Sea Lion Fish & Chips in Bexley

When this Fish & Chip shop reopened about 2 years ago under new management, freshly revamped & called Hooked it all looked very promising ! The shop was clean & inviting & the cod & chips here were nice, not wonderful but miles better than the old Fish & Chip shop Sea Lion which was awful. Now I'm sorry to say it has deteriorated badly. I went in tonight just for beef & onion pie & chips and the place is dirty looking counters and the meat on the donar kebab spike looked disgusting like it had been there all week ! The pie was ok but you can't really ruin that as it's just heated in its pack, however the chips were horrible greasy and overcooked !! What has gone on here ! Such a shame as it's my local but I won't come here again ! Broadway Fish & Chip ShopBexleyheath by far & away best fish & chip shop in area, lovely tasting cod & chips, further for me but well worth it !

Stopped at this newly refurbished takeaway (now called HOOKED Fish & Grill) and ordered a Chicken Tikka Indian Special. The nann bread was rolled and then baked in front of me, large pieces of chicken tikka were added, with my choice of all the salad and sauces. My friend ordered a donner wrap and chicken wings. Chips were not needed when we saw the portion sizes. When back at base the food was packed well and hadn’t leaked while traveling. It tasted really good and I will definitely be going back for more when in the area. It took around 10 minutes to prepare our food, but the shop readily gave me a menu inviting me to call around 15 minutes before next time so there won’t be any hanging around.

Recently moved into the area, and been searching for a decent chippy. Was very pleased with my order. Large portions, freshly cooked and served with a smile. Will definitely be returning
