Great food great price and you know what you're going to get when visiting a wetherspoons pub. Always busy but never a problem Steve C

Went here for dinner. It was very quiet the waitress said its normally like that on Friday's. The food was all very nice Braked brie followed by shepherd's pie with pieces of lamb rather than mince it was very tasty followed by chocolate tart for me and ice cream for my husband. It was quite expensive but I suppose that's London prices. Would go there again if in the area

Had fish and chips with my son there yesterday. Quick service and a nice old worldly charm. Fish was excellent - not soggy with a crispy batter - perfectly cooked. Chips was also better than the usual but unfortunately the same could not said about the mushy peas.

The opulent and traditional décor of The Hyde Restaurant and Bar promises a great dining experience, and fixed menu initially seemed to do the same. However, what was served was far from acceptable—more akin to the work of an amateur using low-quality ingredients. The steak was simply inedible. It was tough, flavourless, and appeared to be cut from skirt meat rather than a proper steak. Even after sending it back twice, the kitchen failed to rectify the issue, serving only another lump of tough meat. In the end, I requested it to be wrapped up—not for myself, but for a colleague’s dog, which speaks volumes about its quality. In hindsight, I wasn't even asked how I would like the steak cooked, further alluding to the fact that it was "skirt meat." Other dishes from the set menu were not far off in other areas. The bread served with the meal was no better—a stale sesame seed roll that was hard and clearly past its prime, probably from a breakfast sitting, not suitable to be served at 8pm. I could barely take a bite without feeling disappointed, again this was left and reported to the waiting staff. To add to this dismal experience, I later learned that some fellow diners out of the group of 18 diners as part of the group stopped at McDonald's on their way home—a sad testament to the unsatisfactory food. In summary, The Hyde Restaurant and Bar is in dire need of improvement. With poor ingredients and subpar preparation, the meal left much to be desired. Save yourself the trouble and dine elsewhere.
