The best restaurants serving British food in London

What a wonderful lunch we had at Clarendon's Hotel Meridien Restaurant. The Hotel is led by legendary Ken Milton who has been there for more than 30 years welcoming guests and tailoring his approach whenever needed. We enjoyed a tasty Chicken and Apricot Terrine followed by a delicious Lamb Shoulder Pie which was the star of the meal as you could really taste the quality of the lamb meat. It was all accompained with a refreshing glass of Passerina white wine and Isabelle looked after our table with impeccable service.

Tuvimos una excelente comida, el bistec fue perfecto, el vino excelente y el servicio amable. Definitivamente lo recomendaría.

I booked for my husband and I to stay at the hotel for the rugby weekend as a special treat for his 50th birthday. We had a fantastic meal in the restaurant, we were overwhelmed by how much we were looked after. Aran and his team were fabulous, especially Aran, he really went all out to make our night really special, and we can't thank him enough. We look forward to our next visit.

Necesitaba un bocadillo antes del concierto, así que opté por algunos chips de aquí. El lugar se veía bonito y limpio y la comida cocinada a la orden. El personal se encontró amable y el chip, las fichas adecuadas, no esas cosas ásperas llamadas papas fritas. Caliente, cocinado largo y tamaño de porción ok. Vale la pena una visita antes / después del concierto para seguir jugando.

Estaba dispuesto a probar este lugar en Hampstead a pesar de las críticas no tan positivas, pero estaba igualmente decepcionado. El servicio fue genial y el chocolate caliente de avellanas inicialmente tenía un buen sabor a nuez, pero definitivamente no valió la pena lo que se pagó. Si lo tuyo es el chocolate caliente, hay muchos otros lugares auténticos en la calle principal.

Take a picnic, no toilets available no where to wash your hands before you eat, ice cream prices are shocking almost a fiver for a double scoop

Como no come carne, elegí un burrito vegetariano. Después de unos bocados, me encontré con pequeños trozos de tocino, a pesar del hecho de que mi pedido estaba claramente etiquetado VG. El aguacate aplastado en las tostadas que posteriormente se me ofreció "en la casa" estaba muy sobresalado. No voy a volver.

We called in for some drinks after having dinner nearby and the atmosphere was buzzing. We sat upstairs in the bar area but there is an attractive lower garden that looked very inviting with its lights and heaters. We drank several bottles of wine and soaked up the atmosphere. When next in the area I would very happily visit again!

Came to your restaurant on for a Sunday roast. I ordered chicken and got it raw and bleeding... After getting it taken back due to the state it was in, I waited over 25mins got a new one. I then got a tiny section of just the breast, 2 potatoes a tiny amount of carots, no gravey but weird mustard mesh. I cannot believe that this tiny portion of whatever was clearly left in the kitchen, cost me £35. No offer of a discount for the raw food or the huge wait or for the insanely small plate I got in comparison to my friends. The waitress didn't come and check on us, and I had to keep grabbing someone's attention to get drinks ordered. I am incredibly disappointed by this service and the awful experience I received considering the cost I had to pay for my food! Gutted and wouldn't recommend!

Wings London as the name suggests specialises in chicken wings. And with five flavours to choose from, you'll certainly manage to get your fix, while mixing things up with strips and wraps, if you're in and around the area. The restaurant itself is aesthetically pleasing, ultra clean, and very welcoming from the outside. As for their menu, then it's been kept simple enough, with everything made to fit on a single sheet. But, what makes this place stand out from the crowd is that they offer diners the choice of having their chicken wings, strips and wraps either fried or grilled. Juxtapose all that to the five marinations available and, according to our maths, that makes at least 30 different combos to try (that's not including the vegan options). With hardly any other Halal restaurants on the long stretch of Boston Road, Wings London is certainly worth a visit if you're in the area. Amazing place to go to..... dangerously delishous! Took my wife here to help with pregnancy cravings and she absolutely loved it!

When this Fish & Chip shop reopened about 2 years ago under new management, freshly revamped & called Hooked it all looked very promising ! The shop was clean & inviting & the cod & chips here were nice, not wonderful but miles better than the old Fish & Chip shop Sea Lion which was awful. Now I'm sorry to say it has deteriorated badly. I went in tonight just for beef & onion pie & chips and the place is dirty looking counters and the meat on the donar kebab spike looked disgusting like it had been there all week ! The pie was ok but you can't really ruin that as it's just heated in its pack, however the chips were horrible greasy and overcooked !! What has gone on here ! Such a shame as it's my local but I won't come here again ! Broadway Fish & Chip ShopBexleyheath by far & away best fish & chip shop in area, lovely tasting cod & chips, further for me but well worth it !

I booked a table for the 03 February at 18:00 for a special occasion for my wife and I which they confirmed by when we arrived it was closed and we hadn’t been informed and couldn’t get a table in any nearby restaurants.

Lovely Honest branch. Food was fresh and tasty, staff were friendly and very helpful and the space was light and airy

Really amazing pub - excellent service from beginning to end (Emily behind the bar especially was so lovely), food was delicious and served quickly, whole area was clean and well looked after, and a fantastic vibe throughout! 10/10 will be back soon
