The Lost Hours in Hammersmith and Fulham

We called in for some drinks after having dinner nearby and the atmosphere was buzzing. We sat upstairs in the bar area but there is an attractive lower garden that looked very inviting with its lights and heaters. We drank several bottles of wine and soaked up the atmosphere. When next in the area I would very happily visit again!

Despite no booking on a busy Friday night, They were very accommodating and squeezed us in. In the Covid age, service has gone down hill elsewhere but not here. The drinks come fast, the cocktails were strong and delicious, and all the staff seemed genuinely happy to be working there. It has a large beer garden and is very nicely furnished throughout. 100% recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

New to the area so booked the first pub with a garden that we found. Really glad they could fit us in, the garden was packed! Not surprised for a Saturday TBF. We were a big group (no more than 6, promise!). Staff were a good laugh, especially the guy at the desk the and the girl with the really long hair.

We arrived for brunch at 1pm on the 18th of April. It was my friends birthday and due to the lockdown restrictions this was her only way of celebrating so i wanted to make it really special. I work in hospitality myself and know that when it is someone’s birthday i go above and beyond to ensure they have an amazing time. For this reason I had written that it was someone’s birthday in the request box of the booking. Upon arrival the host said ‘I see you’ve written it’s someone’s birthday, not really sure why you’ve written that but happy birthday I guess’ in an extremely rude tone. It was so rude that myself and my friend literally had to laugh in amazement because we were so shocked. To work in hospitality I would assume you enjoy working with customers and enjoy making their experience with you special but in this case I would guess not. The rest of the meal was really good with the service from our waitress being fast and efficient. Food was also really nice however we struggled to enjoy ourselves after the initial conversation set the tone.

First trip post lockdown and had high expectations of this pub. It's a lovely beer garden, very big with nice lighting, however the pub is let down by abysmal service. We were seated for 20 minutes without anyone attempting to take our order - the app also didn't work for us. We then had to separately chase staff 3 times before anyone came to take our order. Staff were also very abrupt in their dealings with us. It seemed that staff focused all their attention on tables in the front half of the beer garden, completely neglecting anyone on the back decking - may I suggest in future you ensure some staff are positioned on that area? Our drinks were not served well - our champagne and Prosecco were not served in an ice bucket on the first order, but were in the second. No gin glasses were used too. The heater nexuses to us also did not work. Considering the latest COVID rules, a working heater really should be the bare minimum. The one positive is that the pizza was really good and tasty! I understand that pubs have been shut for awhile, however the standard of service was really lacking and did not encourage us to want to continue to order.
