The best restaurants serving British food in Waltham Forest London

our granddaughter had just moved to the area - we tried the cafe and were very pleasantly surprised - service was friendly - it took a while for food to come but it's made from scratch and that takes time - it was worth the wait - everything was delicious and the coffee was the best I've had in a very long time - will definitely make it a regular stop when we visit the area!

Perfect place to eat with children on the south bank and really reasonable too. (£6 for pasta and meatballs, fries and broccoli!). I was having a day in London with my 6 year old and stupidly hadn’t brought the plug for my charger, everything was on my phone such as Apple Pay for the tube, and theatre tickets for later etc. so by the time we went for an early dinner I was panicking. The restaurant does have charging ports which is so helpful but I didn’t have my plug. Staff showed me they had portable chargers for £3- perfect. However it didn’t work when I paid! (Nothing to do with the restaurant though) A couple of staff weren’t really sure how to help, but one staff member said he would help me and went to ask his colleagues for a plug for me. One came through and took my phone to charge it. To say I was relieved was an understatement, we stayed for a really nice coffee and dessert after our mains. We were able to enjoy the rest of our special day thanks to their kindness. Really enjoyed the food too. Thankyou!

Not great , lovely looking place, however a restaurant that doesn't do lunch & dinners. Breakfast only.

A warm welcoming ‘Oldie Worldy’ pub with friendly and attentive staff lead by Nicola. Our party of 5 all chose the roast options, & they did not disappoint. The house red wine slipped down well too. Hope to go again & would certainly recommend it.

Met here for lunch with friends. The pub is clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. However on looking on-line to see a menu beforehand, you are shown 11 menus! Once you actually get to the menu you want it is so unappetising. No wonder people decide to eat elsewhere - the pub was not busy. We all had fish and chips which was good but it is a real shame the management do not change the weekday lunchtime menu to include dishes such as jacket potatoes, pasta, regular sandwiches with fries etc.

food is good but is being let down by horrible staff and rude management. Ordered last many months ago and the experience was so bad that this is me righting a bad review months later. Absolute clueless ignorant people working there who don't have the slightest or simply don't care about what the customer wants or thinks of them or if they care about repeat business.

Such a nice pub! Stephen and the whole team were so welcoming. I've been in customer services for 30+ years, and pride myself on giving the very best customer service. Well, I got exactly that here! The chicken burger and fries were delicious! I saw the head chef and shook his hand. My neighbour invited me for a pint at this pub that he's known for many years, and I was absolutely delighted It's open until midnight, and after 11 p.m., I noticed a lot of people coming in. I was amazed and delighted. As I say, 30+ years in customer services, and after a long shift, I get thirsty. Apparently I'm not alone. I was so pleased to see the place so full after 11, and the atmosphere was electric, with an excellent soundtrack of music. I drank more than I would have normally, precisely because of the atmosphere. It's such a nice pub! Directly opposite Walthamstow Central station. To Stephen and the whole team, I thank you, and I will see you again! Especially after an end of shift. I'll stay on the tube, two more stops passed mine, just to enjoy a very welcome pint, and cracking atmosphere. GO!

Hrana u restoranu je bila odlična, ali imali smo problema sa aplikacijom za plaćanje. Aplikacija nije radila te je osoblje bilo neljubazno i sporo. Također čistoća restorana nije zadovoljavajuća.

Eight of us visited yesterday (April 29th), the staff were excellent, when we arrived we were told that we were in the restaurant area which is up four stairs, my heart sank as I am disabled with a walker, I needn’t have worried as a member of staff helped me up and back down again, she took our orders and payment at the table. My complaint is the food, three of us ordered char grilled chicken breast, when it came it wasn’t char grilled it was more like cremated, the edges were so burnt and the middle was tough because it was so over cooked. I ordered gravy with it but it was so thin that it looked like coloured water, the desert wasn’t much better either!

I asked for a sandwich the guy who served asked if I wanted bacon and cheese i said yes he gave it to me wrapped up when I got in the car it was the end of the bread! back bread! I’ve never been served a sandwich like that it was dry and awful! it wasn’t bacon it was ham! I felt conned to be honest it wasn’t that much money but it’s not the point

He estado aquí 2 noches el seguidos y cada vez que el personal es respetuoso, atento y muy trabajador.sirven una buena selección de bebidas con una sonrisa y cuando la comida llega estará encantado.caliente, delicioso y presentada como un+ personas empezó.prevé presentar!! No puedo esperar para mi próximo viaje de negocios en Londres. Este lugar es digno de convertirse en mi lejos local . I también se informa que lanzar un nuevo menú espero es tan bueno como este.

OMG !!! Worst service ever ! So so slow . Not feeling welcome there at all . Grumpy faces .not giving attention to orders . Not going back again there.
