Great pub for a work Christmas dinner. Too busy so impact on service especially at the bar. Food quality is improving by the year!

The Princess Victoria hosted our work Xmas party on Friday night and did an excellent job! The private room upstairs is very spacious and beautifully decorated; the food was also very tasty. A massive thank you to all the staff who helped out on the night as well as Ez for organising the booking and Tyler for being so friendly and helpful on the night :D

🚇 Shepherd’s Bush Market 🍺 £7.00 Cruzcampo The Princess Victoria is located on busy Uxbridge Road between Acton and Shepherd’s Bush. The nearest Tube is Shepherd’s Bush Market. This pub dates from 1829 and was a former Gin Palace, the pub you see today was built in 1880. Since 2018 the pub has been run by @threecheerspubs who have nine pubs across London. There is lots of claim to fame attached to this pub. Richard Branson briefly owned it, Phil Collins shot the video for "Sussudio", Anthony Bourdain filmed his “Part’s Unknown” episode in London with Nigella Lawson and more recently, Guy Ritchie’s film The Gentleman was shot here. This is a two room pub that has more than a touch of class and elegance about it. The main bar area is dominated by a huge horseshoe shaped marble topped servery. There is patterned wooden flooring, leather button backed banquettes, gorgeous fireplaces and numerous paintings adorning the walls, most of which are of an avian variety. At the back of the main bar is a large doorway that leads through to a stunning dining room with formal rows of tables and chairs. At the rear is a courtyard beer garden, at the front of the pub are a number of benches in what used to be a Victorian Tram Stop. The pub also boasts five luxurious boutique rooms. The beer line offers a good selection of familiar favourites, London brews and cask ales. I decided on a Cruzcampo, my pint was excellent, price point was a tad pricey. The food menu is elevated pub classics, Fish & Chips costs £17, roasts take centre stage on a Sunday. We arrived just after 12pm on nippy Saturday lunchtime in November. The pub had just opened, so it was calm and relaxed with one other punter in attendance. The service was great, the team were very welcoming and friendly and took time out to tell us about the pub’s history and fun facts. I loved the architecture of The Princess Victoria, it’s just magnificent, the interior makes for a majestic place to enjoy a pint, the beer is on point and the service is friendly. We used the 1829 room to host a 30th birthday last month, and had an excellent time. The venue was very accommodating given we had organised a murder mystery party, and the staff were friendly, professional and attentive - namely Tyler and Jay. The food was also excellent. Highly recommend.

We had the Xmas menu. The food was edible but really bland. The gravy was gloopy and out of a packet. The portions were pretty small. It really wasn’t worth it the price. I’ve been going there for years and it has gone downhill dramatically. The staff are friendly enough but seemed a bit demotivated. The whole experience was flat. A great shame.

I went with two friends for a Sunday roast on 24th November. Having been a few times over the summer and it being quiet, I didn’t think to book and the place was packed. We sat at the bar to wait for a table and started on a bottle of wine (St Emilion Grand Cru) from their brilliant wine list. It became apparent that they were short staffed, and service was slow. A guy came to the bar to complain, and we could see some tense exchanges between the staff. Once seated we were served by three wait-staff, two ladies with shoulder length bobs and one with long black hair and an undercut. All three served us with patience and grace and didn’t bring any of their stress to the table which was really impressive. The roast chicken with loads of vegetables was delicious. The staff member with the long black hair/undercut overheard that there was a birthday at the table and asked whose it was. I said, ‘It’s mine, but PLEASE DON’T SING!’. At the end of the meal, my sticky toffee pudding was served with a candle and that wonderful human sang Happy Birthday to me discreetly and really quietly, which was very brave considering and honestly the sweetest thing. Would highly recommend for brilliant service and excellent food.

"Had a lovely time here last Tuesday at the Princess Victoria. It's local to me but I hadn't been there for ages, so me and my good friend popped in, and finding out they were still doing their 50% discount was a lovely bonus. We both chose the special a Steak & Ale Pie, and my goodness, was it delicious! It was probably one of the most filling pies I've ever had, well cooked and lovely, washed down with a couple of drinks we barely managed to finish because we were so full. The pie was definitely worth the foodie coma and bloat! We ate in their spacious dining room next door, as we didn't join the quiz night, which is a very popular Tuesday fixture. The quiz creates a lovely atmosphere, bringing together a mixed community and families. What made the night truly wonderful, like the cherry on top, was our server, Freda. I specifically asked for her name because she deserved a mention and is one of the main reasons I decided to leave this review. Freda was like a hypercharged worker bee all night long and attentive, friendly, and full of energy. She was non-stop on the go, working both rooms. I noticed that in the time it took another server to take one table's orders, she served food to three tables - this isn't meant as criticism of the male server, rather it's a testament to Freda's energetic nature, and even as she was rushing through the dining area with her hands full of orders, she still stopped to ask a table if they were waiting to be served. Her dedication to service and customer satisfaction was outstanding. she's a rare find, a true gem. While everyone who works there is lovely, some people deserve a special shoutout. I've always believed that when you receive excellent service or notice a business doing something right, you should let them know. We're quick to complain in reviews but often keep the good stuff to ourselves. As we left, I told her she should be a restaurateur if she's going to stay in the hospitality industry because she carried the weight of the night and as under pressure and as tireless she worked, knows how to run a place. greeted everyone with warmth, kept a smile about her, and keeping this kind of humility and cheerful personality going under pressure isn't as easy as it looks and she made it seem effortless. To all the bar staff, kitchen staff, and dining service staff: you do an amazing job keeping a full house with all the pressures of running a pub in these difficult times of soaring energy bills and rising costs. You're all badasses!"

Nice pub with decent selection of beers and wines. We were here after a funeral so not the best way to assess, but they did a good job of keeping us fed and watered.

Great pub. We had a room booked for a get-together for a special celebration of life for my cousin Ken all went well staff very good . And food good .

I dined at the princess Victoria with my two friends tonight for my friend’s birthday. We were served by Jack (Jacek) and he made our experience absolutely incredible and so memorable. His service was outstanding and he was so friendly and helpful with the menu and when dealing with our requests. He helped me make my friend’s birthday special with putting candles in the cake for dessert and bringing it out and singing happy birthday to her too! The service from Jack was the best I have received when dining at the princess Victoria and I can’t thank him enough for his hard work and kindness! The food was also absolutely delicious and we enjoyed every single bite of the Camembert, pizza and fish and chips! We can’t wait to return!

Very hectic pub! Could not find a space to sit but General Manager found a space for us and took our orders straight away. It was very lively and make you feel in a nostalgic Bristish Pub. We had a great lunch however it was really disturbed by kids running around!

Great stay in a hotel. Come downstairs for Sunday Lunch and it was one of the busiest pub in London that we have seen so far. Lady manager sit us down and provided amazing service even though she was running all the tables. Roasts were good and beer selection is great. Toilets were clean even though a full pub!

It's about fifteen minutes' walk from Shepherds' Bush Market - so a mini schlep (and past some other, rough pubs!), but is a very pleasant surprise! The decor is elegant and the pub spacious, and a lot of different people seemed to be there enjoying themselves. I came for a private birthday drinks/dinner on 19th October in the upstairs room. It was really nicely decorated, and the service was excellent. The girl on the upstairs bar was charming, friendly and on her game with so many people (c. 80); the guy running the event very efficient but not particularly welcoming. Perhaps we were all a bit loud but we were having such a good time (some of us hadn't seen each other in over a decade)... They managed to do dinner for all of us in an orderly and timely fashion. It was all delicious, and well set up. I was impressed. We had more drinks upstairs after dinner, and I had a fantastic night, all in. Thank you very much!

I took the Princess Victoria for a birthday party. Ez, Jay and their team could not have been more helpful, both in preparing for the event and on the day. The food (including canapes and the main meal/cheese) was delicious and the wine was also excellent and good value. I have had only the highest praise/feedback from my guests. Their upstairs room has a good bar and also a sound system and microphone and was perfect for speeches. In short, a great venue with a lovely atmosphere and friendly, high quality staff - totally recommend it and much appreciate their time and attention devoted to my event.

Had a lovely Sunday roast - nice menu selection, very good service, great ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating, good food and fair value. The only downside is that they had run out of ale and my second choice beer - must do better! A sensible option if you're in the area.

Thursday evening: 18th July' 2024....sunny warm. Decided summer is here' lets head to Princess Victoria for a drink and food. Rolled up to the pub' walked to the bar to have a bar staff member ask for my order. I replied' when the bar person literally screamed back at me saying 'speak up'. I got abit of a shock. Why would the staff at Princess Victoria' be so rude. So agressive. All was needed to say' " Could you repeat your order' couldn't hear you. In a tone we are all comfortable with....I noticed the second time I called out my order' the face of disgust passed over the bar staff. When confronted by this situation' we normally turn a blind eye. I took my drink and went outside to soak up the sun. My wife arrived we ordered food. The same bar staff member brought the food out to us. I ask could we have ketchup and mayo. No reply came back. As the staff member walked off. Then came back with what was asked for...but I said is it possible to have salt and pepper. Staff member walked off and did not come back. I had had enough. Why work in a industry with people skills at the top of priorities for such a job. Yet you are in hate mode the whole time. We are residents of the bush for 24 plus years. Witnessed the changes all around us. One change we will never accept is rudeness' aggressive behavior in a place of pleasure. Something must give. PRINCESS VICTIORIA, you surely can do better. Yesterday 18/07 went for my Birthday dinner with my family.On booking I did mention that is Birthday dinner, however nobody seems to know that.Bar service was confusing and slow ,not poticulary busy around 6.30pm. My booking was for 7.30pn ,than things get worst. Waitress who served was rude and cold,poor service.No good evening ,no smile ,just very unpleasant on taking our orders.We ordered starters and bottle of white wine.Startes are came before wine ,and when I asked about my wine , apparently they still searching for it in cellar.No any apology before that for waiting ,no after that when wine arrived. No any interaction with us during the meal.Almoust we feel guilty to ask for more drinks On my main course steak came over than I was asking ,things happen , chief made me new one.all good ,but same waitress just took my plate back to kitchen without saying a word to me.Of course I have to go to find her first.She did apologised when she brought me new steak,just ,again with not very friendly face.Food was good , delicious but service was joke. On the end when we asked dessert menu ,after menues arrived on table nobody came to take the order.Also half of the menu was not available???? Like pizza chef is off and for sharing starters no idea why we couldn't order that. I use to come to this pub before ,and I was looking forward to take my family there,but this was disappointing experience. Food was superb but rest of experience has been very poor.

This is a great pub with a superb dining area, the menu is varied and has a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options. Our server, Frida, was attentive, informative and congenial. Excellent array of spirits too!

I am in a room right now as I am writing this (currently 1am) For some strange reason, even though "it shuts at midnight," there is still music being played in the function room downstairs, people banging things and talking really loud. The bass from the music is vibrating through the room. Absolute joke. Wouldn't bother staying unless you are looking for a sleepless night. Definitely won't be staying ever again

Super amazing staff that make you feel really taken care of. I had a mixup with my booking to stay there and Esme (I think her name was?) was soooo helpful and sweet in making me feel welcome and cared for and resolved my issue. Great food too. Great place to have a few beers and some food with friends. The food is very good quality and the building itself is a fantastic open plan space with lots of room.

First visit since lockdown, not a happy one. £16 burger had a distinctly off smell and unpleasant taste. Had to go hunt for ketchup to kill it. £18 Roast chicken looked like it had been air fried. Service earnest but quite inept.

Busy on Sundays, make a reservation. Kitchen opens at 12 noon. There are two vegan Sunday meals - a Wellington roast and ravioli, both really good. The roast was excellent, with lots of vegetables and a good gravy. I liked the beetroot/sweet-potato ravioli also. Several other vegan items on the menu: pizzas (vegan cheese available), burger (a very meat-like one, served with fries), flatbread, portobello mushroom starter. No non-alcoholic wines available. 12.5% service charge is added to bills. Pizzas available Tue-Wed 5-10 pm, Thu-Sat 12-10 pm, Sun 12-5.

We visited this restaurant as lovers of the movie The Gentlemen (which was filmed here) The premises are beautiful! Exactly as we imagined. The scotch egg appetizer could not be faulted!! Excellent. As for the main meal, the Burger was already weak. The meat dried out and the burger overall weak. But the steak was excellent and perfectly prepared. The service could also be a little more friendly. But overall impressions are rather positive 😊

Good value for money. It would be nice if a separate setting of cutlery was laid out when having starters. No sign of a dessert menu when we dined there which seems odd.

Visiting this very pleasant pub restaurant for the first time for a family lunch. A Margherita pizza was ordered as a starter and shared. This pizza was very good. No sooner had the pizza arrived, the mains were served. Not good at all, especially as it was specified that the pizza was a starter. I ordered roast beef which came with roast potatoes, vegetables, yorkshire pudding with a pot of gravy. The beef was very good and plentiful, though the roast potatoes did not taste fresh and neither did the Yorkshire pudding - it was cold and bland. Probably both these items were cooked earlier in the day and left lying around (tell me something new). Finished off the meal with a selection of ice creams. I really looked forward to visiting this pub but the overall experience was a bit of a let down. None of the 2-3 staff serving were friendly. In my opinion they looked as if they didn’t really want to be there. I would visit again, however, perhaps at the beginning of the lunch being served!!

I will always come to this place because all in all it is a good neighbourhood pub . However, looking around this pub and its guests , we’re all middle aged and + and we have dogs and kids and we bring family here. We come to talk to each other and have valuable time together. So why the loud music ? Why have it so loud that we have to shout across the tables ? I don’t believe the music is for us guests but more for the staff behind the bar. It just doesn’t make sense. And let’s talk about the staff. They’re nice enough but could be more welcoming . Last time I was there we ordered three negronis . Three glasses were put on the counter and I had time to go to the loo and come back to still find three empty glasses on the counter . Not a big deal but crikey , not the swiftest of bartenders . I’ve come to the PV since it first got renovated and opened to the public many years ago. The standards on everything were very high back then. Since then it’s passed hands and probably quite a few chefs too . Standards have gone up and down over the years. The pizza is quite good and my daughter loves the scotch eggs . The food is ok. This place is full of memories for my friends and neighbours and myself . We marry and celebrate birthdays here. This pub means something to us . I want to see it thrive so we can have many more memories made in this beautiful place .

Delighted by the service provided by Princess Victoria staff, who hosted our work Christmas dinner for ~25 people last week. Organisation and communication with events manager beforehand was excellent, and staff on the night dealt admirably with last-minute changes and our noisy bustle. Great food, attentive service and lovely décor.

We are long term & regular customers of The Princess Victoria, frequently popping in here for a Sunday roast. I have always enjoyed their vegetarian roasts, that is until this Sunday. What a disappointment 😞. My meal was literally half the size of my partner who ordered the beef but cost almost the same. For some reason they decided that vegetarian customers were not to get the roasted vegetables or roasted potatoes or Yorkshire pudding. Just the vegetable wellington, a small amount of cabbage and mashed potatoes. It was miserable. I had to spend an extra £7 for a side dish to fill me up. So I paid more and got less. Given that vegetables are cheaper than meat, this seems unjustified. It left such a bad taste in my mouth that I won't be returning here again.

No atmosphere and charmless waiter. Not quite the Christmas spirit we came for.

I have to say service, welcome and food was average. Great decor but overall a bit of a let down/underwhelming. I love a beef roast rather on the medium rare / pink side and had specifically asked for it but it arrived more medium. Veggies were average. Also arrived “way too quickly”, had to be alrea du fully prepared and plated beforehand which somehow takes a little bit away from the experience. My friend had the pork belly Sunday roast which was ok but very fatty.

Try the specials! They're always excellent. Real suet pies and not "a stew with a pastry hat" to be seen in sight!

Nice PUB, good for QPR game. Pre Booked well in advance, asked to confirm shortly before. Got the Pub as planned, table for three, which unfortunately became table for five but the Princess didn't have a Problem with it. Food excellent, reasonably priced, Drinks wide variety. 0.3 of a mile from Lotus Road.

Hands down the best pie I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten a LOT of pies! Compared to Holborn Pie Room (which is supposed to be one of THE places to get a good pie in London) this was so much better. I’m sure the rest of the food is just as good. Pub is also fantastic, big and open, with great artwork on the walls.

Great pub with really good service, Scotch egg great, Calamari great Sunday roast was great appart from the roast potatoes which had not been par boiled before roasting so more cardboard texture than crispy. This was the only thing that let the meal down everything else was 5 stars. I will definitely have a roast here again and will upgrade my review to 5 stars if they have sorted the roast potatoe situation out as they are a integral part of a roast.

Was really surprised, was staying over, arrived late as a pub quiz was finishing but was still served food. No breakfast offer though.

I love this place in a beautiful old building. Here delicious food is cooked and served by waiters. But a very loud presenter loudly asked questions into the microphone and interfered with talking. It spoiled our atmosphere that we thought about when we went here for dinner.

Il locale è diviso in una parte che fa da birreria/pub e un'altra che fa da ristorante. L'acqua si trova già sul tavolo per cui non è fresca. Di birre alla spina scure hanno solo la Guiness. Hanno a disposizione un menu bambini. Fanno anche pizza e focaccia. Le cameriere sono venute più volte al tavolo per l'ordinazione però bisognerebbe lasciare un po' di tempo ai clienti soprattutto agli stranieri che hanno difficoltà a tradurre il menu. Il fish &chips era molto buono mentre non ho gradito molto l'hamburger. Le salsicce avevano un gusto strano. In bagno il rubinetto spruzza e l'asciugatore fa un rumore assordante.

The pub is well decorated and the food we could eat was nice. Most of the staff were really polite and very helpful, unfortunately one member of staff has let this rating down. We ordered the burrata along with other food, when we cut into this it was hard and we even tried it and it tasted sour - nothing like what a burrata should taste like. We let someone know and they took it away with no fuss. We were then told by a guy who I assume was the duty manager that was the last burrata and did we want something else, fine. We were still deciding when he came over again and all we said was that we were still making a decision. Unprovoked, he then starts to tell us how that was the last one and it was not expired so there was nothing wrong with it. We told him to taste it and then see if he felt the same way, according to him, both him and the chef tasted it and it was absolutely fine. At this point me and my friend are both astonished that this has even become a conversation. Burrata is commonly known as a soft cheese, this was hard to cut into. Regardless of expiry date, this clearly wasn't right. Regardless of how you feel about a customer's complaint, I'm not sure what trying to argue about it with us was trying to accomplish. He then quickly said we wouldn't be charged for it (like that was some sort of gesture of goodwill) and walked off.

Well located traditional British pub that offer also a good accommodation with possible discounted pub dinner for overnight stayers in London zone 2 Shepard Bush linked to the overground to the city. I found it great even though not cheap but accessible when compared to the many overpriced accommodations in London with much less comfort.

Excellent vegetarian Sunday lunch

Very nice English pub. Beautiful rooms, high ceilings with a lot of light coming though. The food was really delicious.

Booked a double room and it was tiny! Make sure you don't get the Bramble room unless you're on your own! Bed against the wall which is not ideal for 2 adults. Nice staff in bar downstairs.

Stayed here over the weekend, the fridge didn't work, shower screen was filthy. Then had to put up with music blaring from the function room below until midnight. I would avoid booking a room here if you attend staying over the weekend.

🌟3.8/5🌟 Well rounded fancier pub. Will come back again. Had their £20 3 course special deal. Ordered their: - Fried calamari: which was tender, fresh and well seasoned. Although could be fried for another 10-15 secs to be perfect - Lamb cutlets: generous portion, well seasoned & cooked. Mint sauce was slightly too weak, so slightly bland. Also the lamb cutlet had too much bone. - mango cheesecake: not too sweet. Quite bland & simple. So nothing special

Organised a baby shower in the 1829 room upstairs for 40 people. The experience was excellent. Manager was accommodating. Food was amazing especially the pizza and the kebabs. The room had a/c which was much appreciated on a hot day. We were able to get our decorations and cake free of charge and move the furniture around the room. The room has its own toilets upstairs which was convenient. The pub itself is really nice, lots of room and great selection of drinks. Only criticism is the barman upstairs could have been more attentive as people kept on waiting for him to return back to the bar. Will return again.

Although I generally really enjoy this pub, I think the standards are hugely variable based on when you visit. The nut roast we had today was more like a Ratatouille with some nuts sprinkled on top and the potatoes were clearly microwaved. Much rather it be off the menu if it’s not up to standard
