all my needs was met with efficiency, everything runs smoothly, bedrooms comfy, food was great and staff very polite and friendly, as mentioned this was my second stay stay and above are the reasons why I will be staying again in the near future, many thanks to all!

Jurys is a popular Newcastle Hotel with a particularly vibrant bar. However beware on the weekend of a Sunderland home game because it is frequented by the Irish branch of their supporters club.

The menu was wrong also after we ordered the food arrived at a charge of £4.50 no problem we then had a room call demanding we come to reception and pay immediately I could not believe my ears I offered my details over phone no use I had to get dressed and go to reception to pay this is the poorest u have ever been treated in a hotel please avoid this jury's inn brand appalling service Later that evening we required

Stayed here august 2012 for 3 nights. Arrived on a Thursday, group of 4 females in our late 20s. We booked through late rooms and got a good deal that included breakfast. Check in was ok, we were asked if we waited to be put on the floor with all the hen and stags. One of our group was pregnant so we decided to go for a quiet floor! We were then informed that we had to pay a 100 pound security deposit per room! We were not informed of this before we arrived. We were assured it would refunded on check out providing room was ok. rooms are nice, we had a Tyne view. 2 double beds, tv. Breakfast is a buffet style, mixture of full English and continental which was good. We ate in the hotel bar a few times. Sandwiches were good value and saved a walk into town. We did walk to the quayside over the bridge and it took us about 10 minutes. Fine I you haven't got your heels on! The manager on duty was vey reluctant to call us a taxi so we felt we didn't have much choice! Take your room card with you when you go out late because you need it to get in sometimes. The security guard on the door is lovely though. Overall we had a great stay and the jury's inn was an ideal base. One thing to note is that the car park is quite small considering the number of guests. Because we arrived on a Thursday we had no trouble getting a space. However by the Friday afternoon it was packed. It's 5 pound a day an

Booked through Booking.com on a room only basis. Arrrived at the Hotel at around 3.45 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon thinking we wouldn't have a problem parking. The tiny Hotel car park was full. As was the Baltic next door. Spoke to a Gateshead Enforcement Parking Attendant who recommended that we leave the car elsewhere and return at 6 p.m. and leave the car on double yellows in the street outside Hotel as they don't return to duty until 6 a.m. Monday morning. So unable to have a glass of wine until after all the car shunting around was completed!!! Asked for a river view, however, none available which was a pity. Hotel really is an upmarket Travellodge.Room was clean but basic. Terrible lighting in the bathroom. The actual location of the Hotel is great - would be better to travel to it on foot!!!

We stayed here as a last minute booking for a family of 5. After failing to make a booking on the website I phoned the hotel who did everything to get me the best rate and accomodate my children. I got an overnight stay for £39 absolute bargain I would hav paid the full price. The staff were superb and friendly and were great with the kids especially my 1 year old. We ate in the restaurant which was reasonably priced with all of us having 3 courses with drinks and champagne for less than £100 and the food was exceptional.the room was spacious and they made sure we had everything we needed. All in all I cannot find a single fault with our stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
