The whole craft movement has missed this pub. Low alcohol is a couple of 0% in the fridge. Big screens with sport. Another badly run pub by Greene King.

Incredible value food which never disappoints, solid drinks selection, multitude of TV’s conveniently located for viewing all manner of sports & friendly staff, especially Faye. Weekly events and a welcoming feel. Would not hesitate to recommend. 👍🏼

I attend the County Arms every week without fail primarily for the food as I am not a big drinker. I have never been let down and the service is always a 10/10 as well. Would recommend to anyone to at least try the food as it would not disappoint. The Guinness is outstanding as well.

great pub with amazing affordable cocktail options and amazing food, the buttered corn is exceptional, phenomenon chunky chips , excellent cocktails in a jug, and the special double vodka mix was absolutely great too. Staff were warm, welcoming and super chill.

Where do I start!? Moved into this area not so long ago and from the beginning, Faye the manager has welcomed us with open arms. The pub has live music on certain nights, karaoke, quiz days and on top of that - great staff. I can’t fault this pub…will be my local for as long as they’ll have me 🥹 Oh and the interior is cosy, comfy warming vibes 🥹

Went there for a drink after work, would definitely recommend, great vibe, incredible food and excellent service and the deals/prices were the cherry on top, will definitely be going again

Met 4 other couples for Sunday roast and to watch England. Good food, great atmosphere. Great staff. All very welcoming and friendly. Very reasonably priced. This is our local. We’ve spent many enjoyable evenings here.

The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious and we were made to feel cared for. The manager made a special effort to make sure my girls were happy and looked after. They got to design a logo for the pub.

We recently booked out the Belvedere Conservatory for our wedding reception, and the whole day surpassed our expectations. All the staff were amazing on the day, but it was the lead up with the team Clara, Bradley and Phil, who made the process of planning our wedding and the day itself completely seamless. We had the most special day, in a venue that completely reflected us as a couple. I couldn't have found a better venue - we just wish we could do it all again! Big shout out to the chef who served us with canapes, 3-course sit down and evening buffet, and washed down with selected wines. We will continue to visit the pub anytime we pass! THANK YOU!

Fish and chips tasted like chicken, probably cooked in the same oil, right after. Would be best to be more attentive with these things. Other than that, nice pub

What more do you require from a pub? Cheap drinks, decent grub, a multitude of tvs to watch the sport, a pool table and nice friendly locals!!!! I stumbled across this gem awhile ago, and found it so welcoming that it now feels like my home!!!!! Highly recommend.

Depends what you are looking for, but if it's a lively atmosphere to enjoy the football with friends, it's pretty good. If you want to just have a private drink and a chat, go on a night when there is no sport on the TV as, if it's on, it tends to dominate proceedings. I have also gone in for a lunchtime drink and a meal. The food is very good and extremely reasonable, and the atmosphere is considerably calmer.

The food was well presented and tasted good. Our booking did not go through, but luckily it was a quiet night.

OMG can't believe how bad this pub has got the 2 girls that was working tonight was so rude they should not be working in the hospitality industry at all... they was making rude comments about customer's both walked off the bar because they thought it was funny to both go glass collecting & leave us standing there when we tried to get a drink...when asked a question replied with a grunt very rude!!..served drinks in dirty glasses.... they seem to care more about jumping around behind the bar trying to touch the ceiling then serving customer's...terrible staff tonight bringing the place down I won't be going back to be treated like that again it was Disgusting in so many ways!! No wonder the pub had hardly anyone in there!! They would probably be better suited to working in the brass house round the corner then behind a bar....

Seemed like a good pub, but it was noisy. They had football on followed by music which was too loud for comfortable conversation. You ended up yelling at each other!

It a good place for a beverage but the toilets are out of the Ark, smell, and need a refurb.

Nice pub and really enjoyed our 1st drink but staff need to get consistent about I.D. My daughter turned 18 this week and wanted to take dad out for a few drinks. 1st friendly staff member accepted my daughters Citizen I.d card as proof of age however when my daughter went to order a 2nd round another refused it saying Green King only accept a valid driving licence/passport or military I.D and not wanting to cause a fuss as my daughter has anxiety issues we left. Green Kings website does say they accept the Citizen I.D card as a valid proof of age and it's accepted everywhere else she had used it. Some staff training may be a good idea. Probably never going back, which is a shame as it was a nice friendly pub.

Always feel so welcome when me and my family go there for dinner or just meeting for a couple of drinks. All staff are so nice and work really hard to make you feel welcome.

Gents toilets are a disgrace & should add toilet because the 2nd toilet hasn't been open for 14 months

For the love of god don't book on Xmas day. Inedible food - served cold, everything was boiled apart from the fried potatoes and burnt pig in a blanket. All was drenched in ice cold thick beef gravy. Disgusting. No one could eat it. Had to go home and cook something quick. Charged us a full £200 for 4 people as well. Horrible

Lovely, cosy pub. Went in to keep warm out of the snow, but walked in to a DJ knocking out banging tunes, current and old school, 80s. Had the best night.

Looks run down & the heating either wasn't working or off, not a comfortable place to drink.

Stopped into the County Arms this evening, local feel, really cosy pub - tonnes of fairy lights! (Who doesn't like them?) Pleasant atmosphere - really friendly staff and you can see the sport from loads of vantage points - but not overwhelming for anyone who isn't interested in the World Cup!

A bit rough and ready around the edges, but the service was great and the food was superb. Definitely going again!

A pub surely on the brink of closing? Staff were certainly not busy but even then seemed reluctant to serve anyone. We ordered food.which was good and nicely priced, however it seemed a chore for the staff member. Although food took an hour we were warned of the delay. They said they were busy upstairs but very little action downstairs supported this. We used the app to order more drinks but although there were two staff members talking behind the bar neither bothered. After ten minutes my son had to go to the bar.

Live music on Friday night is quite popular. Beer and wine prices are reasonable for these days. It seems to have shed it's "bit unsavoury" image. A good thing. Decor a bit ragged but o.k.

The interior is improved and the service is a lot better. Beer prices have criped up. A revamp of the toilets is desperately needed. The camera inside the toilets is a little creepy.

Well we had a fab weekend. Breakfast with Santa on Saturday was amazing value. A lovely Santa and his elf were easy to chat to and a very relaxed way for small children to embrace the idea of a man in a red suit with a beard being friendly!! lol beats a dark room somewhere any day. The price of £5per child for a full English breakfast, a toy from Santa and free access to go up and chat was priceless. All us adults enjoyed a very reasonably priced breakfast too. Lovely atmosphere, all the parents (and grandparents) chatted. Lovely. Well worth the visit. Then Sunday the weary organisers of the Highams Park Xmas Fayre ended up in there again at 8.30pm while awaiting the last gazebo/ride people to leave and were served up some really lovely hot food. Stacked burgers for two and I had the fabulous Topped Roast Potatoes. OMG that is a bar snack and a half. Tasty roast potatoes, yorkshire pud, gravy and horse radish sauce! Great find. This pub has changed from the Sports Bar only image. The manageress has worked hard on making it feel and be a great local pub. It still has the TVs with sport on, as its main clients are Sports fans, but it is now also very user friendly for families (until 9pm) and those looking for a tasty reliable pub meal all day. Saturday and Sunday breakfast menu now as well!! Worth a visit!

on first arrival the pub itself was very warm and welcoming, The staff are very polite and helped in every way they could. The breakfast with Santer was amazing, my children enjoyed it very much. myself my family will be going for another visit in the future.

The whole experience was fantastic from the warm and inviting welcome. We didn't feel rushed and got to relax and see santa. The girls had a great time too. Great fun was had by all. Will definitely be back again. Food was delicious and the service was fabulous.

The County serves me for many purposes. Going out for drinks with mates. A moments peace from the children. Also sometimes I bring the children and they are more than welcome. A place to work on my laptop when working from home is getting stale. The people who frequent here are nice, the staff are all lovely, the food is good. Best of all, its cheap. Win, win, win.

I have used this pub several times over the years til I moved out. Recently went back to meet a couple of friends for a few beers. It is very well situated for transport into london or essex. We were there for a few hours. The entertainment was decent, and the staff too, especially Dillon, who was helpful and very attentive. Loving the new manager,Gemma,she looked after her staff, and customers making the whole atmosphere very friendly. I think I'll be back soon.

We went for Sunday lunch today, and had to wait one and a quarter hours for two starters to arrive, then 20 minutes for the first meal to arrive and then a further 20 minutes for the rest of the mains. There was only three of us. The first person to receive their main meal had finished eating by the time the other meals arrived. We told staff that if they had told us, when we ordered, that it would take so long, then we could have at least decided to go to a different pub. Lots of people were waiting ages for their meals, but staff continued to take food orders without warning the customers of the long wait. This really spoilt our afternoon. Very disappointing for a Greene King pub.

Hosted a baby shower in the function room upstairs,the space is versatile,fairy lights are already up,you are able to decorate for your event anyhow you like. We had a hot/cold buffet provided by the pub,prices for drinks were reasonable,food was delicious. Thank you County Arms for letting us host a fabulous event.Staff were amazing and helpful.
