our granddaughter had just moved to the area - we tried the cafe and were very pleasantly surprised - service was friendly - it took a while for food to come but it's made from scratch and that takes time - it was worth the wait - everything was delicious and the coffee was the best I've had in a very long time - will definitely make it a regular stop when we visit the area!

The manager here was very unprofessional. I came to the cafe to get some work done so I had ordered a coffee and a pastry and sat down on a table to do some work. I had been there for about 40 mins when the manager came up to me and told me that they had a policy that they don’t allow laptops on the weekends. I was confused because i have been there before on the weekends to do work and no one has said anything to me. I was also in plain sight and no one had said anything to me for the first 40 mins. So I said to her, I don’t understand what you’re saying, to which she just repeated herself. I then asked, are you asking me to leave? And she awkwardly smiled and shrugged her shoulders. I told her that if they had such a policy, that they should have it displayed someone or I should have been told before I had placed an order. What was really unprofessional was that it looked as though she was not even working there at that moment because she was there with her child having breakfast when she was telling me that she is the manager and that I needed to free up the space because they are busy. Absolutely no customer service skills.

A lovely little local edition to Leyton but be aware that it is difficult to get a table on a weekend! I’ve walked past here a couple of times to try to grab brunch and it is always full, however, a couple of weeks back, we arrived just as a table was leaving so managed to get seated quickly. The menu is great with lots on offer. You need to order everything at the counter which does get quite annoying for ordering coffee, brunch, water, smoothies throughout but service was friendly nonetheless. The food was delicious with generous portions and great veggie/vegan options. Cannot wait to return (if we can get a table!)

Delightful addition to the breakfast/brunch/morning coffee venues near Bakers Arms. Very generous servings and reasonable prices. Very pleasant friendly services - relaxed atmosphere, I had the Cumberland sausage in Ciabatta roll and my friend had the Shakshuka - both delicious. The handless coffee cups were a bit disconcerting at first but fine by the second round of cappuccinos! Would definitely recommend.

Finally somewhere outside of the ubiquitous Walthamstow Village offering an excellent brunch! Innovative menu, beautifully cooked & presented by the friendly team. Best breakfast/brunch for miles.

Service is vey slow despite the restaurant only being a quarter full I was ignored on my visit by both waitresses had to ask for a menu, Food was very average and prices expensive £11.70 for a small English breakfast and cappuccino which took over 30 minutes to arrive. In my opinion there are much better choices in the area such as the drum across the road serving a bigger breakfast for less than half the price.

Nice food and bar staff, however ordered some £10 worth drinks through the app to be told they didn't have them (this is after waiting about 20 minutes) and seemed confused about it. Was then offered cheaper replacements, which I refused. Manager informed me it would be refunded. Went up to the bar a while later querying how exactly they were planning on refunding an app order. Was told words to the effect of 'yeah you'll be refunded'. Fast forward a couple weeks, and of course, I have not. Had to take time out of my day at work to call up my payment provider and do a chargeback. Other pubs have refunded me on the same day. 3 stars simply because it is a nice pub and the other staff are nice, just a poor experience. I shouldn't have to spend my time chasing my own money back for the pub's error. Edit: I've since brought this down to a 1 star re: their response to my review, laughable they can't even apologise or acknowledge the fact they stiffed me £10 in their reply. Shameful service from a poor manager.

We used to go to The Hitchcock when it first had a decent restaurant. In the beginning it was fine but gradually prices went up and favourite dishes disappeared off of the menu. My guess is that people stopped going because they mistook their potential audience. So we stayed away. With some trepidation we decided to give it a try because there was a new menu and different owners. We weren’t disappointed. We had starters from the snacks menu, which are well priced. I then had the best short rib of beef I’ve ever had. So much beef I couldn’t finish it but expertly cooked with excellent mash. My wife had the Pacific Prawns which looked - and she said they were - great. We had a nice bottle of wine and very good service from our server. We will certainly be back as what’s not to love. A very good restaurant and Epping Forest!
